  • my sulotion in shadow when its so pixelated, is just dubble the ammount of pixels per shadow, but it also got FPS down by 4-6

  • @DrNaturalPhenomena oh you didnt well blender is basaclly a program to make video games like portal its a 3d program to making animations, games, and modeling you can have sort of fun making it

  • @TheChazzyC Blender is no more than a Graphics Renderer, things like Unity 3D is a pre-built game engine. Blender is more under the category of 3Ds Max. He said this was his own Game Engine, he scripted it with a programming language such as C++ or C#, and used a Graphics Library such as OpenGL or DirectX. For the models he could have used Blender or Max, but these are Half Life and Portal models. Therefor he did not use a graphics Renderer such as Blender.

  • @user666mega Fine then, try VSM instead. PCF would be ok for sunlight though.

  • @asagpol I do use pcf for sun. VSM is even slower and causes some major artifacts. I don't like it :). I will think of something else ( using advantages of cube mapping ).

  • This game engine looks like the kind of engine that would be developed over a long peroiod of time by a team of expert programmers and game designers following a strict software design life cycle methodology. If you did all this yourself... you're a VERY clever guy, seriously!

    no, i wrote a programm, wich converts maps from .vmf to my own format. you can decompile from .bsp to .vmf ( vmf - used by "Hammer Editor 4.0" ascii format ) using "vmex"
