  • Turn 8 - Where all the action is

  • is that the same turn that killed that other guy a couple years back

  • i dont c y every1 hates turn 8!!! it might hav killed some1 but could u imagin the clipsal 500 with out it??

its a unique part of the yearly clipsal 500!!! its my favourite corner in the country to watch!!!

  • Great deomstration of the racing driver mentality though. Most people would think that he would never get in a car again, but so long as it doesn't kill him he's gonna keep doing what he loves

  • adelaide track need change turn 8.

  • they need to fix that, cous thats the exact same place as ash cooper hit and died

  • really they need to go to the full f1 track it will take that turn out

  • why wont they do anything about turn 8 year after year it claims people u cant tell the drivers to go slow

  • Well they have :-). That section of the track will be narrowed next year meaning a reduction in speed to about 190km/hr. The change in alignment of the outside barriers will apparently make it safer as well

  • yea, will be less exciting but its too dangerous

  • Yeah, they are bringing the wall closer to the track. Which I think will make it more likely to crash into because it it closer.

  • the reason they did it was so the cars wouldnt smack it, they would glance off it if they did hit it while it was narrower i think

  • Motorsports dangerous, as a driver you enjoy the challenge and accept the danger associated with it. If drivers had a issue with that corner there would be a significant move to remove it but the majority enjoy it.

  • He's bloody lucky, Ashly Cooper had the exact same thing happen to him at the start of the year in the fujitsu race. Same thing, clipped the inside barrier and that threw him into the wall. The only difference that Ashly's heart diloged out of plac ewhich unfortunatley claimed his life.

  • i heard he died because it was something about the drivers seat

  • I'm not sure what happened to be honest...I was told by a friend of mine who aswell as races car's herself, also works as a medical crew member and she told me that happens quite a bit in high speed crashes. Apparently when you hit the wall at a certain G-force, the heart dislodges and that causes life threatening injuries. But I've heard a few different stoires about how Ashley Cooper died. Shame it happened, but like they always say....motorsport is dangerous.
