@crossledguy just wandering beside I had great memory about ice fishing whare the guy took the kid on the snow mobile and they would dig through the ice, use the sinking lure and catch a fish from the ice hole and then they would have dinner indore.

I watched these with my kids when they were little and they reinforced my goal to come to Alaska. Now I am here teaching, not in Noatak but in a nearby village in the Northwest Arctic Borough.

This must have been wonderful for kids from small towns and neighborhoods, to see people in a very different place live very differently. Many kids sometimes think of their neighborhood or town as their whole world, and this would really have been mindblowing and horizon-raising.

@CristinaFernandez some adults too, I was having an conversation with this adult about guns, and I told him in some states its okay for minors to uses guns under adult supervision. and he didn't believe me. I think he thinks the whole USA is made up of NY lol,

And don't talk for the anti fur people. fur if you wear it to keep warm in cold countries is okay because its for your survival.

It's funny to me, how little most of us Americans know about our own 49th state.  Alaska is just nowhere on most of our radars. That's probably why Sesame Street did this little series all those years ago.

The Alaskan sleigh dog racing was my favorite one. I hope jonnytbirdzback, or Nantovision has that film. It starts with a nice guitar music. Then when the race begins, We hear some sort of New Age music as it gets excited.

Yes, I do remember it. The ice fishing one was quite memorable too. I vividly remember the boy excitedly counting the fish he caught.
