Congress was not in recess. The Republicans did just enough to keep Congress in session under the rules created by Harry Reid. Obama said "f*ck you, you are in recess so I am going to make a recess appointment."
In truth, most "recess" appointments are NOT constitutional because recess meant a change in congress (every two years), not a break in congressional session. Presidents have increasingly abused this appointment process.

Dr. Paul is a Constitutionalist, and that piece of paper is a contract. Doggish devotion to upholding a contract is vital to any form of society.
In the USA, we generally use "libertarian" to refer to right-libertarianism, and "anarchist" to refer to left-libertarianism. It's not a misidentification, that is just the classification system we use.

Officially, there wasn't even a recess. Obama made the appointments by claiming that, technically, there was. So there will be a suit filed to decide the matter.
The kicker is, if it's decided that it was illegal, those appointed still get paid for their time. They still get our taxpayer money for compensation, even though they were never legally hired.

Congress was not in recess. The Republicans did just enough to keep Congress in session under the rules created by Harry Reid. Obama said "f*ck you, you are in recess so I am going to make a recess appointment."
In truth, most "recess" appointments are NOT constitutional because recess meant a change in congress (every two years), not a break in congressional session. Presidents have increasingly abused this appointment process.

Wrong, Demotard. It started with Truman. However, it was not extensively used until Clinton. Bush followed suit until Harry Reid established procedures to keep the Senate in technical session to stop Bush's recess appointments. Bush respected the Reid's move. Obama has said "f*ck you, you are not is session".
The truth is that these appointments were intended to be made only during the transition of one congress to a new one so open could be filled temporarily.

The appointments were made when congress was in "pro forma"--that's like a lunch break, not a recess. Not to mention all recess appointments must be made 3 or 4 days after the session ended. These were made during a 15 minute pro forma session, not 3 or 4 days after recess. Clearly this is illegal, until the corrupt Attorney General Eric Holder said it wasn't.
We've all been living in a dictatorship, most of you just don't know it.

I'm from Oz where a Recess Appointment doesn't exist. Wikipedia states "Recess appointments are authorized by Article II, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution," and explains the why, how & history.
