  • Anne's voice is so reminicent of the great singers of the 50's. Clearly a talented woman. Beautiful song .

  • Terrific rendition by Anne of Petula Clark's UK #1 . . . this version reached UK #10 the same month . . . February 1961.

  • BRT: I joined the RN in 1965, and my mother used to sing this song in the pub. I wasn;t really embarassed, cos she enjoyed itso much.

  • Anne Shelton sang the song "I.T.A.LY " (means I trust and love you)

It was very popular in the late fifties.

If anyone has this, please share with everyone.

    Would appreciate it very much

  • finally got hold of it, great song, heard so many times on air from the radio in the 50s, then slowly disappeared as radio DJ s playing this sort of oldies getting less & less, so pleased to find it on youtube.. ,

  • @shatinterry Thanks so much for the sharing....likewise to Joans20thCentury for having it uploaded. A very beautiful rendition by Anne Shelton.

  • Anne shelton was a beautiful lady with a beautiful voice

  • Thank you for posting.Anne was without doubt the best female singer since the early 40s. A rich mezzo-voice she could have been a classical singer which she proved in a glorious version of Greensleeves with enormous orchestra. I know classical singers who consider her version as a standard!!! In my country Holland they would say to young arrogant singers:Who do you think you are,Anne Shelton?! which explains how admired she was over here. Her album with Irish Folksongs is a real gem.Great person

  • does anyone know of a version of this song by eileen rodgers it would made o great posting.

  • A fantastic song and pic show. My eldest brother jonined the RN in the 60s when this song was played a lot on Sunday radio (2 way family favourites). I joined the RN in 1970 (Falklands in 82) loved the song then and still do. Really can identify with the pics. Brilliant! xx
