If you don't think EMR's will be good for this country and its people then you have some major problems! EMR will allow doctors to find trends in diseases which will result in better treatment and care. It will help to create more preventive medicine so you no longer have to go to the doctor to get checked up. The government isn't going to look at your medical records and shoot you if you have certain gene characteristics. What are you honestly worried about with your medical records on file?

Interesting fact that back in 02' the GP running the show at latrobe university Bendigo -Dr A. Chan confided to me that Gov agents came into his office at the University where he has a general practise, and removed three filing cabinents of students medical records. I live in the most overgoverned country in the world but even then our Gov agents CANT legally access private medical records-

they have to steal them like any other dishounorable corrupted entity.

yes, there are several pilot programs... Commonwealth of Virginia, Veterans Affairs, Medicare, South Carolina, etc.  Linkages to states and feds mostly.
