@MozartFan2 Yes. We discovered that at 3 and 1 month when he corrected his of key mother from across the room while he was looking out the window. If we play any 6 keys he can name them instantly. When he was 4 he would tell us when keys are broken, meaning out of tune and even when they were almost broken - soon to be out of tune. Difficult to get him to sight read, as he hears plays and remembers. He also learns music being played at the same time as his own, when playing duets and concertos.
i dont know many 5 year olds relating to classical music and playing it by ear! great job kid, let those hands grow with your brain and you will be a great musician :)
Thank you. The number of child haters out there is alarming. I'll never understand what can motivate somebody to say just very mean things about very young kids doing something they love.
@MozartFan2 Well, don't you think it's rather presumptuous to put what is objectively a rather ugly rendition of the piece and expect people to like it just because it's your kid?
@Chefodeath Good evening Chefodeath. I don't believe most consider a video of a 5 year-old doing something for the 1st time a "rendition". It's a video of a learning process/practice session. Furthermore, don't you think it is presumptuous for you to presume wrongly that I posted it and expect people to like if because he's my kid? BTW, the majority of people who view and comment do like it because they get it! No more time to waste on one who refers to himself as "Chefodeath".
@MozartFan2 It just means that people are going to come on here and give you a bunch of shit for putting your kid on Youtube. That's why I said it was presumptuous of you, you were presuming that people on the internet would be kind and appreciating towards your son and were suprised when they weren't.
@Chefodeath Oh, I see. I make no presumtion that people would like anything. Do you think that people should not post YouTube videos of their kids? Seems that way but I might be not understanding again. Nothing people do surprises me. However, bashing a child who is doing nothing more than trying to learn & improve seems a bit harsh. I believe most reasonable people agree. I also believe that if you have nothing kind to say, then best not to say anything. Positivity vs negativity is a choice.
Oh my god. I want to start whenever I want. :) That's the right opinion for a future pianist. Anyway... very cute boy playing very good for that age. Want to have a son like him. :)
@MozartFan2 They are just jellaouse, don't pay attention to them... your kid is amazing!!! I was in fact learning the alphabet at his age, and I would had loved to have his skill back then..
"Were you learning the alphabet at his age?" Now, THAT made me laugh. How can you be so arrogant? The kid recognizes some notes on the piano and you start thinking he's the next Mozart. Please, there are five year olds who can play the whole sonata.
@kady7206 Really, is that what I did? Actually, I don't recall saying, believing or even thinking for a moment he's the next Mozart. He has always enjoyed Mozart's music and he is truly a fan.
What kind of a troubled mind can watch this child, or any young child, working on their own to teach themselves music and have something really horrible to say about it? Is that action arrogant? It is troubling and shows the presence of deep flaws in their being.
When I turned the camera on, I was expecting to get his 2 handed version which, of course, is not really correct. What I got was something I'd never seen or heard before. You can see him making corrections to his previous version of the piece on the fly. Instead of just playing it, he is cleaning up the right hand. Nobody has shown him how to play this piece. He listens to it on his Ipod and adds to it on his own. He's stopped playing it because his hands are too small and that troubles him :(
This little boy is rad

@Chefodeath I'm not young enough to understand "trolled to death". Is that slang for something an old person like me might understand?

now play it with to hands..
for a 5 years old boy that's hard. so the tempo he uses is perfect for starting that song at that age.
It will be better if he tries with both hands...
but is really amazing =)
