  • Why don't you try re-uploading it? That might fix your problems.

  • If I was you I would just re-upload. Sounds funny lol.

  • Such a beautiful movie..i agree! What makes this such a special movie..is how real it is...I just covered this song 'falling slowly' hope you can take a listen:) Thanks for sharing this with us...so beautiful!

  • yea the story is based on their reality... isnt that simply amazing!? that is such a fairy tale story, and its so beautiful!

  • it's not actually based on them, it was written before either one of them was lined up to act in it.

  • watched this for the first time tonight ..

OMG how gorgeous ...tell me ... are all the guys in ireland as lovely as glen hansard?? coz if they are i,m on me way xx

  • a movie with passion and deep love i think its the best .

  • About 2 months ago I met Glen and Marketa in Hollywood with my Dad durring a promotional Q&A. They proformed the song for us and Glen actually used the guitar from the movie. It was great and there such nice people and real. Lots of Love to Glen and Marketa!

  • The guitar from the film is actually his guitar. He doesn't want to replace it even though it had the hole in it because it has so much sentimental value to him.

  • Once...only Once in a lifetime do we get the chance for tRue happiness.

I found mine when you said "Hey"

    i love you RaQuel

  • Oh this movie makes me proud to be from Dublin and proud to be Irish. Glen has been making stunning music for over 20 years, now the whole world gets to hear him. Well done to the two of your for winning your Oscars!!!

  • Just wonderful. I have nothing more to say.

  • Great!...Beautiful song!Is the movie as beautiful as the song is? Tell us till we can see it coming up in the theaters.

    From Argentina

    Cristina

  • Yes it is! You must see it.

  • Thank you.I´ll keep waiting.

  • aneladga, don't go assuming stuff you have no idea about. what is that about the clothes looking romanian? romanians dress just like any other people in any other corner of the world! their traditional clothes are only worn for some event-show they are taking part to, but not for weddings or some other events like that. and just because czechs and romanians are from the eastern european, they are NOT neighbors, not do they understand each others' language. jeez, people!

  • Absolutely beautiful film. Its nearly impossible not to be in love with it.

  • What a beautiful, amazing film.

  • I love this movie. I've had Falling Slowly stck in my head all day!!

  • it just won a nomination for oscars! congrats!

  • The ending of this movie is the most heart-warming moment in film of the past 10 years.

  • I agree.

  • The only two things that come remotely close in my mind are the cover of a Moldy Peaches song in front of the steps at the end of Juno and the very last minute of The Lives of Others.

  • Absolutely! I love this movie.

  • i saw this movie on the music award and it won..i keep hearing this movie is a great one. where can i see this movie?!

  • On DVD because it has moved out of the theaters

  • gonna rent and see this movie tomorrow :)

it looks good and ive wanted to see it for a while haha but i forgot all about it.. and i heard it was really good

  • Nice, but somethimes really out of focus. Czechs are usually wearing common clothes and living at a much higher level.

  • I was in Prague for five weeks in 2006 -- working on a film. Your counry is breathtakingly beautiful, and the people are wonderful. I can't wait to go back to Prague. And Czesky Krumlov. Did you know that the Irish and the Czechs share a common Celtic background? That's what I've been told.

  • As everywhere in the world, somewhere is more beauty, somewhere less (except Hollywood:). I like Prague too, fills me with some special sense... I live about 100 km from our capital. I have been in Cesky Krumlov last time in 1995, when I was 14 and I remember many beautiful historical buildings. A long time ago, in a area called middle Europe...yes, I know about my Celtic roots, thats why we can enjoy the life so different, like the Celts:)

  • I´m very proud of our country. Maybe we are little country, but we are important, too :))

  • Good point. I think in Marketa's character is more mixture of other immigrants to Ireland (e.g. clothes look Romanian). It doesn't speak about Czech reality.

  • wth? hahaaaaa

  • clothes look romanian, doesnt mention czech? wth?

  • I think that this movie is about real life. It is not fairy tale. And thats why I love it! And the music is great!

  • I think u didn't watch it .)

  • what are u, like 13?

  • you do realise its not a big "blockbuster"???

    not enough guns for you??

  • It's so nice to hear people talk about how the movie warmed their hearts. It seems to bring the best out of everyone.

  • =]]]]

  • best movie ever!

  • I thought the music was great

but the film itself I wasn't so keen on

  • Great movie.. i love dat movie..

  • Love the Frames..

  • this film was spot on, saw it in Bradford yesterday. The only positive thing in Bradford

  • 2 for 34!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh, I just came from cinema. Thanks for such a good songs in the film:)

  • it was brilliant for fucks sake (ha) but in all seriousness i thought it was incredible. the simplicity of the cinematography really captured me. the songs, the acting, ahh it was awesome. the characters played their parts very well...and i feel really good right now =) lol

  • This movie was amazing. I saw it on the plane, hadn't heard anything about it and it blew me away. I have tears now just watching this!

  • I hope Glen and marketa come back to Dublin to preform! i wanna see them live!

  • it does make you feel warm and fuzzy

  • I love this film and the music, and hope we will see plenty more of Glen and Marketa.

  • I hope I can watch it here in Germany, I NEED TO SEE IT!!!

  • billions, millions thank to you guy for bringing me back to the beaty of life again!

  • it's rated R because they say the F-word one too many times in the movie, which sucks cause it's such a beautiful film that it's been so limited.

  • Saw the film. Liked a two scenes and songs very much (the music store "Falling Slowly" and the recording studio "When Your Minds Made Up"), but on the whole I thought it focused too much on the 2 main characters. In the scenes that had other characters, the other characters were boring. Overall, I would give it 3 out of 4 stars.

  • thanks for commenting...my reaction to YOUR reaction...it wasn't an ensemble film...:)

  • Yeah, it wasn't an ensemble film, but usually there is some back story. How about the husband of the girl or the girlfriend of the guy? All we see is the husband at the end and hear the girlfriend on the phone.

  • I understand. However, for 300 thousand pounds -- they could barely afford to have it be a "talkie." Hiring two more actors and give them lines? Remember -- even all those folks around the table singing didn't have "lines." :)

  • That's not an excuse. I'm shooting a film for $5,000 and I have 20 characters. You get non-SAG talent and you pay them nothing or next to nothing.

  • wow, you obviously missed what the film was about. It was SUPPOSED to center on the 2 leads, the others were not supposed to matter. It was the guy and the girl's story not the husband or the girlfriend. The backstory was of no importance.

  • That's a very shallow way to look at a movie. They didn't expand on the other characters and it hurt the movie.

  • A very special friend sent me the song Falling slowly and I inmediatelly fell in love with it... And now I saw the trailer. Haven´t see the movie cause it will take some time to get to my country.. I´m looking forward to it, Im sure i´m gonna love it! Is not hollywood crap as I can see, so that´s a great beggining.... thank´s Tonny for this marvellous song... I luv u...

  • Ah, suck a romantic. :) The bittersweet ending is what elevates the film from being merely sappy and derivative, perhaps? Dunno. I loved the ending. Very "Gift of the Magi" in its non-resolution resolution.

  • I was being facetious about a sequel. I hope they possess enough "artistic integrity" to resist any such temptation. I didn't "love" the ending at first, but it quickly grew on me. There's plenty of room in my imagination to allow Guy and Girl to play out their ultimate fate, and so bittersweetness tastes just fine to me. But would I still go see any sequel? Pass the popcorn, please.

  • obviously, suck was meant to read "such." I now have new glasses, thank you. Although, in hindsight, sucking a romantic ain't such a a bad idea.

  • oops...SUCK should read SUCH. But, on second thought, the notion of sucking a romantic ain't SUCH a bad idea. :)

  • The film "Once" is both simply brilliant and brilliantly simple. Can't get "Falling Slowly" out of my head. Hard to believe that Marketa Irglove is only 19 years old. I fell quickly in love with her the moment she appeared on the screen. This movie screams out for a sequel. I suggest it be called "Twice."

  • Hmmm. Interesting idea. I have three words for you, however: Blair Witch Project. Sequel?

  • I hated the ending of this movie. I actually yelled "no!" in the theater. which was slightly embarrassing.

but the songs and the acting and the story up to that point were lovely.

  • how can i watch this movie?

  • It is playing in theaters in selected markets...it depends on your city. Check on AOL.movies -- moviefone.

  • Fantastic, pure joy. Rated 10 out of 10.

  • Wasn't it -- ISN"T it -- wonderful? This is a movie I want to own. :)

  • hollywood studios can make this little gem turn into big budget crap!! with some dumb all american actress and actor!!

  • god bless you'al

  • and you as well....isn't it about the best movie anyone could make for 130 thousand Euros? :)

  • money can't make good movies, it's dreams and vision, hope.

  • And more than a modicum of talent, maybe? :)

  • it's too bad george lucas can'y understand that.

  • oH WOW ,IMAGINE A LIGHT SABRE IN HIS HANDS .LOL gREAT iDEA
