r&b is an industry term for urban music sung instead of rapped. Contemporary Black Popular Music is devoid of rhythm and blues with emphasis on the "blues". That element gives the feeling and earthiness of the music from the maker to the listener. Long live EWF and soul music.

jus remembering the days when their was a band in every other garage on my street and jus trying to see who sounded more like EWF.....are there any kids still gettin together in the garage and playing live instruments anymore
This is a song that mean so many different things to so many people. But to me it has a meaning of setting priorities in my life. Like God, Life, Family, Loved Ones, Friends, your Country, Pets, Careers, Personal Desires, and Memories. Whatever you hold closest to your heart most are the things we tend to devote ourselves to. These are the things that give us the most Joy & Fulfillment in our life, be it Passion or Spiritually. That is why we choose to give our truest Devotion. Enjoy ...
just right on!!! saw these guys like 4 times...this group was one group where i listened so so very much to...phillp from my home town..right on...Thanx...peace
man o man - i think this live version was recorded in dc capital centre...i was there...'let's hear the ladies say...yea, yea, yea...devotion...ewf 4ever! taught me so much in those crucial years...keep ya head 2 da sky,,,big up maurice, phillip, verdene...et al...and thanks 4 posting
I love the way this starts out, sounds great. I will always love the live versions of Devotion and Reasons more than the studio versions of the songs.
i hung out in a club back in the 70's and this was ALWAYS the last song of the evening. every time i hear it , i go back in time to my simpler youth. thanks for the memories!
yes it is, obviously you know nothing bout EWF, it's from the gratitude album which was a live concert recording in which keep your head to the sky was an interlude to devotion. just listen to the whole song.

The original Gratitude album didn't have the "Keep your head to the sky," intro. Still this is awesome.

I really hate the fact that I was born in 1985. I missed out on some good music. I can't even imagine being there, live!
