  • The Republicans never believe in Government involvement until you start fucking with their MediCare, MedicAide, Farm Subsidies, taxing their religion or screwing with their Social Security. Then all of a sudden they are bitching and moaning about how they have been screwed.

  • Wow, finally found something I disagree with Hitchens on. Kinda sad and happy. Miss you CH, the world's a lesser place without you. Btw Palin isn't a true Libertarian, just a free loading oportunist.

  • @ahallidie Who ever said she was a libertarian?

  • If only we could get one tea partier to actually listen to reason for 3:47 seconds, then we could at least make some progress.

BTW, Medicare was a Truman project and Johnson closed the deal 20 years after it was proposed making Harry the first Medicare card holder.

  • @fatchodeinyourmouth You're a twat.

  • Only a REAL FOOL would claim there is no God! Man creates awesome skyscrapers, fake hearts, tunnels, vehicles etc.. If we are very imperfect then what more can God create THE UNIVERSE! You must accept Jesus Christ as your Savior to receive eternal rest in heaven! Simple! John 3:16 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him! Repent & accept Jesus Christ! Jesus Christ or HELL?!? Visit cbn. com

  • @tigersforchrist crazy ass clown hypochristian.....sorry you have such a low IQ

  • @tigersforchrist Only REAL FOOL would believe an invisible cosmic tyrant who would demand a blood sacrifice to forgive the race of 'sinners' that he himself created, then fathered himself as a human, and had the humans nail him to a piece of wood, none of which mattered anyway since he can't be killed and got up three days later without even a hangover.

What a load of bollocks. You want to think you're saved from nothing? - go ahead. Just don't tell us to believe your crazy nonsense. Idiot.

  • @tigersforchrist wow you just made hitch's point! believe or hell??????

  • @fatchodeinyourmouth You Coward, first you slander me, then you post my personal information, then you close your account and run away like a little baby, how pathetic you are...

  • That was another brilliant Deconstruct. Plenty of Proof on his assessment. That was a few years ago and now, on February 2012, roughly 9 months away from the Presidential Election, we see the Tea Party looked down upon by most Americans; and Sarah Palin, cashing in like a Hedge Fund Manager on her minions, abandoning her State as Governor and negating herself an opportunity at the Presidency, after teasing them like a Dancing (traveling) Spider. We'll miss you, Mr. Hitchens.

  • @Salararius i believe in freedom of speech, so when the tea party people speak you can clearly see how ignorant they are, LOL!

  • @fatchodeinyourmouth thats right get all angry and start with the hatred and abusive language, the truth will piss you off before it sets you free, i rest my case

  • I might have some respect for the tea party movement if they could admit Palin is a grifter...

  • @Salararius leave us face it, Hitch is just saying it the way it is no matter his home country, the tea party people who believe in god, guns and think sarah palin is sincere are morons.

  • "They look down on countries where the government tries to make sure everyone's life works out." No government has the ability to make sure everyone's life "works out". That's some pretty heavy statism to believe that it does, or even should. I agree with the rest of what Hitchens is saying, but I think if he thought this one statement through, he would consider it somewhat fatuous.

  • @MichaelTheOliver he is talking about the attitude in the more progressive countries where people are concerned about others and try to work together instead the the American attitude of greed and to hell with others "I got mine, too bad for you" as demonstrated in the disdain for universal healthcare for their citizens.

  • British arrogance against the American or Canadian pioneer, or as he calls them, 'yokels' is still pervasive today. It took guts & great faith to make that crossing all those years ago. I feel there is a guilty stigma attached to those that stayed behind they just can't shake. Is anyone surprised at a Brit. taking shots at the Tea Party. Who is he to do so, what is this to him?

  • @q1w2e3r467 He spent half his life living in America and has been immersed in discussing our economy/politics/history since the early 80s. I think he has a right to have an opinion on the Tea Party.

  • @q1w2e3r467 He was an American citizen when he died. Just to clarify.

  • @q1w2e3r467 Corrections: It took either a sentence of "transportation", greed or, in the case of the Puritans, a burning desire to persecute against other religions to make the crossing.

And Hitchens - a naturalized American, with biographies on Jefferson and Paine under his belt - takes shots at the tea Party because he is not stupid.

  • @q1w2e3r467 Those pioneers were brits

  • @q1w2e3r467 it's probably something to do with the fact that if the tea party ever got into power your (i'm assuming your american) would fall to shit through ignorance, incompetence and the lacking of a sense of reality. We are all entitled to our opinions.

  • Palin is the biggest gift the right ever gave to the left.

  • Thank you for posting this, TheStevenBlue.

  • Voice of reason will be missed

  • @dragan221 I've seen him speaking about the Tea Party folks in other videos and as far as I can tell, he's got them pegged.

The Tea Party folks are trapped in this fantasy-world recollection of a country that never existed and they're demanding we return to it.

It is a strange combination of ignorance and pathos. Some of them are undoubtedly good and decent people and the country might indeed be a better place if it more closely resembled their imaginations. But facts remain.

  • @Gwynne66 nothing corrupts good people like religion and nationalism. Look at WWII Germany if you need proof.

  • It's called being smart. Not arrogance.

  • He was absolutely right about Palin. Not only did she cash out but she did some sitcoms as well.

  • @jercraigg I see that is wrong now ...Hope you didn't watch this knuckleheads interviews on tv or purchased his books because he cashed out...before he checked out LOL

  • The Hitch is obviously right, but it's not that stellar of a production. I knew the same thing about Palin during the last election when she blew $150k on her wardrobe and one of McCain's aides remarked on the "hillbillies looting from Neiman Marcus coast to coast". She was always in it for the loot and the fame, I honestly didn't think she'd go as far as the reality show though. Teabaggers make satire obsolete.

  • Sarah Penis has a Cock!!!!

  • @manmachine30 I don't believe Sarah Palin has a male appendage but she quite possibly has more balls than you.

  • @Jakexx01 Don't think so my dear citizen. But i know that she does have the balls to believe that the Earth is 6000 years old.

  • And whaddya know, it's exactly what Palin did. Well, I never bought her book or watched her TV show. She has none of my money.

  • @ThePintsizeslasher Your overuse and incorrect (at least in your reply to me) use of the phrase "non sequitur" is duly noted. Either you don't understand logic, or you don't understand history. Clearly your biased and zealous stance has blinded you, seen in the fact that you apparently took away "excusing imperialism" from my reply. In fact my comment was no such thing. But ok, go back to your YouTube professing, professor.

  • @BOKNOWSCOMPUTERS Fake user

  • @BOKNOWSCOMPUTERS What is dumb? explain yourself, please.

  • @satanidomini Then why do you use the Internet and YouTube? If you're going to preach your stupidity, then get off these American inventions. If you want the Internet, YouTube, GPS, etc etc than you have to take mcdonalds too, dumbie. You know who's fault it is for people being lazy and fat? The lazy and fat people's fault, smart guy. Americans try blaming McDonalds for being fat too, and that shit doesn't work. You're fat because you ate the food, period. Irresponsible idiots. If it wasn't for

  • @ThePintsizeslasher cont. nations to ever exist, wouldn't be imperialistic? Of course America is imperialistic; it was a British *colony* for crying out loud, meaning that it was an imperialist endeavor from the get-go. America was (and still is) young, and doing what they knew best, they established themselves through imperialistic (and otherwise) means. That's how the country gained it's power, just like innumerable nations before them.

  • @BER2ERKER

Sorry I just now saw your comments though I don't see much a point. You simply excuse away US imperialism with fallacies - argument from tradition and non sequitur. Simply because other nations do atrocities doesn't mean the US gov't isn't responsible for it, and regardless of the ethnic makeup of the US today, past crimes occurred and every immigrant benefits from the theft of land and the marginalization of Natives.

  • @ThePintsizeslasher And why do

you think that is? Are you as good with history as you believe you are? Firstly, America today isn't almost all Englishmen as it was when slavery and American Indian (that's what they actually prefer to be called) genocide occurred. It's not better or worse, but these instances are not related to vast amounts of ethnicities that live there today. Most importantly, did you think a country born of Britain, one of the most (if not the number 1 most) imperialistic nat

  • @korpiz yes, but any decision they make has to be approved in a national law court...they dispense justice in mosques which is willingfully obeyed by muslims; nothing can be enforced as they have no legal power alone. I wish they didn't exist as they perpetuate sexism and bigotry, but it is daily mail propaganda that suggests they have state or legal power of any sort.

  • What talk is this? Is it available in full anywhere?

  • @satanidomini Yeah, Hitchens appeared to be saying that Palin had some plan all along, and even though I believe she knew it was about the money there no doubt would have been some serious cognitive dissonance justifying her actions to herself. He seemed to give her brain more credit than it deserved.

  • He is exactly right about Sarah Palin. She took a bunch of donations for her foundations, led the media on a wild goose chase, spoke around the nation, and then declined to run for President. "Opportunist" is really the only way to put it.

  • @satanidomini Ok I am discussing politics and your discussing products. Distinct difference. But since you mentioned our products destroying your culture, why don't you share your opinion about British Petroleum destroying our entire Gulf Coast. See your corrupt company came to my country and because of greed dumped trillions of Gallons of oil into our waters. At least you can choose not to eat at McDonald. What choice did we have with British Greed?

  • @NOISLAMINUSA Firstly, if you don't understand that selling products abroad is relevant to your argument regarding an American policy of isolation, then you really are a moron. Secondly, the only mistake BP made was contracting a bunch of useless Americans to dig the oil for them. And I suppose the American war on Iraq was to help the Iraqis, and nothing to do with American greed for oil. And lastly, stop using your instead of you're. It's annoying when someone doesn't understand basic English.

  • Isolationism - the policy or doctrine of isolating one's country from the affairs of other nations by declining to enter into alliances. BP was responsible for drilling without required safe guards, that only cost them an additional 100,000 to install . Hence the reason BP was fined and payed restoration, to victims and residence. Frankly I don't concern myself with petty grammar on youtube. Silly Cunt. When will Brits get their own Youtube and stay on their side of the pond?

  • @NOISLAMINUSA BP isn't British - in case you forgot in your hurry to point fingers. It was brought out by a conglomeration of US based investors and they left a couple of senior board members and share holders in so it would retain an air of "british". its why its called BP, not "British Petroleum" anymore. FYI

  • @richardellipsis Just so you know, its actually "Beyond Petroleum" now.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA I know you're a troll/bigot, but I just have to respond to your "When will Brits get their own Youtube"

Why don't you get your own "internet" or for that matter your own computer?

  • @darhug1968a Interestingly enough, we are seeing more and more frustrated Atheist Brits coming to America. Why are limies so interested in American politics and culture? Do us all a favor, fix your own failures in England then you can pull the log out of our eyes. England is an absolute cultural mess of Muslims, Hindus and free loaders.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA

Again I know I really shouldn't bother, but who are these mysterious "atheist Brits" other then Hitchens can you name one? Who moved to the US before becoming such a famous atheist.

  • @Eralun So don't bother.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA That's what I figured you'd say, Happy trolling!

  • @Eralun A wise an once said. Name calling is the last bastion of a weak mind.

  • He totally called the Palin situation.

  • he was so right about palin

  • Arrogant and bitter.

  • @jryo87 ya he may sound arrogant, but is he wrong about anything he said? He was spot on about what Palin would do almost a year before it actually came to fruition. Are you really so bitter and immature that when someone speaks counter/against (and happens to becorrect) to your viewpoint of the world, that you need to resort to name calling and insults because in your heart you know he is correct and you have no way to prove him wrong?

  • @MathieuLJohnson he are that, he are.

  • @MathieuLJohnson It's not really arrogant to state facts in a convincing way. I think you conceded rather too much to "jryo87" when you said "he may sound arrogant"; he sounds like he's thinking.

  • @MathieuLJohnson he only sounds arrogant because of his accent. haha.

  • @MathieuLJohnson Spot on, he was 100% right on Sarah Palin

  • @seansalvador1 many 'multicultural' countries were successful prior to the immigration- hence why people came in the first place- so the fact that northern europe is relatively successful and relatively multicultural is no argument. I'm not against multiculturalism, it's just that people need to abandon superstitious hatreds and bigotry first-the veil is an insult to women.

  • called it @ 3:13, thought it was pretty obvious to begin with.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA personally I think multiculturalism will only ever work in a secular/atheist society, and you're right that muslims have been using intimidation and violence to curb free speech in all of northern europe. That doesnt change the fact that he was telling plain lies- sharia law is not in our courts in any way and the government is not implementing anything like it...he was talking out of his arse to scare people.

  • @0TheGuru0

Show me a country that can be called multicultural and i'll show you a successful country.

  • @seansalvador1 Go ahead, name a successful multi cultural country that is more so after the open boarder policies.

  • @XpEAnUTBuTtERsUckSX "that is more so after the open boarder policies."

I never mentioned anything about illegal immigration or open borders... although i do freely admit that lines on a map mean absolutely fuck all to me or any other reasonable human being.

  • @seansalvador1 You dogged my question, also in a world with numerous( I probably agree with you about the irrationality of them objectively, who wouldn't?) divisions, with each division having it's own culture\laws\economic status which vastly varies in some cases it is retarded to merge them, multiculturalism and globalisation is reducing living standards, outsourcing manufacturing jobs of the richest nations to that of the poorer (due to slave labour exploitation e.c.t) and causing racism.

  • @seansalvador1 Any sort of border abolishment has to be done very damn carefully, the same laws must apply everywhere for a start or all wealth will be sucked from the middle\working classes and directly transferred to the richest, it's already happening.

  • @XpEAnUTBuTtERsUckSX "border abolishment" made me giggle like a child.

  • @seansalvador1 Wow, you've created a new level of mental retardation.

  • @XpEAnUTBuTtERsUckSX

Borders are not systems, practices or institutions.

  • Exactly what Palin did - cashed out. Good call on CH's part.

  • Best description of Palin I have ever heard...

  • Unfortunately Hitchens was incapable of seeing or refused to see how dangerous these ignorant rednecks like Sarah Palin and George Bush really are. Palin's pastor admitted that she would have no second thoughts about pressing the nucleur button. Bush and PNAC and USA full spectrum dominance are there for all to see.

  • I'm from Texas and a big fan of

Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Brian Cox, Ben Goldacre, and countless physicists. its sad that most people have only heard of one or two and even depressing when they have heard none of them speak.

  • @dyingtodeath

I note that you refrained from mentioning what it is he said that you disagreed with, maybe it's his tone?

  • He had Palin worked out.

  • @KenyanObama

    What's your point?

  • @NOISLAMINUSA idiot

  • @NOISLAMINUSA

Hitchens was an American citizen at this point.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA Why are you so uncivilised?

  • You must be some Anti American freedom hating Brit, right? Well I don't know. Maybe I just love the idea that we left England for a good reason and prefer Brits, keep their politics at home. We stay out of their culture and they stay out of ours. It's called Isolationism. Ever heard of it? It is quite unique and historically American culture.

  • Comment removed

  • @NOISLAMINUSA Are you serious? I think you're pulling my leg eh. I mean you're pretty comical. The idea that America has a culture of Isolationism is just so ridiculous, that I doubt anyone could really believe it. As someone who has worked for 10 years for an American brand, I personally know a few dozen Americans who would tell you you're completely wrong. But if you are serious, I would sincerely love to know where you get your history from. Sources please?

  • Sir...you obviously have not read our U.S History, or your a foreigner. America has a long history of Isolationist tendencies, and was only recently propelled into Globalism, by WW2. I don't have time to educate you sir. But I suggest you read Thomas Paine - Common Sense and George Washington. Our first President and leading Isolationist . America ended Isolationism after Pearl Harbor. You sir are the Comic! or a fool.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA it is possible that you're confusing non-interventionism with isolationism. The United States has not really been known as an isolationist. I'm not American but I know what I'm saying is true. Even if the word was used by them, what they were weary of is "alliances" but never economic relationship

  • @testmark1 hes just trying to Troll you, I'm from Texas you have no idea how annoying these T-bags can be. they just spout nonsense and distort historical facts to suit their BS.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA so the french helping us in the revolutionary war was what?

and the fact that the country was built and populated by immigrants means what?

  • @NOISLAMINUSA "America has a long history of Isolationist tendencies"

No, they trade with several hundred other countries, they have embassies in them, they have many shared international brands, they have an openly interventionist policy regarding war... i could go on, but what i have said so far is enough to prove you utterly wrong.

  • "The great rule of conduct for us, in regard to foreign nations, is in

extending our commercial relations to have as little political

connection as possible... Why, by interweaving our destiny with that of

any part of Europe, entangle our peace and prosperity in the toils of

European ambition, rival-ships, interest, humor, or caprice?... It is our

true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of

the foreign world." GW Clearly your the Moron

  • @NOISLAMINUSA

So you admit you have no idea what the difference between non-interventionism and isolationism is.

    Bravo.

  • @seansalvador1 Your not even an American! STFU retard. You have no grasp of American Culture.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA

That's "you're", it's always funny to be called a retard by someone who cannot tell the difference between "your" and "you're".

  • @seansalvador1 Most people who blog as much as I do, don't spend all of their time worrying about perfect grammar. Especially given the limited text available. Sir..you could be perfect in your grammar, but that wouldn't change your ignorance of American culture. You are a foreigner.

  • @seansalvador1 Your only taking the last 65 years of American history into account. What about the rest of our history? America's majority has always preferred to avoid international affairs and wars. Now you can say that our Politicians have drug us kicking and screaming, into foreign conflicts, but that doesn't change the Isolationist views of its people. Open your mind and know the culture. Books don't always reflect popular cultural views and opinions. Dumb ass.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA "George Washington. Our first President and leading isolationist"

Tell me, who was it that designed the Jay Treaty?

    Fucking moron.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA the imperialist conquest of Hawaii, the imperialist conquest of Samoa, the opening of Japan, quelling the Boxer Rebellion the banana wars, numerous interventions and occupations in the carribean and south america and mexico, spanish-american war, imperialist conquest of the phillippines, all... before WWI. Then after intervening for American bank interests in Europe, the US intervened in the Russian Civil War, stationed Marines in China to protect Standard Oil...

  • @ThePintsizeslasher Again..your only discussing the last 65 years of American politics and not the larger history of our country, or our culture. Tell me something new foreigner.

  • @NOINTELLIGENCE

LOL. Someone failed history. The conquest of Hawaii happened in 1893! 119 years ago! Most of the interventions and imperialist conquests I mentioned were, as I said, before WWI - which began in 1914, US involvement in 1917, ended in 1918. In other words, most of what I mentioned occurred more than 95 years ago. The other events were all before WWII - MORE than 65 years ago. Of course all this ignores the conquest of North America and genocide of Native Americans.

  • @ThePintsizeslasher Yes in fact you did fail History. Given that we never conquered Hawaii and they freely elected to be a State with every Constitutional rights as any other State. You can not compare America to any Imperial nation and be respected. America is the only super power in world History, to never retain spoils of wars! you sir are ignorant if you think otherwise.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA

The US did help facilitate a coup that deposed the Hawaiian kingdom. And Hawaiians didn't "freely elect" to become a state they had to have a revolution filled with protests and strikes to become a state, which they did in 1954, after 57 years of being a "territory" and suffering from lower pay than the mainland and having near colonial status. In the meanwhile, the focus of Hawaiis economy on tourism has been disastrous.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA

Also the provisional government set up by Americans(though not necessarily American gov't agents) in Hawaii was brutal and tried to deport lepers.

Of course all of this is to distract from the fact that you asserted that the US had a tradition of isolationism only breached in the last 65 years - it does not. So now you've changed saying that the US has never kept the spoils of war. Obviously False. Puerto Rico, the Philippines, Okinawa, Guam the Mexican Cession.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA

.. the Mariana Islands, Samoa, military bases in countries we've defeated such as Germany and Italy, the Banana Wars were about nothing other than securing US economic interests that had to be enforced and seized at the barrel of a gun to the consternation of native populations and of course the numerous coups after WWII the US sponsored or contucted.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA

Oh, yes I forgot the opening of Japan occurred 149 years ago. And nice xenophobia.

  • @ThePintsizeslasher Interesting you use the term Xenophobia, given that Japan remains the most Xenophobic and racist culture in the world. Anyone with a grade school education would understand that fact.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA

Two wrongs don't make a right. Also dubious claims.

  • @ThePintsizeslasher Nothing dubious about that claim. Perhaps you should travel there and witness the establishments, which read no Gajin. Then you can educate me. Otherwise your just uninformed.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA

As well as beside the point. The US forcibly opened an isolationist country to trade, as it tried later to do with Korea.

  • @ThePintsizeslasher I think you missed the original point, or you just chose to over look it. America is defined by its Culture as majority Isolationist. Not our Government, but our people and its culture. If most Americans had their way, we would in fact cut off all international aid as well as leave the world to itself. If you don't know that, then you don't know Americans.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA

One of your original points to sean was that most Americans are generally isolationist and anti-war which is true, though not unique to Americans. However, I challenged your assertion that the US was only dragged out of its isolationist in the last 65 years. This is clearly false.

Calling the Japanese xenophobic was a non sequitur in regards to the history of the US gov intervening in foreign affairs for more than 65 years and fallaciously defends your xenophobia.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA

As an American, and a Texan I can say that quite a lot, though not the majority, of Americans are gung-ho about bombing some foreign people particularly if those people are seen as enemies of Israel. Most of us arent concerned with the rest of the world and would be happy to have the US gov't leave well enough alone.

  • @NOISLAMINUSA

He was a citizen f your country and commentated on your politics for decades. There is sometimes no excuse for ignorance.

  • @seansalvador1 Perhaps you should focus more on your own countries politics? That...or study more before replying with ignorant comments and insults. Kapish?

  • @NOISLAMINUSA

Perhaps it is you who should bother to read the words you write before clicking reply. Washington was in favor of non-interventionalism (for a while) but never isolationism, that is absurd!

  • @seansalvador1 Did you read Common Sense Troglodyte?

  • Couldn't have been more right, she made her money off those fools and cashed out

  • lol "this is no good..."

  • christopher taught me to think and doubt. He's not my Messiah.

  • @cygnus325 he'a US citizen who grew up in Britain. And, as a Brit, i can assure you sharia law is nowhere near our courts, so get your facts right. Your sacaremongering lies are not welcome.

  • @0TheGuru0 You should visit Paris sometime. I understand Muslims are violating their Secular laws each day and nobody will enforce them. Their just frankly too scared of backlash! Germany admits multiculturalism failed and now England is seeing Islamic violence there as well.

  • @0TheGuru0 but you are aware that there are state sanctioned Sharia courts for family law in England right?

  • @Cygnus325 Dude, Britain is not implementing Sharia law. Neither is the US, or any other western democracy. Politicians love people like you because you are so easily manipulated, and easily swayed by scare tactics.$100 bucks says you also believe Obama was born in Kenya, is a secret muslim, and is trying to turn america into a socialist country. Frigging pathetic.

  • @MathieuLJohnson I live in belgium, and Sharia IS being implemented in some majority populated muslim regions within Brussels as a parallel legal jurisdiction... There has been controversy because of many cases that would be unnacceptable in western europe, like for instance giving 1/3 of heritage to women and so on...

  • @MathieuLJohnson We would be better off if he were, though.

  • @MathieuLJohnson There are publicly-funded Muslim schools in America, and other modern countries, that are indeed pro-Sharia (including its nastier forms) which is not only unconstitutional, as per the U.S. constitution, but rather scary enough, w/o the false threat of Sharia immediately taking over Western democracies (even if that's, in fact, a stated goal of militants trying to murder as many Westerners as possible). And I bet you $1 billion I don't believe anything in your last paragraph.

  • @MathieuLJohnson Actually, I think Britain has already installed Sharia courts. They're voluntary at the moment; but one might want to take the long view and worry about the extent of Sharia courts' legitimisation inside the UK within a decade. Why have them at all? (Why bend the knee to one minority's special needs? Why not stick to the same law for everyone?

  • Hitch and Palin make a lot of money from saying ridiculous things. Its all about the money

  • @martinjackson909

What ridiculous things did he say?

  • @martinjackson909 What did he say that was ridiculous? Prove anything he said wrong. We'll wait...

  • @MathieuLJohnson How about the title of his most famous book? It doesn't more provocative than that.

  • Hitch said things about religion that I always wanted to say, but couldn't.

  • Mr Hitchens changed lives no matter what you want to believe. Thanks Christopher.

  • The world is smaller, and poorer with him gone. I have always believed that the only thing at the root of his "arrogance" was a desire to defend others from lies, even evil, as he worked (with his whole being) to understand it. I only hope his example lives on.

  • Rest in Peace Hitch - you where arrogant and narrow minded at times but all in all you ment well, had a good heart and showed a lot of wit

  • Wow, he was very accurate about Palin!

  • @DarkPrince1785 what the hell do you mean "wow"?

With all due respect to Hitchens, it wasn't hard to see through Palin.

The real surprise is that so many millions of americans are so pathetically gullible that they fell for such an obviously opportunistic simpleton as Palin.

Well, come to think of it, perhaps it's not so surprising.

    Fucking dumb americans.

  • This world is undeserving of men like Hitch.

  • I only started watching and reading about Hitch in the last 12 months but from what i saw and read i feel like i knew the man! I have learnt so much from him and will continue to read, watch, listen to him even after his death. An absolute legend!!! RIP Hitch
