Oh, yeah. Remember this on the radio, my older brother going to grade school...there was a college radio station near us, which became all new-wave during the 80s one of the first to do that. they interviewed "nobodies"--like David Byrne, the B-52s, Sting, Ric O'Casek, Al Jourgensen. Yep, never hear of them guys again...
speaking of american crap , something needs to come on the air and take over what's on Mtv which is all bullcrap shows and when they play music it all sucks. Another british invasion? maybe, but it'd have to be indie, cuz british and uk top 40 singles suck as bad or worse than the u.s. top 40 does. i wish all this hip hop and taylor swift and american idol crap would just stop..just stop!
Your absolutely right! Big bizness and big money has taken over the industry worldwide and it really pathetic what has became of popular music. Underground has been the only refuge for all the people that appreciate quality music. I don't see any hope for commercial radio music . Sorry my friend.
Do you think you could upload 'Chicken Outlaw', too. It used to be on Youtube somewhere, but it's gone now. All I can find now is a live version, and I don't much like live recordings.
OMG!!! I have been asking folks about this song for years and years, and nobody knew what I was talking about, and here it is. Thank you. I used to love this when I was a kid, and it sounds even better today. I am so excited! Thanks for posting.
Damn I bet that was great to see and hear back then..now our airwaves are filled with whiny pop singers and fake ass rappers.I really wish they re-release this..hell all of Bona Ventura itself.I mean granted todays taste isnt quite as good as yesteryears but its just a suggestion.
Not sure what part of the US you're in, but in Los Angeles both "Slang Teacher" AND "Chicken Outlaw" got about equal airplay. Also "Come Back Friday" was a radio hit in L.A..
Personally this one,Chicken Outlaw,Billy Hyena, and of course Ravers Redlight are ALL gorgeous!!! I hope to hear Ravers Redlight again tha CD I had it on is destroyed!!
Nah a long long long time ago when I first used Napster I found a couple of his songs..it was one that wouldnt download..Jet Fighter or somethin like that..Come Back Friday was ok to me didnt grab me like Slang Teacher or Ravers Redlight
Oh yeah.. old school.. loved this in the NYC clubs!

OMGGGGG!
I used to love dancing to this song at the club!
There's another song the DJ used to mix this with.
I can't think of the name and all I remember is the
the guy would talk really fast and then he would say:
"I used to RUSH! RUSH! RUSH!"
It has a great dancing syncopated beat!

Great song. Grew up with it. I think it's funny that Slang Teacher is the B-Side of Chicken Outlaw and Chicken Outlaw it the B-Side to Slang Teacher.

KROQ pretty much played every obscure new wave group from England back in the day. 8-)
