  • Nice tutorial and thanks for the links!!!

  • Wow you suck, I've been cubing for ~2 months, and I average 37 sec with beginners method. About 31 seconds with 4 look last layer Fridrich, best time 24 sec... I just memorized the last 16 pll's in two hours, and now I'm practicing finger tricks for them...

  • @Kinjutsuu wow! you must be really good at rubiks cubing! can you teach me??:)

  • @rblack37

    Hi :-)

Sure I can... Funny thing how I want to punch myself for that stupidass boasting-comment I made up 10 months earlier LOL!!

I don't cube so much anymore actually... I got too bored at learning full OLL algorithms I think :D And was pretty satisfied when I reached 17 seconds, and 36 second one-handed :-)

I guess I'll be very sloppy now, but will be able to teach!!

  • the cube is too close to the camera

  • CAN U DO IT SLOWER WHEN UR TEACHING??

  • haiz...fridich...my old method(beginner method) can do in 1min25seconds...but fridich,i can do in 2 minutes...not use to it....HOW TO IMPROVE???

  • Practice.

  • your cube turns with ease! :(

    my cube r teh sucks

  • Lube it

  • That what she said.

EDIT: Oh wow.. I meant Jessica Fridrich, that was a terrible pun.

  • those algo are too long use cubewhizes algos much faster

  • bull thts straight up crap

  • I'm bad at memorization... so I just learned Dan Brown's method (which is basically just the official guide's, but upside down.

    My best time is 1:22.15.

  • cool, i learned his method a couple weeks ago and i got 1 minute! i have a video too.

  • whatz the name of the stopwatch software u have

  • yeah i really didnt get it all i saw was you solving the cube while saying do this pattern but idk what pattern your talking about

  • thats a sexy solve!

  • You are in your own little world... no-one knows what your are talking about except uber-rubiks cube geeks. Not a good tutorial. Your post seems to be just You bragging on your dorkish accomplishment.

  • lol "rubik's cube geeks." You can make a seriously good ammount of money off of this in competitions.

  • you do a two step OLL

  • why is the rubiks offical websites different from the video please give a respone

  • it may have been updated

  • the pll website's algorithms didnt work for me

  • here's a good site

type in dans cube station and go to the fridrich section

it gives you everything you need

and even the scrambles to set up what you want to practice!

let me know what you think

  • my fastest time 29secs

  • how do you remember all those algrorithms?

  • After using the algs for like 10-15 solves, Your hands adapt to it and it is like hooked on to algs. I really cant even say the algorithms i just perform it. If i had to say out the algs i wouldnt be able to

  • this theory is called, muscle memory

  • u suck at tutorials

  • you had it somewhat set up

  • nice

  • hah i beat his time my time is 34.76 secs!

  • cool mechanic

  • dude i dont study my rubiks ube before i solve but its cool if you do

  • usually you get a 15 second inspection time (studying it) before the real solving time. I actually didnt no that until i found this rubik's stopwatch online :).

  • Sorry, but this is by far the worst Fridrich F2L tutorial on the face of this planet. If you want to make an instructional video, don't just go "Ok so you do this pattern here and you'll get that" and so on. Go step by step instead of showing off how fast you are doing Fridrich F2L.

  • There is 46 algs. He recommends sites to learn them. Hes not teaching intuitive F2L. He is just recommending sites. So this basically isnt a tutorial Just a recommendation?

  • I think this video is a great conceptual introduction to implementing the Freidrich algorithms.

Myself, I knew about all the websites and have already printed out the F2L, OLL, PLL and COLLs but didn't quite get when to use them. This video made it very clear. Thanks!

Perhaps if you had a disclaimer indicating that people who watch this video should already know how to solve a 3x3x3 cube but only wish to know how to get faster using the Freidrich methods.

    Good stuff!

  • If you're going to make an instruction video you should explain what you're doing.

It's almost as if you're showing off how fast you can solve the cube.

  • where do you get that kind of cube......the one with the olympic symbol on it?

  • where do you get that kind of cube......the one with the olympic symbol on it?

  • good sites

but you just say if you do a pattern you get this, and don't say what it is or go slow enough so anyone can tell

  • to fast....

i can solve the cube in about the minute but ur moving to fast and i cant really understand u

  • this is a piece of crap instructional video

even tho i kno how to do f2l

for others that dont, it doesnt help at all

you go too fast. no one knows what the hell ur doing. you dont even list any algorithms

the only help ive seen so far is that u've given a couple of websites with the algorithms

  • hey where did you get the silver cube?

  • very good video, more of a intermediate/advanced vid.

thnx for websites and cube info, really helps

  • this doesnt help at all

  • u r going too fast'

  • hey it's possible to... nvm... -_-

  • freewebs(dot)com/sirshazaam its a community of cubers like ourselves who use fridrich method

  • don`t have pedagogy for to explain

  • I know less algs, and im faster, which proves that algs aint just the way to get faster, i learned my own f2l method and i know 21 pll's and about 30 oll's

  • that proves nothing, in science (or anything for that matter) if you cannot repeat a given theory, it is not fact. In this case, if only you can get faster w/out algs, it's just you and not a fact.

  • I think there are two ways to get faster.

    1. More efficient algorithms, and

    2. increasing the speed in which you maneuver the cube

  • Well he did say if you're not fast learn more alg's and that works both ways, if you're faster you can learn less alg's. You're actually supporting what he said.

  • does anyone know the fastest rubik's method

  • this one

  • Lol don't be so naive, roux method is also very fast, and petrus i've seen sub 13 with, so don't just say fridrich is the fastest :P shop around as such

  • it all depends, I came up with my own method (called Keith Method) and i am very fast with it, petrus I am not fst at yet but I am still faster than fridrich with petrus. I have never found a Roux tutorial so I don't know how to do that.

  • It isn't that manny algorithms..(Yeah it's. No it isn't. My mab it's xD) It's just 119 diffents.. hehe and I can barley remember seven xD but i began today and I have solved it like 3 times xD

  • please list the "patterns" in the description or something!! cuz of that this vid isnt that helpful.

  • he did you idiot...look hard and theres a link to all of the patterns..theres over a hundred and you need little pictures of each of them so its easir to just put links up

  • wats the second rubik's website??!!

  • wow thanks for that website

  • What timer is that, and where can I get?

  • type: java stopwatch in yahoo or google

  • it says so in the description

  • The link in the video description.

  • <:'0

    ?? ?? ??

    Whut?

  • I don't get it

  • i kinda understand but like every one else a wee bit slower please

  • nice cube. boring voice xD

  • that was great will look to get one ....Fast !

  • ty for the websites!

  • That is not helping at all because you are not showing us the algorithms

  • its supposed to be INTUITIVE F2L, meaning no algorithms dumbass

  • if you get confused go back to begginer solutions!!

  • on the permutation last layer what does the symbols l' y' and x meen for the algorithms?

  • hey can yu teach us like how to like after we solve the first two layers the make the top cross, after can yu teach us how to make the top all one color cuz like yu jus spedd through that shit

  • 10,000+ views. thanks guys!

  • hey its a good video but can you please slow down a little. thnx!

  • so...you're a bad teacher. good cubing though.

  • lawl ''manwoman''

  • on the lars website when he says the moves in brackets are one move, what does that mean? like how would i go about executing (R2U)? nice vid btw

  • you move it WAYYY too fast for anyone to follow the steps...

  • What stopclock program is that?

  • hey thx...but is there any specific way to hold the cube...cause i did it like 10 times when i had a cross...and i held it just like you with the solved one in the bottom left but i never seemed to work...?

  • Hey...i can get the cross easy on the last layer but can you tell me the algorithm that you did at 4:54 to get the entire side the same color (OLL)????

  • its R U R' U R U2 R'

  • 32 second is much 10 56 second is cool this bad

  • u need learn english

  • u need learn english

  • hey

nice tutorial and video = 5/5

oh and can u tell me where u downloaded the rubiks timer? =]

  • look in item description under TIMERS. thanks

  • where u get the stopwatch

  • look in item description under TIMERS. thanks

  • thanx

  • you do it so slowly for a people who now all F2L all PLL and almost all of OLL, I now 6 F2L 4 PLL and 6 OLL and my records is :

    3x3x3: 27.86 - Average: 38.73

    3x3x3 OH: 1:00.11 - Average: 1:33.66

  • this video was made 4 months ago when i knew only 9 OLL and 15 PLL.

My 100 cube avg is now 29 sec with a shitty cube that locks up all the time. Ill sand down the corners and see where my time goes after that.

  • :D i did what you explained in the vid, and after a couple months of learning the fridrich method, i actually understood which algs/cases you had and did. i still like this vid tho

  • yea i agree, it was cool...but not rly 'explaining' a thing.

  • I think he's assuming that you already know how to solve it.

  • Ok.. CAN SOMEONE DO IT STEP BY STEP PLZ.. I know how to finsh the cube one way.. But i want to get faster and every person that ive been too about the jessica fridrich method on youtube does not explain it well at all.. They go to fast, they dont explain it.. PLZ Im not sure about the double layer i dont know how to get them to match.. So yeah plz make a video step by step for slow people like me..!! :(

  • where did you get your cube from? and great vid btw 5/5 =D

  • The word 'explanation' seems poorly used here.

  • i look forward to your vids

  • repsond to this plz- what timer did u use? lol

  • Shodor interactive stopwatch. I put a link in the video discription.

  • what timer did you use?

  • Shodor interactive stopwatch. I put a link in the video discription.

  • Cubesmith, ftw.

  • u turn the cube really slow. when ur turning u shouldnt use ur thumb just ur fingers. dat probably sense becuz ur thumb is technically a finger 2. -.-

btw whats da fastest u can do a 3x3x3?

  • I see what you mean. I was turning slower in this video because this cube was so loose it would pop if i moved too fast. I retightened it. My best time is 22.51. My best recorded video time is 25 seconds. My best avg of 5 is 27.5. My overall avg is now 31. I only use the thumb for "R U2". Its very fast with a tightened cube. For R' U2 i now use my index and middle finger for the U2.

  • Hello, your site is great but why do those orientations (OLLs)not work for me?? I, of course, believe that theyre all right, but then could you just write me a simple notation off all the moves used on your OLL page?

Perhaps theres one already? Then please give a link cos I can't find it!

    Thanks

  • Stop breathing so hard god

  • i dont really understand the link for PLL and OLL....wats x and y?....and how r u supposed to be facing the cube while doin those algorithms?...

  • When doing the algs for PLL and OLL have your original cross on the bottom and your unsolved U face on the top (facing your ceiling). x = R... but rather turning just 1 layer on the right your turning the whole cube "R". So if the U of your cube is all white and you turn it "x" then now the back of the cube is white. Turn it "xi" and the front of the cube is now white. y=U and z=F. hope that helps.

  • oh thx alot...yes it did....

  • AT LEAST ALL OF U CAN SOLVE UNDER A MIN. it takes me two with the beginner solution >.< can someone kindly explain to me wat AN ALGORITHM IS? and how the work and stuff?

  • wtf is an algothirm... and wats with all the memorizing? (a very little ignorant non-teen kid here)

  • An algorithm is a series of turns that yields desired pieces into different areas of the cube. Example: (R U R' U') means turn the right side clockwise, up side clockwise, right side counter clockwise, and up side counterclockwise. An algorithm consists of the notations U, D, L, R, B, F.. Up, down, left, right, back and front. Theres hundreds of algs out there and you know which one to do based upon what colors you see on the cube and where you want them to go.

  • what website is it and were did u get that spray

  • I updated the websites in the video description. So you can find all of this video's links there.------------------------- As for the silicon spray I bought it at Lowe's (Similar to Home Depot). It was located near all lubricants like WD-40.

  • do you use diy cube from rubiks(dot) com??

  • yes, but i didnt tighten this one up enough so, as seen in this video, im being cautious of it popping so im not going as fast as i can. For anyone else putting together their rubiks DIY (do it yourslef) id suggest tightening it good, and not too loose, when making it because it will get loose over time. If its too loose after you first make it, it will get even looser over time and then be unusable as it will pop too much.

  • i agree with that plus getting cautious of fetting your cube from popping makes you slower, based from my experience.. tnx pinedja

  • I can solve the 3x3 rubiks cube in under a minute. Around 57 seconds. I am trying to learn the fridrich method. I am having trouble memorizing all those algorithms! I need help! I also need help understanding and learning the f2L. please respond!

  • The f2l means the First 2 Layers. You can see it completed at 3:28 in this video. The f2l is done by first getting a cross on the bottom (which then leaves 4 2*1 slots to be corrected in the f2l) and then doing 4 alogrithms to to fill in 2 pieces at the same time in each correct slot.

  • Ill make a video soon on algorithm memorization tricks but to get you started, print out the f2l algorithms from the latter website i mentioned in this video and in order from left to right... memorize the first 3 and NOTHING ALSE. once mastered concentrate only on the next 4.. Then the next 4, 10, 10, 10. There is an obvious reason to memorize them in this order. Youll see when you try it. Hope that helps!

  • hey when can you make that video on algorithim memorization tricks? That would be greatly appreciated.

  • hey, the f2l method is easy. u dont need algs, all u need to do is find the white cubie for example and get it to the bottom as well as getting the second layer at the same time. it's kinda tough but once u get it, ull never forget. Im making a tutorial soon.
