I know I am not the only one but I received this unit with preinstalled software of "frontier" something or other and some other wifi links (something like Aethea., - well whatever). My HUGE problem is that I cannot remove these programs the normal way!! They are not showing up!! Any suggestions??

The only problem I have ever had with this laptop, is the headphone jack keeps coming out, and it won't stay in all the way, so I can't use headphones in public places very well, because the built-in speakers are on as along with the headphones

Well these netbooks are pretty much the same since they use the ATOM processor. Usually the difference is the hard drive, and memory. I would always see the quality of the screen to see if it looks good.

I tried one of the hab models at my local best buy and i think the screen was pretty good. But for some reason there are 2 "different" hab models in that the black one has a 0.3 MP camera, and the other has a 1.3 MP camera, unless it's just a typo.

The 0.3 or 1.3 megapixel is not much of a difference. In my opinion they both suck. You need good lighting and not move too much.

XP is 8 years old. It's a dinosaur of an OS. That's what's wrong with it. It took 2 service packs to be made usable (vs one with Vista and 7 works great out of the box). It needs to be put to rest, it's eXPired.

I can tell you that I'm very opened minded when it comes to new software especifically the OS. After trying them all, I still love XP. Everything works in XP, some things crash here and there on vista and windows 7. Windows 2000 professional was actually my favorite, XP was built upon that. I agree XP is a solid OS.

The keyboard was not loud it works just fine. The fan is not loud either, it does come on often depending on the ventilation in the room and application you are using. Video tends to make the fan come on all the time. But the sound is acceptable. I would say GET IT! :-)

This one is way better, 2 more cells so mure battery runtime, slightly better processor, and what I find important, this one has 300 mbs isntead of 54 mbs wireless internet receiver. So if you have a wireless network at home that is 54 mbs or higher (N-technology) TAKE THIS ONE

well the eeepc with the n280 processor has more features. All the atom n280 has over the 270 is a 0.6Ghz higher clock so its up to you

whats the standard battery life on the 3cell? and can it run linux operating systems?

The battery life for the 3 cell battery is about 4hrs, the 6 cell is about 8hrs just in case you want to know. You can install Ubuntu on it, I don't know if the wireless card onboard will work. You will need to search for Linux drivers.

Any of these netbooks or laptops that have a glossy finish have the glare problem. This one seems to be fine but not meant to work out doors on a sunny day.

ok i think i got it: the HA-M has a slighty weaker battery, a non-glare display (compared to the glare-display of the HA-H) and no bluetooth.

Also, the HA-M has the intel atom N270 1.6Ghz while the HA-H has the N280 1.66Ghz.

Is the N280 noticeably faster than the N270?

The differences between the 2 are very small, the 1000HA-H has bluetooth, a better 6 cell battery, the processor is the atom n280 1.66GHz. The 1005HA-M has an atom n270 1.6GHz. Other specs are the same. The one in the video is the 1005HA-M

The webcam has a 1.3 megapixel camera which records video just for fooling around. This does not record great quality video. It will work for youtube videos

Maybe when you use it extensively and without good ventilation it will do that.
