Youtube is replacing television for me, you just keep channel surfing and finding more and more......damn this was good!!! I saw an online jamm session program at DigitLife convention called E-Jamming where you can all play together via midi online. But this is just as cool if not cooler!

we could do it live but time zones, audio quality, time delays etc, id need to play the foundation but i couldnt hear the guys as they would all be delayed. they would need to record their part to me only due to the delays etc.. so it be the point of a jam, not really feasible at the mo, well it is but it wouldnt be tight.

well trial and error... its a little more than just merging 4 clips together. we started with the drums, added guitars then bass last. Tony done the audio mix using cubase - i synced the clips using ulead video studio. the important thing for us was sound fidelity.

On our Cover of Hotel California, we ended up having over thirty tracks that all had to be merged together... The most important thing is to have a good starting point for everyone to play against... Even then, sometimes there are timing issues. You used to have to use SMPTE to keep everything together, but now, with digital recording equipment, the internal clocks of computers keeps everything in sync really well... Good luck!
