  • Oh yeah.. old school.. loved this in the NYC clubs!

  • Incredible space-hop.... way before its time.. I used to play this 12" over and over before sneaking into manhattan... after-hours.. secrets..

  • OMGGGGG!

I used to love dancing to this song at the club!

There's another song the DJ used to mix this with.

I can't think of the name and all I remember is the

the guy would talk really fast and then he would say:

"I used to RUSH! RUSH! RUSH!"

It has a great dancing syncopated beat!

  • copped on wax today...

  • Fun house that's all

  • tha dopest bboy record 2 break 2.

  • Heard this on WLIR LI very late at night. Memories I cant repeat !!!!!!!

  • Heavy airplay on WLIR Long Island way back when along with a lot of these New Wave novelty records

  • i've still got the 45 of this !

this band was really underated they were deserved more !

  • RARE!

  • funhouse...83-85...r.i.p.

  • one of the best dance tracks ever.

  • This is a GREAT song and this era should not be forgotten!!!! Not many people really "get it" !!

  • i used to dance 2 this at the odyssey.

  • oww !!!!!...the fun house ny ny ...82-84!!!

  • Oh, yeah. Remember this on the radio, my older brother going to grade school...there was a college radio station near us, which became all new-wave during the 80s one of the first to do that. they interviewed "nobodies"--like David Byrne, the B-52s, Sting, Ric O'Casek, Al Jourgensen. Yep, never hear of them guys again...

  • Great song. Grew up with it. I think it's funny that Slang Teacher is the B-Side of Chicken Outlaw and Chicken Outlaw it the B-Side to Slang Teacher.

  • Found this on RCA 7" promo the other day, only knew about because of you though groovedigger00. I will shout you out in a future vid, props.

  • @funktuall you're welcome, that's why i do this .... these songs should not be forgotten!

  • This song brings back memories of my 80s teenage life in Los Angeles.

  • Classic tune for sure..funhouse joint n,y,c, baby!!! yeahhh budddy!!!

  • @port2344chester 83-84...i was outta my mind!!!!

  • @shootonface Gr8 times!

  • HOT TRACK! Thanks to Sir Jam C for passing it along to me in '83 in StonyBrook. If you're out there Chris, hope you're well. - Flip Side

  • speaking of american crap , something needs to come on the air and take over what's on Mtv which is all bullcrap shows and when they play music it all sucks. Another british invasion? maybe, but it'd have to be indie, cuz british and uk top 40 singles suck as bad or worse than the u.s. top 40 does. i wish all this hip hop and taylor swift and american idol crap would just stop..just stop!

  • @DjJohnnyM68

Your absolutely right! Big bizness and big money has taken over the industry worldwide and it really pathetic what has became of popular music. Underground has been the only refuge for all the people that appreciate quality music. I don't see any hope for commercial radio music . Sorry my friend.

  • Used to dance my ass off to this in the 80's. Thanks for posting it. Kevin Mooney ex-ant, alright!

  • Do you think you could upload 'Chicken Outlaw', too. It used to be on Youtube somewhere, but it's gone now. All I can find now is a live version, and I don't much like live recordings.

  • Done. I also put up "Come Back Friday" ... enjoy!

  • Thank you! I don't really like 'Come Back Friday' but I'm sure many other people do. But I do love 'Chicken Outlaw' and it's great having it back.

  • This was hot at the Metro in Saratoga Springs!!! I am thinking mid-late 80's...

  • You are so wrong!!! This is early 80's, when the European invasion took over the American crap that was being put on the air!!!!!!! Enjoy!!!

  • OMG!!! I have been asking folks about this song for years and years, and nobody knew what I was talking about, and here it is. Thank you. I used to love this when I was a kid, and it sounds even better today. I am so excited! Thanks for posting.

  • Oh my GOD!!! I sing this song all the time and the kids at work just stare at me....WLIR was the best..beautiful downtown hempstead NY!!!

Go dance at Malibu, wake up drunk on the beach ........good times...

  • Love it!

  • my college year....played @ the bar, the metro, mfp(gainesville, florida).....80s.

  • Lots of play on WLIR 92.7 on Long Island in the 80s. WLIR rocked!!!

  • absolutely!!!!!!!!!!

  • I used to have this same album. It mixed great in the break with Blancmange's Living on the ceiling.

  • this did gat airplay here in NYC, on disco 92, better known as WKTU....

  • those are all black clubs....

  • heatwave in sheepshead bay.

  • Jellybean sure did, this was a Funhouse staple song

  • you forgot heatwave in sheephead bay

  • This song has been on my since the 80s and I had a thought...why not search Youtube...Technology so amazing -)

  • Jellybean Benitez used to rock this jam at The Fun House on West 26th Street back in '82/'83 and the crowd used to move when he played it.

  • Damn I bet that was great to see and hear back then..now our airwaves are filled with whiny pop singers and fake ass rappers.I really wish they re-release this..hell all of Bona Ventura itself.I mean granted todays taste isnt quite as good as yesteryears but its just a suggestion.

  • In America this is the song that got airplay, not Chicken Outlaw.

  • Not sure what part of the US you're in, but in Los Angeles both "Slang Teacher" AND "Chicken Outlaw" got about equal airplay. Also "Come Back Friday" was a radio hit in L.A..

  • I remember Richard Blade played Chicken Outlaw on KROQ here in So Cal.

KROQ pretty much played every obscure new wave group from England back in the day. 8-)

  • KROQ did play "Slang Teacher" alot too, as well as "Come Back Friday" ... i have all 3 tracks posted here now

  • Both got airplay in Philadelphia too

  • Me also..... since 1986 at a place called Heartbeat

  • I think Kevin Mooney has said this is the WBA song he's most proud of

    But they're ALL goreous

  • Personally this one,Chicken Outlaw,Billy Hyena, and of course Ravers Redlight are ALL gorgeous!!! I hope to hear Ravers Redlight again tha CD I had it on is destroyed!!

  • You must have transferred it from a vinyl to CD, yes?

Come Back Friday is my fave WBA song

  • Nah a long long long time ago when I first used Napster I found a couple of his songs..it was one that wouldnt download..Jet Fighter or somethin like that..Come Back Friday was ok to me didnt grab me like Slang Teacher or Ravers Redlight

  • You're thinking of the song "Set Fighter," it's the b-side to one of the singles . . .

  • i've been searchin' this tune for over 20 years....didn't know the name...thank you so much!
