  • @shadeofme12

Thanks for the compliments! This was one of our older videos. We have since acquired better sound equipment so our newer vids have better sound.

  • Better way to make roti, is have your favorite recipe of roti. You need two more things, a first a decent oven, gas or electric. Second you need a pizza stone. Preheat oven on bake a 500 degrees F. Roll out your roti before ready to put in oven after oven is preheated. Then switch the oven to broil and increase temp to 550 F. before placing the roti in oven lightly coat with water before placing on stone. Roti should take no longer than two minutes to cook. Most likely 1 to 1 1/2 min.

  • wwooow that is awesome!

my mum always use the 'tawa' and she turns it upside down.. which is a hassle for me because the tawa from india is ssooo heavy! lol but thanks i m gonna try it right now and surprise my dad! :D :D

  • Superb idea! Thanks

  • Hey ? what dough can we use? I didnt catch what you were saying Hetal

  • You can use Chapati dough. We have a video for Parath/Chapati dough.

  • This is the first time I have seen something so cute get eaten.

  • hiii i love your videos sooo much that I watch them all day whenever i have some time ...keep up the good work !!!!

a request i read in one of the comments that you got your roti platform in BBB, any idea on what the name is and what I shud ask for in the store... will they u/s if i ask it for roti platform.

  • Thanks for the compliment!

Regarding the rolling platform, it really is a marble 'Lazy Susan'...we use it to roll chapatis etc.

    Hope that helps.

  • Toaster, clever! It's faster on the grill, but as they pointed out, you have to stand there to allow others to eat it FRESH, but this way, everyone eats at the same time. Plus, it's a good way to get off the stove rotli at work. Seems like it'll go well with chole.

  • you know to stop your chakla thing from moving when you are rolling the roties, you can put a little piece of liner. The one used for lining the drawers etc.

  • Those roti looked like card board texture.

I think by putting into the toaster is insulting to Indian cooking.

Come on girls lets use a grill.

  • very wonderful...........thanks for sharing

  • Why do you crush it? What does that do?

  • What if i take the roti ( done on the tava )to my office and do the toaster part there. Will these come out to be good?

  • Yes, it will work out great!

  • you could just skip the toaster part and just put it over the open flame... way faster.

  • This is great for those that don't have gas

  • wooow, you girls are excellent, keep up!

  • :) smart

  • I feel like I'm cheating on vahchef watching your videos.

  • Gosh! Please don't...he is a good friend of ours! .

  • Hah! I'm kidding. My wife and I had attempted cooking Indian food for several years with mediocre results before I came across his youtube channel. Now, we make a few dishes that I feel are even better than our favorite Indian restaurant! That said, because Indian food is so dynamic and flexible, I'm excited to try your recipes as well. Subscribed!

  • great idea

  • I love tandoori naan. I always buy it at my local Wal.mart.

  • Man what dont they have at walmart

  • Curry is made all over. It isnt really made in India

  • this is such an innovative idea!

Keep up the good work ladies.

  • Thanks for the receipe.

  • wow!! u guys r awesome i can't hold my laugh.. i will try it tomorrow morning hehehe

  • instead of toaster ... cook one side and throw them in the oven

  • great invention

  • Very tricky guys, now I have go to watch the other video. Anyway that looked awesome.

  • 3:38 no dont put them in for a few more minutes please i like them that way.

  • who cares for your prefrence of your roti liking

  • wow..nice technique of cooking them in the toaster!!!! Thank u for all the wonderful recipes:)

  • with ghee or butter.

  • Ghee?

  • ghee is basically a form of refined butter.its an indian term.

  • Indian version of clarified butter to be exact.

  • one spoon of oil is repacing with what in tandoori roti? reply plz thanx

  • Very Smart way of making tandoori, I like the idea of using toaster. excellent 5*/5

  • nice video..very nice tip making it in a toaster..but isn't tandoori roti made with all purpose flour? Please reply, thanks

  • Tandoori roti is made with wheat flour (atta) but naan is made with all purpose flour (maida).

  • great video !

i used to make these but always put them in hot oil and pressed down on them so they would puff up..(aka balloon bread?)

great idea using the toaster ,,,much healthier!

    you gals rock!!

  • were you frying them in the hot oil? because then you were making puris. still pretty tasty!

  • i like puris lol

  • Indian food is so comforting, warm and refreshing.

  • 5 stars!

Can you do the first part, then freeze them, then take them out and put them in toaster after being frozen and have them like new?

  • We have never tried to freeze them, but they work very well refrigerated - they still puff up.

  • Recently discovered ur videos they r gud Wanted to know where can I get Electric rotimakerAny idea please let me know

  • i watched a lot of your receipes... u r the best cooks

  • Nice recipe but the toaster limits the size of the roti. I toast/fluff up the rotis directly onto the gas flame. This adds the smoky flavor which instantly reminds you of the tandoor and is also much faster.

    !!

  • A couple of days. I made them and then kept them in the fridge overnight, wrapped in foil. The next day, I brought them down to room-temp and then put them in the the toaster. They still puffed up very well.

  • how long will the dough or half cooked rotis keep in the fridge? Id like to make some in advance and then put in toaster for breakfast before work.

  • i just made one..GREAT..make sure the paira isnt tooo big

  • hey guys.. fabulous work.. can u suggest wich brand of aata wud be best fer makin rotis etc.. i am at wits end tryin to figure out.. wich ataa makes d best soft light rotis..

  • We have had pretty good results with Laxmi Brand.

  • Thanks...they do look adorable (if we may say so ourselves)!

The rolling platform is actually a lazy susan and can be bought at a bed, bath and beyond or linen and things or any kitchen gaget store. I bought mine ages ago.

  • omg, the roties are so cute!!!!!! and I loved your marble roti-rollin platform. :) Would you please tell me from where did you get it?
