  • I always dig this album out in the autum for some reason. This and the girl who wanted to be god are my faves but the whole album is shit hot. Also elvis impersonator is truly amazing....the sound of September for me, driving in my audi quattro with the long nights drawing in....legendary stuff.

  • One of Manics' masterpieces..

  • I love this song so much

  • love this song

  • I was there

  • the start sounds like oasis

  • Agree, yes it does, great great summer tune i think.

  • JDB lookin' good here

  • Much as I love Kevin Carter (mainly because of the trumpet) I do agree that this song is superb and should've been a single.

  • @musicsnobtobe what is it good for to make something a single? peace, dude!

  • anyone know the exact model james is using here?? gibson les paul ...../??? i always thought it was an supreme but its not... anyone know?

  • looks like LP custom

  • haha ya thanks found out since that comment i made but thanks anyway.. ya ur right it is a lp custom

  • I don't know if anyone's noticed this, but the song sounds vaguely like Peter Frampton's "Show Me The Way"

  • True. Same armony but maybe at a different tune

  • W1010

The song shows Nicky coming to terms with the loss of Richey and Phillip Hall(former manager) who the band lost both of them within a year. Nicky found a picture from his wedding which showed him between them both which explains lines like, 'I'll take a picture of you to remember how good you looked'. Despite the sadness it's actually a positive and uplifting song. Nicky shows an appreciation for life with, 'All I want to do is live no matter how miserable it is'.

    Anola is Alone backwards.

  • Thanks. I guess you can read things into songs, great art lets you do that.

  • yep your 100% right with that...

This is imo the single that kevin carter stole lol.. from me its the best song on everything.

and i really cant believe that 10 years after everything must go there playing it 10 times better!! just amazing...

  • @bhoyseanoc Thnx. Beautiful song, as always by the Manics.

  • Great song, but I wish I knew what it was about.

  • This is always the first song I go to on 'Everything must go'. It should have been a single, much better than Kevin Carter.
