  • um who can unlike this?

  • vedo che ancora il blues non te lo sei imparato!!!

    VLAD

  • Those unfamiliar with this song can see the original version by the Dave Brubeck Quartet from the 1959 album titled, "Take Five"__ A difficult song, played very well here.

  • Hey buddy, good job. I accidentally hit "dislike". That was a mistake! So you actually have one less dislike than what's showing. :-)

  • Wonderful music

  • AWESOME!...learning this song now....it's tough....you did a great job!!

  • Good Job brotha!!!

You need to walk the bass though on the break

  • Good Job brotha!!!

  • excellent playing,I thoroughly enjoyed this!! Ive not long bought an arrangement of this that we are currently adapting for a 10 piece ensemble.....great piece of music...

  • BRAVO!!!!

  • Totally lost in the improv...

  • its a little quick but BEAUTIFUL

  • Wow... so ummm... some people want me to learn this. I don't know if that'll be happening haha

  • wooooooow!can you give me the score?

  • VERY nice! I am just learning this song and I do it in bits, and each time I get to a new bit I stop and stare and my mouth drops and I say "there is no fucking way I can play this OH MY GOD" but then I can do it.. so I hope I can play it as effortlessly as you seem to able to one day.

One comment - yes your dynamics weren't really happening. The parts where the sax plays the melody are supposed to be a lot softer

  • Perfect, didn't hear any mistakes. BUT YOUR POSTURE MAN!

  • This guy's bridge section is very good compared to mine, but for a slightly bluesy improv section watch the middle of mine.

  • wow!!!!!!!

  • Nice Work.

  • This is really great man, very well done.!

  • Man!!! That was phenomenal!! You did fuck up the very end, but at the speed that you played it at who wouldn't!!!! Congratulations!!

@ andrea27aa HAHAH!!!! Improvising, uh? You're a pianist and don't know what this piece is, then.... What kind of pianist are you?

  • You guys have no idea how hard 1:20 to 1:40 is.

  • @unoriginal345 Haha i do i played it for a recital and a competetion.

  • @unoriginal345 More like 1:20 to 2:15

  • Constructive criticism? Probably gets that from his teacher. I enjoyed it. If I were him though, I'd get a digital drum machine and track the drums for this song and let it help out in rehearsals. It's not easy to keep the drive up with all those time sig. changes. It's a hard song that makes you look like a great musician when you finally, master it.

  • no, not too fast

  • too fast.

  • Ah... I wish I could play the piano. Good job.

  • absolutely incredible. Unbelievably well done. im speachless

  • Does anyone know what AMEB grade this is?

  • probBLY ABOUT 7

  • The triplets are dragging a bit.

  • muy bueno ::...

  • incredible.

  • Anyone know where to find sheet music for this? I'm just too lazy to figure it out by ear :P I love the grand piano and the bench! I wish I had such at home! And it's great that there is a good musician to use them :) I really like your playing. There are minor mistakes but you feel the music which is more important. The other thing is just practice and concentration ;)

  • Try on "Fakebook", i found tha rondò's sheet ;D

  • buy a book ;)

  • bon travail sur l'improvisation. nous jouons cette chanson en fanfare ...je l'adore!

  • Comment removed

  • Maybe, but it isn't an improvisation... Its a piece from Dave Brubeck.

  • he was talking about the jazzy parts--the kid is playing--i think the kids improvisation is mediocre-altho he played the standard part very well

  • nah that isnt the brubek version to the letter

  • really good this has inspired me to learn this im gonna get a similar arrangement asap

  • graet!!!! really really great the interpretation!

  • loco! sos un genio! che pasame las partituras, si las tenes :P

  • Lol... It's a Rondo... It is supposed to be repetitive...

  • Yes, but an improvisation can be also not repetitive...

  • Lovely!

  • He's not reading sheet music. It's not that difficult of a song to memorize...playing it is another story :(

  • wow 1:40 and the end is crazy!!!

  • where is the sheet music?

  • i challenge you to be able to play blue rondo without memorizing it

  • argentino!! de donde sos? este tema me mata

  • You play nice the theme but you have a strength hand be carefull with this the sound lose escence.

    Good Luck Bro!

  • Great playing I'm playing this in my saxophone quartet

  • This was great!!

  • Great!

  • Watch the beat! Maybe it would be better slower but more accurate...

Apart from that, I liked your version, especially the way you handle the transitions between the "rondo" and the blues, which I still fail to achieve!

  • Some people just can't be positive about a fabulous performance! I've heard many versions of this since growing up in a Brubeck household, and this is a great one!

  • Some people like constructive criticism of their work. Why else put it on YouTube?

  • you live in a Brubeck household?!

  • absolutely incredible, i love the use of your pinkys lol thats my problem with this song

  • I found the improv just fine, he just needs to be more comfortable and confident with the tune.

  • Muito bom!

    (Very nice!)

Sobre os compassos de improvisação, talvez estes precisem de um pouco mais de acompanhamentos com voicings e menos escalas pentatônicas.

(About the improvisation bars, maybe it need more voicings chords and less pentatonic scales.)

    Parabéns pela performance!

    (Congratulations for the performance!)

  • The ending was a little weird, but overall I think this is probobly among the top 5 versions of this song on all of YouTube. I understand how difficult this song is technically, so I have to say great job =)

  • <3 Beautiful.

  • Great performance, but your improv sections could use a little work, the timing is a little jerky and would be nice to see a little more happening in your elft hand

  • Oh and your piano could use a little tune

  • @serfox1 it would be nice to see a little more improvement on your spelling, what is an elft hand ?

  • @jrmrofin Dont be a smart ass, its called a typo, not illiteracy.

  • @JayLovePlaysGuitar "Dont" should be "Don't" and "its" should be "it's". Also, that first comma should be a period. Sorry if that makes me a smart ass, but all I did was go to school.

  • @MrAttPatt being a grammer nazi only works if the person misspells things waaay off. This is the internet, not Harvard.

  • @serfox1 Timing is jerky because of the awkward key measure in the song. It is mostly done in 9/8 and 5/4 with a very few small parts (I think four measures in the whole song) done in a regular 2/4 key measure. It's a difficult piece to perform.

  • @TheISProductions No doubt, but I was mainly commenting on the mid section, the actual piece is very well performed. It is very difficult. I have trouble with the thirds in the right hand in the first secion, playing the main melody and harmony.

  • Would you happen to have sheet music for this song?

  • Search music room dot com, they have everything there.

  • I hate this song. But you play it well.

  • I love this song, and you play it well.

  • gdan6666666: why did you cover this song? (sorry for my poor english)

  • Because my ex piano teacher liked it. And I was an impressionable child.

  • ooook. congrats anyway!

  • Not enough dynamic contrast for me... apart from that no complaints; great finger-work especially on the thirds at the beginning.

  • nice

  • Very nicely played.

  • wow. fantastic.

  • Absolutely wonderfully done. Absolutely nothing to improve here.

  • barbaro! me encanta como tocás....y además de eso tenes un piano precioso!

  • dude......

  • muy bueno pibe...

  • Impressive!

  • Sos un capo pibe! Que grande Ostropolosky!
