  • omg.. the looks the voice...

  • first time I ever heard this song was in 7th grade.my parents got Stewarts unplugged album for free out of one those subscription cd services. the melody and lyrics crushed me and I would listen to this album (esp this track) on repeat. I like both tom and rods version...two different angles. speaks to how great the song is.

  • OMG... I can't get through the first ten seconds of Tom Waits' version. He sounds like he just ate one of the big Muppet characters in one bite and is trying to sing out of his @ss because his throat is clogged with blue fur. At least Rod does a version where you can understand it, and he also puts a TON of feeling into it. I'd have to give the Rod Stewart version the win on this one, easily.

  • @LordAeduard you obviously have no respect for the song writer....have you heard bob dylan.... and if you like rod steward music then you have bigger problems you can taste it when tom sings....you ought to read his poetry....but go ahead and stay in your bubble your the reason the same 7 songs are on radio....and let me know who wins idle....

  • Like adding water to good whiskey. FFS!

  • ouch

  • This makes me want to cry. SERIOUSLY. I want to be generous. But... this song is so good and what Rod Stewart does to it is so wrong.

  • oh god- no -
