  • 9:12 please turn on '64 and let the camera shake. Wonderful.

  • 0:29 camera starts shaking ;-)

  • i gotta start playing some organ again!!

  • Wow! If it weren't for the funny looking console, I would not have known this was digital! It takes me a lot to say that -- I usually find a digital like quality that was completely absent here. The performance was FANTASTIC! What brand name is this organ made under?

    Thanks so much for sharing!

  • @Zylstra555 Thanks, you're very kind. This is a Marshall & Ogletree organ. More information about M&O is available on our web site, as noted in the video description.

  • This is a great song, and it was played wonderfuly

  • very very good ,but you must increase a little the volume at the minute 4,30 to 5,35 , with a program , bye

  • i need a organ like this in my house!!

  • 7.16, hands and foots = WOW O____O !!!! 5 *****

  • Hans-André Stamm gefällt mir mit Abstand besser. Er spielt einfach besser und schöner

  • One of the finest performance of Toccata in D mnor ever played. The organ is superb. Thanks Doug again!

  • I closed my eyes and was sure I was listening to Virgil Fox.

As for the instrument's 64 foot stop, U-Toobe can't do justice to it. I had to chuckle when I saw the camera trembling in the breeze, as it were. Old Man Bach (as well as Virgil) would have loved it!

  • awesome! i just watched the whole thing again :)

  • by the way, i saw Cameron Carpenter in Princeton on Friday. this console looks a lot like the one he designed for the Middle Collegiate Church in NYC

  • @BigOrganPipes I saw a pic of the crowd. The place looked very full!

  • i love how the camera shakes on the low notes LOL

well this answers my question about if the organ has a Thigpen rotary woofer. What kind of subwoofers are handling 23-80hz ?

also, can you add more reverb making it sound like it's in a much larger cathedral ?

  • @BigOrganPipes This piece contains genuine 9Hz fundamental on the low D pedal. We'll post the spectrum analysis soon on our site. The ranges are set up such that the rotary woofers handle about 4-22Hz and the Trinity subs 16-60Hz, depending on the stops in use. We can do reverb but haven't in situations where an instrument is used with other instruments or voices. Call us purists. It's OK. :)

  • @organpower Oh. i believe you about the 9hz fundamental on the low D with the 64' stop. i know the rotary woofers well :)

that's great. these organs are awesome !!!

    i'm guessing you're using def tech BP-10b speakers ? how many ?

and studio monitor 450 speakers on the trumpet stops ?

sorry for all the questions but this stuff fascinates me :)

  • @BigOrganPipes Well, I suppose I can share... You are correct. If memory serves, this organ has 45 audio channels, 32 are BP-10b's, 8 are SM-450's, 4 Trinity subs, and the TRW and about 16,000 watts of amplification.

  • I love how the 32' stops make the camera vibrate!

  • @DCN1234567 Hey, glad you like that! That's probably the 64' stops in the balcony. This organ has Thigpen rotary woofers which can put out over 110dB SPL all the way down to 2 Hz. We also created a "theoretical" 128' stop to take advantage of these unusual devices.

  • i just found it extremely off the scale!!! didn't like the staccato modifications on some parts :s

  • I saw the performance as very much inspired by Fox, nearly identical tempos and registrations, but I would say it's a much cleaner and crisper performance. Thank you.
