how can i erase the other lines?

i clicked on the eraser, but it just paints the erased parts white!!!!

you go to the path panel.. if you can't see that go to window then path.

ok im havin another problem.....i made another leyer for my beams but it still makes these white spots or black on my pic.....i dunno what im doin wrong...

Yes, but that has nothing to do with making beams.

I would use Photoshop for that, and I used Photoshop for this specific tutorial.

You have to make a new layer for the beams, then that shouldn't happen.
