I have respect for this man because he doesn't just walk in to some guitar center and pickup the first $3,000 Gibson Les Paul. He tries the weird looking guitars in the weird looking shops. The genuine shit right here.
i have a '86 squier strat, maple/rosewood that really kicks any fender strat that i have played.
it just depends on the body and neck, if have good quality, the pickups heights and bridge calibration makes the whole difference and for that u just need to know a good luthier to tune up your baby. i also recommend Ernie Ball's super slinky 9! trust me.
How many times do you recon he buys "a pedal [or guitar for that matter] nobody has ever looked at" then by the end of the month someones sees him with one and everyone wants one!
@EvanRossTV squier really upped their game...i would have no problem buying any of the high end models...if you wanna call them high end...but the 50's vibe models play like MIM fenders to me...but the affinty series is garbage lol
@wallawalla3427 just fingerpicking a twelve bar blues in G i think.. im too lazy to see if its really in the key of G but his hand seems to be making a G chord on the first chord.
guitar shopping with dan would be like THE GREATEST THING EVER like holy shit i cant comprehend the awesomeness of that experience im going to nashville that summer just to have the chance of it happening
@mooocie15 Well, it's tuned to the same tuning as a guitar, since he's playing a blues progression in G (G, C, D, etc). So it might just be an oddly shaped guitar...
Been in my top 5 bands since 2007...i'm lucky enough to live 30 miles from Akron, where they're from. They named their album Rubber Factory bc in Akron there's Goodyear, Firestone and every other tire manufacturer- just fyi! lol
they really need to change the word "phonographic" to something else. at a quick glance one can misread that. get your head in the gutter for a sec and you'll get it.
i went to denmark street the other week. i went into a shop called vintage and rare guitars, the had saw dan and pretty much said he was a tight arse haha
Check out a cover of Flume by searching Ramble and Wake. Check out the originals titled Pills and Coulda been bad as well. Pease comment and let us know what you think. Any feedback is good feedback. Thanks.
@90sRockWhore well another you might be interested in is the Dean SplitTail.i know you just said you dont like Vs or SGs but you might like it when theyre combined.or you can Danelectro 59' reissue or a Mosrite Ventures. but it would suck to be left handed though.
@ColtyRamone funny you said that, im getting a 59' next week.
its not SO bad as a lefty, but usually I have to pay a LOT more and search real damn hard to find something I want, because i only go for wierd guitars.
but some of the most wacked and unique guitars come in lefty, like the Dipinto Galaxie 4.
usually i always have to buy lame colors though, like white, or sunburst
but. the guitars i do have are so heavily modded that theyre one of a kind.
@90sRockWhore I agree completely. As I lefty, it is a pain in the arse to try out guitars. I just modify the hell out of them to make them my own though. Don't be limited by your perceived limitations.
@troykeenanguitar we're exactly the same on that man, two of my guitars are so completely modded that they are nothing close to what they were, ive got four, but my two most modded ones are my 3/4 scale SX strat copy that i had modded like a Jaguar, an SX SJM 62 that i put a short scale on and its also wired with jag switching Switching options make sense
Then ive got an Eastwood Airline 3P with Magnatron pups, and a righty Eastwood Gemini that i had rewired for a lefty.
well yeah they're the lamest when thats all they have in EVERY FUCKING STORE YOU GO TO. i dont know maybe you like routine and the same exact thing over and over, or maybe you just cant see where im coming from.
@90sRockWhore i can see what your saying, but your just kind of being a contrarian by saying theyre lame because theyre everywhere. i can understand if u like the sound of other guitars, but it seems that ur just saying theyre bad because theyre common. some of the best guitar players use these guitars i.e. hendrix, page, vaughan, clapton, etc. not saying you are wrong, just my thoughts. but if u are willing to spend some cash, idk if uve ever heard of collings guitars. nice shit.
@norhamdan1985 (I didn't read the original comment, but) Teles, Strats & Les Pauls are without a doubt some of the best guitars on the market because of their ability to play any style you want really, and that's why everybody always buys one of those guitars. But that, I think, makes them also kind of boring to look at, you know, because there are a hundred other guitars that are also awesome. F.ex. Danelectro makes some of the coolest and greatest sounding guitars for their price range.
@norhamdan1985 honestly it comes down to what you prefer and what you think feels and sounds right. ive got a seagull maritime sws semi gloss and a seagull s6 entourage and honestly im as happy as i ever can be.
@norhamdan1985 theyre not the best selling guitars. yeah they get a lot of sales but there is plenty of other guitar companies that compete. imo they are way to poppy. martin's have a thick sound to them which i don't like and by that i mean only some im not sure about all of them but ive played a handful and you can get the same sound from any other guitar, you just have to look around.
Truly a legend past his time, it's an utter shame the Keys don't get the recognition they deserve. People just don't know what music is anymore, they've been dumbed out for too long on mainstream garbage.

Man guitar stores are like candyland for right handed people.
If youre a lefty its like fuck you. all you can get is a les paul or strat, or tele. pretty much the lamest guitars.
thank god for eastwood guitars.
By the way, is Dan on like really heavy drugs or something?
He always looks like he woke up out of a 20 year coma.

ooberpwnage 1 year ago
@ooberpwnage sorry buddy but theres nothing badass about rolling your tone and volume knobs off while youre playing.
And think about what you said, why should a paying customer have to change the nut, and restring thier instrument, right handed people dont.
it sucks, and to me, it dont look cool either.
but one exception, i DO have an eastwood gemini that is right handed and it looks WAY better playing it lefty. but like i said one exception.
