I would have to disagree with some of your statements. Wings only help during cornering if they were place in front like F1 cars. It's true, 99% of stock cars that do come with rear wings/spoilers are purely cosmetic with the exception of sports car because their entire body was designed for better airflow so there is a difference in drag coefficient once the vehicle hits 60mph. This is because these cars use splitters, diffusers and deflectors as well, not just a wing/spoiler.
