the penny fix seems to be working for me but the fan is going full power! but despite that the ps3 has not turned itself off and doesnt appaer to be getting too hot!

some people have had the same problem with the slim models. i will need to looking into this more. i had something like that happen to my 80gb so i reopened it and push the 4 penny to gather and it work find after i put it back. sometimes when you close the case some penny's get moved

I used this on my 120GB slim and it worked but the problem now is that when I turn on the Ps3, after using it for about 5mins or less, the fan starts speeding up to maximum levels and eventually I get a warning stating that the PS3 becoming hot and that I must turn it off. Whether I choose to turn it off or not, it shuts down on it's own. Could the pennies be conducting too much heat to rise inside the ps3 slim?
