If anything, Judo is riding the coattails of BJJ, and its success in MMA. If Judo had adhered more to the spirit of BJJ, then it wouldn't be seen as less effective. Even Rhonda Rousey, Olympic Judo medalist, trains BJJ for MMA. I love Judo, but BJJ is distinct. Without BJJ, many Judo techniques would have been lost.

judo is a compilation from a few techniques from jiu jitsu. Judo dont have the dangerous techniques from jiu jitsu. So jiu jitsu=judo + other dangerous techniques
@Brasileiro327 gracie bjj is judo,not jujitsu,they were never taught jujitsu,they just specialised in newaza and using judo for real fights and developed some new strategies and techniques.jap Jujitsu involves weapons ,kata and very little or no sparring.
