Don't try to apply logic to disgustingly irrational stupidity. If god wants you to be in pain forever, you will be in pain forever. But what does it matter? This place doesn't exist anyway.
Contemplating the physiological effects of immortality, combined with eternal torture, is like trying to find a scientific explanation for vampires and werewolves. Just let myths be myths and stop trying to apply logic to them.
Jean Paul Satre said, "Hell is other people." I think that is true concerning the most religiously adherent. Just trying to tolerate to one of them is the closest thing to hell I have ever experienced. Lucky for me it wasn't eternal.
Isn't the fundy argument that everything resets itself? Once all your skin burns away, it grows back only to be burned away again? It's just another testament to God's profound love for us.
Hell is a real place. It's nothing to laugh about. Live a life that you can one day stand if front of Jesus and give an account of without feeling too ashamed. Good luck.
@guyNbluejeans hell real? Religion is the root of evil."With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion."
@guyNbluejeans If someone who believed in a completely different religion threatened you with its version of hell I doubt very much that you'd be even slightly impressed, just as non-christians aren't even slightly impressed by your religion's hell. I'm not trying to start an argument. I'm merely trying to get you to understand that people who don't believe in your hell think warnings about going there are pretty silly. That's why we make jokes about it. It's like saying Santa will give us coal.
@guyNbluejeans I was speaking for others who feel the way I do. There are others, you know. They post videos and comments on YouTube, create Web sites, blogs, cartoons, etc.
But, of course, you completely ignored my point that your religion's version of hell is just as nonsensical to those of us who don't believe in it as another religion's version of hell is to you. It really is like telling an adult that Santa will leave coal in her/his stocking. Really. It is. Like it or not.
@YY4Me133 You seem to have a Santa/coal fetish. I'm not so interested in it, but do wonder about what you mean when you say "... as another religion's version of hell is to you." So, what other religions do you refer to and what is their view of hell? (You sound like some kind of expert.)
@guyNbluejeans You keep ignoring my point. It should be obvious that threatening people with a hell they don't believe in is a waste of time. If you don't get that, I don't know what else to say. I don't believe in a hell, yet I'm capable of understanding that some people do. You seem incapable of understanding that some people don't. I don't have a Santa/coal fetish. I'm telling you that the threat of going to hell is equal to the threat of getting coal because neither is going to happen.
Makes you wonder how stupid those dudes sitting around the campfire and watching sheep were to believe this sh*t the first time around. Seems like someone would've called bs and corrected the issue before it was greenlighted for the masses. How 'bout you are "reborn" after each agonizing death? Hey, Popeness, write that in under Decimus 3:12 "Thou shalt be burned for eternity. Each toasting shall be as the first. So say I." (cue thefake thunder)
Makes you wonder how stupid those dudes sitting around the campfire and watching sheep were to believe this sh*t the first time around. Seems like someone would've called bs and corrected the issue before it was greenlighted for the masses. Possibly, you are reborn after each agonizing death, this way you would experience each burning death as if it were the first time. Hey, Popeness...write that in under Decimus 3:12 "Thou shalt be burned for eternity...each burning shall be as the first.
Actually. It wouldn't be pain tolerance. Say we did have a physical body in hell that didn't get consumed. The Chemicals that dull pain would eventually over load us and either give us a heart attack and we'd DIE!(pretty impossible since we're DEAD ALREADY)
Or it would rewire us and pain would become pleasure.
Hell is hell for a week. After that it's Heaven. Or possibly better.
@poopoopaula101 Both true and incorrect at the same time. The term eternal refers to a form of time. However, time is a material thing, but if we're going to bring up material issues, then we must realize pain is also a material thing.
@Microtardz cool beans..never said hell exists..i said IF hell exists.. because if it did it would clearly be of something other than this worlds understanding and clearly a creator would be able to inflict pain on us for the life that we have lived on earth in ways we would not be able to understand..so this is not a logicial based explanation but if we are talking about something supernatural as hell, then clearly something exists in that place to hurt us forever.
@Microtardz sorry..i cant hide my faith..i believe in Jesus Christ the risen lord and love him very much..give Christianity a solid chance..we can argue about what the afterlife may or may not bring or even its existence at all..i dont let hell be a scare tactic to fuel my beliefs, and this would never be why i would tell you to become christian or even to give religion a chance..the fact is the afterlife is scary, and it would be terrible to not give it a continual lifetime opportunity
@gymclasshero88 "The afterlife is scary" considering there is one at all...
I gave Christianity a chance when I was 12-13, if you expect me to believe in it, now you're going to have to jump through some hoops. Rather than me jumping through hoops.
I knew you were Christian by your recent activity section on your channel. Which is why I said, evidence that hell exists in the first place.
But seeing as you use the word faith, and have poor arguments, you probably have nothing to offer.
@Microtardz I was not prepared for to have an argument..however checking your channel, clearly you are constantly ready for debate..what happened when you were 12-13? i went to church and didnt care for it at all myself..thats when i walked away from the church and later as an adult i went back and felt nothing..but i continued to pray and have seen my life take shape in unimaginable ways..things that cannot be explained in my life and the life of others..and that is why i shall remain christian
@gymclasshero88 ".things that cannot be explained in my life and the life of others" A question when I was 12 came up. Is it possible for god to ever be wrong?
I think Darkmatter2525 has a video on this. It goes like this, A kid gets shot at and every bullet missed. God saved him. A kid gets shot at and a few bullets hit, but he lives. God saved him. A kid gets shot and is paralyzed for life, god saved him. A kid is shot and is killed. He goes to heaven. God saved him.
There is another hell, it's called heaven. You get to look down from on high watching those you care about being tortured for all eternity. Knowing if you had been a better christian they wouldn't have to be there. 'Cause you couldn't get off you arse and tell someone the good word. All those millions in africa, india, russia, china.
It's okay though, I'm sure there is booze in heaven. It would be the only thing to help you forget....
@sigmata0 there's booze in my heaven, and a stripper factory. can't wait, I might just put a jihad on a chocolate biscuit and a cup of tea, read a nice book then suicide bomb myself right out of existence. By the way I hate your religion, I hate them all equally keep in mind, but I hate your specifically.
you dont have a physical body DUMBASS, this video was pointless considering he was wrong the whole time...If your gonna say christianity is a lie then at least use the same format as us, otherwise your just proving yourself retarded
@findyourtipi2 1.thanks for calling me retarded, tho i am clearly am normal. that shows your immaturity. 2. your the one who's not smart, you can't even make a clear point. 12 year old troll
@findyourtipi2 didn't the idea of hell come from the Greeks, or perhaps a culture before that, the mesopotamians or something. The new testament hell is very different from the old testament.
@findyourtipi2 The point this video made was about hell, not against Christianity as a whole. You haven't supplied where it says one has a only a spirit in hell, although, I don't think this small point of religion isn't worth fighting over.
@findyourtipi2 You can't feel anything--let alone pain--without a physical body. You believe in this hell shit, so you are in no position to call anyone (other than yourself) a dumbass.
I heard the history channel talking about different levels of hell based on what your sins are. It was about people who believe hell is an actual physical place in the Earth lol.
A)Glad your backpedaling on Hellfire being forever so we can drop that- I said that it was being burnt up acc to the bible and you said that I "didnt Want" to believe the bible said that. I guess your saying I was right and it does not.
b) Sinners souls getting destroyed being "SICK PERIOD" well.. lots of things are sick. Serial killers and child molesters and corrupt politicians and tigers killing each others cubs are sick. Does being 'sick' make it not true?
@auraofgloom I'm not backpedaling on anything, whether hell fire is forever or not isn't important. I stated before that I don't believe the story about the rich man being in hell as a parable. You stated there's a lesson or point made from the story so its a parable which is nonsense. I also explained why its nonsense. Whether hell is temporary or not, it doesn't make a difference. No, something being sick doesn't make it not true but it makes your all loving and caring god contradict himself.
@auraofgloom So you choose what to believe...intresting. I'm glad you agree with me that a lot of other religions have predated Christianity. A bit more research and you'll find out a lot more things that are common including the relationship to your religion and the ones that preceded it. People choose? You bought into that retarded saying? No one chooses what to believe. Putting faith in the wrong thing is choosing? Believe in me or burn, but I love you. Thats the contradiction.
You STILL dont have any passage to show eternal burning do you?
You WISH the bible said that is what I suspect... keep up the ignorance your as good as any preacher yelling hellfire and aboutr as honest.
Where DOes it say that people burn forever?
Whatever... your going in circles to cover the fact that you CANT FIND THE DAMN (no pun) passage but STILL want to say that it promises eternal fire so you feel good about rejecting it.
@auraofgloom Why are you on this topic of hell being forever or not so much? Why does it matter? I'm serious and I want you to answer this as well. Is it to say that you was right and I was wrong despite me using the rich man story as my example and you saying that its a parable because there's a point to it? What difference does it make? I'll burn you forever and you'll never die. I'll burn you for a little bit and you'll die...what difference does it make? Its sick, that was the point.
@auraofgloom Um...no I commented about the nerves ability to feel pain. Hell came up later and I've been stating the rich man story again and again and again, and you keep ignoring it. I like when you emphasize your words by using caps. YOU are not reading when I use the rich man as my example. How about this..how about you show me how the rich man being in hell is a parable other than that weak point about it having a lesson in it?
Prob a parable since the Chapter (Luke 16) starts with "..Jesus told his disciples:" and then told the tale of the shrewd manager... unless you also think thats a true story?
Damn dude, dont you have anything better to do Christmass eve?
@auraofgloom Jesus (who sees all and knows all) told his disciple a story and thats your reason? Read what you said and then you wonder why I say the things I say about this parable nonsense. Do I have anything else to do on Christmas eve..Actually I'm working on something at the same time but seem to be struggling to get it done but couldn't I ask you the same thing? No one is making you respond. Actually maybe some one is if you believe in predestination which is a whole different topic.
Actually LOL (freindly one) on predestination. It used to make me stay up nights wondering if i was only staying up wondering about it because I was predestined to be doing so....arghh
LOL I just gave up worrying about it after a while.
@auraofgloom Yeah, the same with my christian friend. The thought of it to me just gives more reasons to not believe that a all knowing being could exist. Predestination would have to result in some people going to hell in order for others to go to heaven. Not only that but I don't believe in any all loving being that would watch his children go the wrong way or be fooled by another faith and not show himself or even threaten them. I think thats just where we'll just agree to disagree.
As for the sinners- well, like i said being "sick"dont make it not true and why would God inflict all the bad people on thiose who are not?
Why let bad folks screw up the world again?
Seams logical to me- its people who choose to follow or not follow God and peple who choose their own fate.. As to retards and babies, we'll, i dont know for sure but would guess Gods got a place for them.
@auraofgloom I know that it doesn't make it true. Neither does hoping that something is true..like what faith is. You pray to pass your entrance exam after studying all night and you pass...big surprise, you studied. But you ignore th millions of people thats praying everyday for piece of bread and dying of hunger. Will you stop saying that, you sound like an idiot. How do you choose? I've learned about many religions...you say you feel something when you pray. What do you think the muslims say?
This is accepted as a parable... your grasping straws on that point.
yawn...I'm reading my biggles book and looking forward to sun rise.
I guess your ready to agree that I'm not sticking my head in the sand on the matter of hell being eternally burning then?
I'm not going to argue religion vs religion with you for reasons already stated, look on the bright side you can feel nice about being smarter then me.
@auraofgloom The world was accepted by many as being flat at one time but thats didn't make it so. I honestly don't care if hell is eternal or not, because it doesn't make it any better if its not. I asked you to explain to me why you believe what you believe. I guess its much like you said and as I thought, its a feeling which isn't based on truth. I don't know if I am smarter than you because many intelligent people are religious, I actually think you're very smart.
I'm trying to figure out why you won't answer my question. I'm also trying to figure out how this documentation about everyone having this "feeling" proves what you believe to be true. I'm trying to get to the meat of this debate and you're acting childish and holding on to things that are not important. I'll ask again, why do you believe in what you believe and what makes your faith any more valid than anyone else? If you're not gonna answer it,don't bother respond.
If you had been bothered to research the subject a little on the matter of "religious feelings' you would find the brain scans that show changes to the brain during these "religious feelings'... now if you had argued about what they mean then you might make sense- instead you choose to just dismiss information not fitted to your worldview- thats not a crime but please dont try to wear the mantel of Science while doing so.
I don't believe that the story about the rich man looking up and seeing God in heaven is a parable. Why should I? Because there's a lesson to learn? Life has many lessons, are these parables and thus not real? Why would the bible even describe hell the way it did?
Do you know that brain scans shows changes during music? I'm trying to get you to understand that you're not making a point with this research subject and I used the shroud of turin as an example.
@auraofgloom Dawkins is not my idol so please stop talking about him as if he is. He's just another person with his own opinions. Those verses were not to argue whether hell fire is forever. It was to counter your assertion that belief wasn't enough. Whether or not hell is forever is of no importance and I've been making that clear again and again and you seem to not be understanding that. Going to hell period is sick and you know it is and thats why you're stuck on this "temporary" issue.
Well, I dont believe in an eternity of burning in hell but I would doubt that you would develop pain tolerance to having your skin being burnt.
Pain is percived in the brain..so if the physical body you had in hell was set up to make your mind think it was in pain then you WOULD be in pain. Kind of like an experiment the army did trying to make peoples brains go into horror/fear mode with flashing lights...if it worked then their mind would have been in pain because the brain said so.
@auraofgloom Pain tolerance does exist. Pain is percieved by nerves which can actually get accustomed to pain which isn't a good thing being that feeling pain is a defensive/warning mechanism for the body. But being that we're talking about something spiritual, christians would just say god (notice the lower case g in god) can make it that we'll always feel pain so unfortunetly this video won't mean much to them.
Well-I am a christian and I still dont believe in burning in hell forever.
I agree that you could possibly burn your nerves out on pain but I think we're agreeing that if you THINK your in pain then you ARE.
I would think it unlikely that you would have a body if you got sent to hell after death anyway so it would have to be some kind of "matrix' like 'spirit body-basicly 'thinking' you were in pain- like phantom pain from lost limbs.
CAnt believe I'm actually thinking about this....
@auraofgloom "Well-I am a christian and I still dont believe in burning in hell forever."
Why don't you believe that people would burn in hell forever? My assumption is you don't want to believe it. The bible says nothing about hell being a temporary place. Most christians pick and choose what to believe so they feel better about what they read.
"CAnt believe I'm actually thinking about this...."
Take it from a ex-christian, THINK about these things, not enough people do.
Now, while I dont claim to be a biblical scholar I think that while many CHURCHES go on about burning forever in hell I dont think that its supported by the bible-"Rev 20: 14...The lake of fire is the second death."
I dont think you can say that the bible says that people get burnt FOREVER- just burnt up.
Could be wrong but I dont read it that way-hopefully avoid either one.
Take it from an ex-atheist - I have thought about those things.
@auraofgloom Ex-atheist doesn't hold any ground being that everyone was born an atheist and depending on their upbringing or the country that they were born in, they believed in which ever god, but thats not my point. The bible mentions a rich man who was in hell and by the depiction of that story it becomes clear that hell is not a temporary place for "sinners". It shouldn't matter if it is temporary or not, its sick and if you believe the bible word for word, you haven't thought about it.
On ex-atheists- I counter that all people are born with a knowledge of the Deity since religious experience has been found to have an associated area of the brain.
:) LOL
Luke 16 mentions the Rich man in hell, but it is however a PARABLE about good things in this world vs the next and not a blow by blow account of the afterlife- other parables show the after life being a feast or angels gathering the 'harvest' of believers into barns...would you say the Bible says that Heaven is a barn?
@auraofgloom Whats your source? Who is the Deity? People used to worship Zeus...I can give you links to back them up with. Saying that people are born knowing right ot wrong isn't valid neither. We are a product of our upbringing...thus why you believe in Jesus and someone from some other country believes in the religon most dominant there as well as its morals.
I never liked when christians talk about parables. They make up what is and what isn't. Hell and Heaven could be a parable.
Dr Michael Persinger or just google 'God on the Brain'.
I never specified A God-just that part of the Brain looks to be set up feel religious feelings. They tried it on Dawkin an he wasnt reciving LOL article!
If we're JUST a product of our upbringing then everyone would be like their parents and never become an atheist or change religion so I suspect your wrong on that.
YOU brought up the parable in question, so if you dont like it then why use it? Did you find any passages you DO like?
@auraofgloom Religious "feeling"...you actually buy into that? "If we're JUST a product of our upbringing then everyone would be like their parents and never become an atheist or change religion"...That doesn't apply for everyone, thats the majority. You can look this stuff up even though you don't even need to. Go ahead and find a muslim women and ask her daughter or son what they believe in. Why else you think ppl believed in Thor? It explained what they didn't understand. (continued...)
@auraofgloom I brought up the parable because I don't believe it is a parable. The bible was written by people with very little knowledge of the world and the nonsense they wrote, we call parables. Many people believe in Noah's ark, while many people had to call it a parable because of the nonsense of the entire story. The book of Revelation could be a parable. Who said these things are parable's to begin with?. How do you know the bible is the truth to begin with? Is that a "feeling" too?
Luke 16 was what you used to say Hell in the bible was being burnt for ever- if you read it you will see that it is a parable since it is a story Jesus is saying to make a point. How can you say it is NOT a parable? Anyway, do you have any NON-PARABLE passages that you want to make your point with or are you going to agree with my point that as I read it sinners dont burn alive forever.
Look- YOUR the one saying that the bible says that so show me where.
@auraofgloom When this great knowledge is taken serious in the science community kind've like how evolution is, I will too. I do appreciate the "evidence" but it just doesn't hold up. I mean the koran is considered evidence too. So because a story makes a point, its just a parable? A kid didn't look both ways, and got hit by a car, is that a parable? I would like for you to answer my questions about why you believe in what you believe in. This feeling thing isn't enough.
You know re-reading your post I am even more amazed that you mock people for their 'feelings' when you have not even read anything about the research-Dr Michael Persinger google 'God on the Brain'
This is actual real science done by real scientists, I expected that you would read it and then argue about what it meant- a valid argument.
Instead you go off on a tangent without study because YOU speak from a position of "faith" rather then reason-then accuse me of it.
@auraofgloom "Mock"?, pardon me...when did I mock your "feelings". Real scientist said that the shroud of turin was real, since then its been debunked. If it makes you feel any better, I'll read the article. If scientist told you that you have a everlasting desre to kill your mother...are you gonna agree with them? If you can answer that then maybe you can see where I'm coming from. How do I speak from a position of faith, faith is based on believing something without evidence. (continued...)
@1bzoe Nope- I said you were likely never a Christian because you defined it as "belief" where as I do not- to be a 'Christian" you have to follow Christ (its kinda in the name) to do that it would make sense to have an understanding ond knowledge of what he is reported to have said and done and the back ground of his story- this would mean an understanding, or at least knowledge of, the the Bible which you are not currently showing.
You say sinners burn Acc the bible- WHERE DOES IT SAY THAT?
@auraofgloom Mark 16:16, John 3:16, John 11:26, I can go on. Yes, I do know the bible, don't get hung up on the parable analogy. The old testament tells people to stone their kids if they don't obey you, and in the new testament, Jesus literally says that the these laws still stand. I'll ask you, where does it say that a sinner burns for a short time? Why does it even matter? A kid who grows up a muslim and dies a muslim will burn in hell, and you accept this as being moral and right? (Cont..)
My Faith is right- well, I never actually argued that with you since its a very subjective issue. I CAN argue it but if we're arguing from Theist vs Non- theist its a pretty pointless argument since to say one is MORE correct requires both parties to accept a theistic being.
I could talk about prophicies or miracles but if you dont believe IN them how could you be convinced one faith teaching holds an advantage over another?
There now WHERE does it say Sinners burn eternally?
How can you say that your faith is right? I don't have to accept a theistic being in order to agree with you. I require proof just like you require proof that Santa Claus is real. Why do religious people think we're in denial? If you brought us proof (you wouldn't need faith if you had proof) we'd believe it, but saying that the old testament said Jesus would come and he comes in the new isn't proof. If I see a person move a mountain (Matt 17:20 Mark 11:23) I'd deny it?
How would you argue that one religion is better then the other or accept any arguments thereof if YOU dont believe in a deity? It would be trying to argue Spiderman Vs MAgneto with you SINCE YOU BELIEVE NEITHER.
Its nothing but you trying to poke fun- your right but on your time.
If DAWKINS accepts the brain scan research is evidence that the brain is evolved to feel religion I would like to see your biology qualification so I can judge who would likely know more on the matter.
@auraofgloom Because we didn't all coming into the world believing in Santa Claus or even Jesus or any other beings. We were told, and based on how much we understood about life, we accepted it...thus why a great majority of christians were indoctrinated at a young age. You're seriously oblivious to this fact. The brain evolving to feel religion (which is something that predates Christianity) is no proof of a God but the fact that people always needed a way to understand why we are here.
D) as for the religious sense predating Christianity I never even mentioned that being the true religion because its a pointless argument with an atheist who accepts none of the religions being sorted through.
e)As for indoctrination, whats that got to do with anything anyway? People make up their own mind- you claim to have been a christian and now your not. I was an atheist and now I'm a christian.
Indoctrination only goes so far thanks to the wonderful mind that God gave us.
@auraofgloom I don't accept any religion because I don't have any reason to. Why can't you understand this simple thing? Tell me what makes you believe in jesus and not any other god. You sound as if you don't even know. Indoctrination has to do with the fact that if you was born in some other country, you'd most likely believe in the religion thats most dominant in that country. Thats a fact by the way, and I can bring statistics if you'd like. Wonderful minds? God? Lol which god again and how?
I was responding to YOUR 2 responses to my points about hell and the brain. So LOL right back to you for not proving either. But your not back pedaling.
If people were as mechanically programable as you say then we'd never have changed our veiws- I changed mine from atheism and you claim to have changed yours.
Bye and Merry Christmass- best thing we ever stole off the pagans.
@auraofgloom Whats with the capital letters and the constant laughing (LOL). You've been trying to turn this friendly debate into something else. I said that the majority of people are indoctrinated. Its like you don't read everything or you choose to ignore things. I never said everyone and I made it clear when I said "majority". Christianity stole a lot more from the pagans than you think and yes it goes deeper than Christmas. Like virgin births for example. Bye and same to you.
@1bzoe And here were back at the starting point- you say that I dont read everything in the bible because it 'hurts' me to think of some of it-when I show you that what i am saying is correct within the text you dont address that.
Look- I say the bible does NOT promise eternal burning and You said it does but I dont like to think about it... Well, I am still waiting for your passage that shows i'm burying my head and God promises eternal torment.
@auraofgloom You said bye so I assumed you was done. I made it clear that it doesn't matter whether or not it does and I explained for about the 3rd of fourth time that I believe the story of the rich man as not being a parable. Why? Because I have no reason to. Just because there's a lesson to be learned doesn't mean it didn't happen. Nevertheless, thats not important either way. Pick the right faith out of the thousands, and worship me, that sounds loving.
What makes me believe in Jesus is that when I pray my brain lights up and I feel him..or I choose too since you cant actually prove the non-existence of a God.
Oh... yes, your going to be saying santa now? OK, but I can PROVE he's not real by visiting the north pole- when you next visit heaven ck it out for me.
Be an atheist if you like, but dont be a grumpy git -your as bad as any fundie I ever knew.
PS
if you read the bible with a happy eye you see the same message all the way thru.
@auraofgloom No, I can't prove the non-existence of a god. I can't prove the non-existence of spongebob or peter pan neither. How do you prove that an invisible being isn't there? Actually if I tell you that Santa Claus is invisible kind've like what people believe about gods...then you couldn't prove that neither. Thats a weak point you was trying to make. How am I grumpy? I've been nothing but polite, it seems to me that anyone that goes against what you believe is "grumpy"...it would seem so.
Prof Dawkins (who subscribes to evolution to explain human development) thinks there could be an evolutionary advantage, not to believing in god, but to having a brain with the capacity to believe in god. That such faith exists is a by-product of enhanced intelligence."
I go back to what I said before, there were religions before the old testament was even written. You're hung up on this God on the Brain video which I've watched a bit of so far and don't understand what I am saying. Zeus was the explanation of lightning, which predates your religion. Religion has been around since the beginning so I have no doubt that people's brain could have evolved towards it. The question is, what does that have to do with your faith?
c) You said we're born Atheists and I countered that we are born with part of our brain set up for religion hence my saying that we have a religious sense.
I was just teasing but you took offence to it BUT I showed you evidence ACCEPTED by a well respected biological scientist who is ALSO known as an ATHEIST who accepted that part of our brain may be set up for religion.
I dont care if he is your idol- if your NOT better qualified then DAwkins I will take his word over yours.
@auraofgloom You were teasing. Right. You showed me evidence...yes. Did I not say that its believable that peoples brains could evolve with a brain set up for religion. Are you even reading everything I write. I stated that religion has been around for how many years and that it predates Christianity. Jesus is just another god in a long list of gods people have worshipped. I stated all this before. Dawkins has mentioned the stupidity of religion, why don't you take his word on that? I wonder.
On religious feelings- well, YOU say that people are born Atheist and become religious and I showed you experimental evidence that religious feelings is something built into the brain...since DAWKINS himself does not have a prob with this why do you? Did you read it?
Revelations is NOT a 'parable' a parable is a story to make a point- its kind obvious what IS because some one is TELLING YOU A STORY TO MAKE A POINT.
Dude, are you SURE you were a Christian before? Should know that.
@auraofgloom I'm not Dawkins, and I don't just believe something because some else does. I haven't read it mostly because I do believe that many ppl have a need to feel like they are special or that there is more to life than what is but I believe thats because of the religion filled world we live in. Not everyone agrees that they have this "feeling"...I don't. You're with the revelations/parable comparison and yes I was a christian, do you know what being a christian means? Its belief. (Cont..)
So you DIDNT read the article or know anything about the research but you dont believe it because it goes against your ideology...whatever. Your free to be as unscientific as you like I guess.
A PARABLE is a story told (ITC by Jesus) to make a point. Look it up in the dictionary. A vision or a myth IS NOT a parable. The parable you quote starts by narating that Jesus told this as a parable,,, again YOU SAY the bible promises burning forever WHERE DOES IT SAY SO?
Anyway, ther eason I ask if you were really a christian is that you dont know what a parable IS so how can you have been trying to follow Christ if you dont know the Manule? LOL I can SAY i believe in Buddha but if I dont know anything about him then I'm not really Buddhist am I?
Sorry, but I dont think you were a CHristian because your pretty ignorant of the bible, whatever Church you may have been in.
A seeking mind would also have read the scientific article pre-mocking
@auraofgloom You defined what a parable is, which I agree with and admitted I was wrong in calling most of Revelations a parable. You seem to be holding on to that and saying well I don't need to answer your questions...you were never a christian because you applied "parable" to something thats not one. I'm not gonna debate whether or not I was one, because there's nothing I can say that will make you believe me. Are you gonna answer my question about why you believe what you do?You ignoring it?
erm, hell isn't physical (it's an eternity without god), and if it were, I'm pretty sure the all powerful guy in the sky could override this pain tolerance
If I may make a comment without trying to start an arguement. The concept of a literal "fire and brimestone" concept of Hell is not something the Apostels taught. Hell is given many conflicting descriptions that don't work together. Hell is more complex than what fundamentials say. Fire and brimestone is a purly pagan concept that was adopted by islam and fundamentialists. If someone would like more information, feel free to send me a message.
@truthforchrist You misspelled apostles. And I believe you meant "fundamentialists". And it's spelled purely, not purly (pearly whites?). And it's brimstone...not brimestone...I'd contact you but I don't believe you could compose a coherant, correctly spelled and/or punctuated reply. This is, I suppose, among the myriad reasons one will not find literate, well educated, high functioning intellects in churches or other bastions of ignorance.
@KCKatheist Or maybee it's posslbe that english is not my primary language and thus, I'm not terribly great at spelling. It has no bearing on my knowledge and educational level.
While you're probably right in that in some way a person would get used to the pain, I doubt there is much personality left in them at that point. Is the person suffering at that point is an interesting question, but I think hell is nonetheless a successful punishment in the spirit of Orwell's 1984. And if the person were to have moments of clarity, seeing how low you've fallen would be the final nail to the coffin.
After enough time goes by, heaven and hell would be the same. After 1,343,445,322,334,343 years in heaven, you would have done everything that could bring happiness AND grown a "tolerance" for it so that it wouldn't make you happy anymore.
Hey guys, If you think my stupid shit is funny, check out this guy: DarkMatter2525: A true comical genius!! His stuff is waaaay more funny than mine! Be sure to sub him if you havn't -{bows to the master}-
ok then I'll be rude; Ive been working on a Noah flood script for like 4 months... 4 MONTHS MAN! Trying my damndest to get it perfect and not only did you beat me to it, your flood cartoon is 100 times better than what mine would have been... so fuck you!!! lol
You know im just kidding right... Darkmatter? ...pal? I was just joking, Eh... ok man, put the cow down and lets talk this out.......
Besides if you go by what the bible says, you should read about Lazarus. He clearly had a body in hell! Since its all BS, Im not too worried about it.
I'm not saying I believe in a soul (because I do not), but you can't use that kind of logic. Thats like saying, have you ever seen a thought? Do thoughts float out of people's head? Well of course not, but they still exist even though we can't see them.
However, like I said, I agree that a "soul" does not exist.
Hell has all the best music, while heaven has the best choreography.

Don't try to apply logic to disgustingly irrational stupidity. If god wants you to be in pain forever, you will be in pain forever. But what does it matter? This place doesn't exist anyway.

guyNbluejeans 7 months ago
@guyNbluejeans If someone who believed in a completely different religion threatened you with its version of hell I doubt very much that you'd be even slightly impressed, just as non-christians aren't even slightly impressed by your religion's hell. I'm not trying to start an argument. I'm merely trying to get you to understand that people who don't believe in your hell think warnings about going there are pretty silly. That's why we make jokes about it. It's like saying Santa will give us coal.
YY4Me133 7 months ago
@YY4Me133 You ought not presume to speak for others.
guyNbluejeans 7 months ago
@guyNbluejeans I was speaking for others who feel the way I do. There are others, you know. They post videos and comments on YouTube, create Web sites, blogs, cartoons, etc.
But, of course, you completely ignored my point that your religion's version of hell is just as nonsensical to those of us who don't believe in it as another religion's version of hell is to you. It really is like telling an adult that Santa will leave coal in her/his stocking. Really. It is. Like it or not.
YY4Me133 7 months ago
@YY4Me133 You seem to have a Santa/coal fetish. I'm not so interested in it, but do wonder about what you mean when you say "... as another religion's version of hell is to you." So, what other religions do you refer to and what is their view of hell? (You sound like some kind of expert.)
guyNbluejeans 7 months ago
@guyNbluejeans You keep ignoring my point. It should be obvious that threatening people with a hell they don't believe in is a waste of time. If you don't get that, I don't know what else to say. I don't believe in a hell, yet I'm capable of understanding that some people do. You seem incapable of understanding that some people don't. I don't have a Santa/coal fetish. I'm telling you that the threat of going to hell is equal to the threat of getting coal because neither is going to happen.

Microtardz 6 months ago
@Microtardz wow how wrong you are..if hell is real i dont think we would be able to understand it in a physical or chemical terms..
gymclasshero88 3 months ago
@gymclasshero88 Wow, how baseless your claims are.
Pain is purely physical through impulses coming from our nervous system.
A soul would not be capable of feeling pain due to it not having a nervous system or a body.
If you have any other logical explanation please share. And while you're at it.
Show some evidence that hell exists in the first place.
Microtardz 3 months ago
@Microtardz cool beans..never said hell exists..i said IF hell exists.. because if it did it would clearly be of something other than this worlds understanding and clearly a creator would be able to inflict pain on us for the life that we have lived on earth in ways we would not be able to understand..so this is not a logicial based explanation but if we are talking about something supernatural as hell, then clearly something exists in that place to hurt us forever.
gymclasshero88 3 months ago
@gymclasshero88 "then clearly" I don't like what you're implying here as it's completely baseless.
Yes it's beyond our understanding but that doesn't necessarily mean it defies any logic at all.
There are emotional pains and those are the only other non-physical pains we've ever felt.
So to say physical pain cannot exist without a nervous system is completely based on sound logical reasoning. Even if we bring up "the supernatural".
Our understanding of pain is ALSO limited. Therefore, the claim.

@Microtardz sorry..i cant hide my faith..i believe in Jesus Christ the risen lord and love him very much..give Christianity a solid chance..we can argue about what the afterlife may or may not bring or even its existence at all..i dont let hell be a scare tactic to fuel my beliefs, and this would never be why i would tell you to become christian or even to give religion a chance..the fact is the afterlife is scary, and it would be terrible to not give it a continual lifetime opportunity
gymclasshero88 3 months ago
@gymclasshero88 "The afterlife is scary" considering there is one at all...
I gave Christianity a chance when I was 12-13, if you expect me to believe in it, now you're going to have to jump through some hoops. Rather than me jumping through hoops.
I knew you were Christian by your recent activity section on your channel. Which is why I said, evidence that hell exists in the first place.
But seeing as you use the word faith, and have poor arguments, you probably have nothing to offer.
Microtardz 3 months ago
@Microtardz I was not prepared for to have an argument..however checking your channel, clearly you are constantly ready for debate..what happened when you were 12-13? i went to church and didnt care for it at all myself..thats when i walked away from the church and later as an adult i went back and felt nothing..but i continued to pray and have seen my life take shape in unimaginable ways..things that cannot be explained in my life and the life of others..and that is why i shall remain christian
gymclasshero88 3 months ago
@gymclasshero88 ".things that cannot be explained in my life and the life of others" A question when I was 12 came up. Is it possible for god to ever be wrong?
I think Darkmatter2525 has a video on this. It goes like this, A kid gets shot at and every bullet missed. God saved him. A kid gets shot at and a few bullets hit, but he lives. God saved him. A kid gets shot and is paralyzed for life, god saved him. A kid is shot and is killed. He goes to heaven. God saved him.
Is it possible to be wrong

A)Glad your backpedaling on Hellfire being forever so we can drop that- I said that it was being burnt up acc to the bible and you said that I "didnt Want" to believe the bible said that. I guess your saying I was right and it does not.
b) Sinners souls getting destroyed being "SICK PERIOD" well.. lots of things are sick. Serial killers and child molesters and corrupt politicians and tigers killing each others cubs are sick. Does being 'sick' make it not true?
Who "wants" to believe now?
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom I'm not backpedaling on anything, whether hell fire is forever or not isn't important. I stated before that I don't believe the story about the rich man being in hell as a parable. You stated there's a lesson or point made from the story so its a parable which is nonsense. I also explained why its nonsense. Whether hell is temporary or not, it doesn't make a difference. No, something being sick doesn't make it not true but it makes your all loving and caring god contradict himself.

You STILL dont have any passage to show eternal burning do you?
You WISH the bible said that is what I suspect... keep up the ignorance your as good as any preacher yelling hellfire and aboutr as honest.
Where DOes it say that people burn forever?
Whatever... your going in circles to cover the fact that you CANT FIND THE DAMN (no pun) passage but STILL want to say that it promises eternal fire so you feel good about rejecting it.
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom Why are you on this topic of hell being forever or not so much? Why does it matter? I'm serious and I want you to answer this as well. Is it to say that you was right and I was wrong despite me using the rich man story as my example and you saying that its a parable because there's a point to it? What difference does it make? I'll burn you forever and you'll never die. I'll burn you for a little bit and you'll die...what difference does it make? Its sick, that was the point.
1bzoe 1 year ago
@1bzoe I am on the tpoic of hell because it is YOU who answered me when i posted that I didnt believe that hell was eternaly being burnt.
You said I was not reading the bible for mental peace.
I showed you that it didnt say eternal fire
You say it does but CANT show me the passage.
You know i was just commenting on the mechanics-as did this vid, and said that the premise of hellfire was wrong.
It was YOUwho disagreed wih me.

1bzoe 1 year ago
@1bzoe
Prob a parable since the Chapter (Luke 16) starts with "..Jesus told his disciples:" and then told the tale of the shrewd manager... unless you also think thats a true story?
Damn dude, dont you have anything better to do Christmass eve?
auraofgloom 1 year ago

LOL I just gave up worrying about it after a while.
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom Yeah, the same with my christian friend. The thought of it to me just gives more reasons to not believe that a all knowing being could exist. Predestination would have to result in some people going to hell in order for others to go to heaven. Not only that but I don't believe in any all loving being that would watch his children go the wrong way or be fooled by another faith and not show himself or even threaten them. I think thats just where we'll just agree to disagree.
1bzoe 1 year ago
@1bzoe post 2
As for the sinners- well, like i said being "sick"dont make it not true and why would God inflict all the bad people on thiose who are not?
Why let bad folks screw up the world again?
Seams logical to me- its people who choose to follow or not follow God and peple who choose their own fate.. As to retards and babies, we'll, i dont know for sure but would guess Gods got a place for them.
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom I know that it doesn't make it true. Neither does hoping that something is true..like what faith is. You pray to pass your entrance exam after studying all night and you pass...big surprise, you studied. But you ignore th millions of people thats praying everyday for piece of bread and dying of hunger. Will you stop saying that, you sound like an idiot. How do you choose? I've learned about many religions...you say you feel something when you pray. What do you think the muslims say?
1bzoe 1 year ago
@1bzoe
This is accepted as a parable... your grasping straws on that point.
yawn...I'm reading my biggles book and looking forward to sun rise.
I guess your ready to agree that I'm not sticking my head in the sand on the matter of hell being eternally burning then?
I'm not going to argue religion vs religion with you for reasons already stated, look on the bright side you can feel nice about being smarter then me.
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom The world was accepted by many as being flat at one time but thats didn't make it so. I honestly don't care if hell is eternal or not, because it doesn't make it any better if its not. I asked you to explain to me why you believe what you believe. I guess its much like you said and as I thought, its a feeling which isn't based on truth. I don't know if I am smarter than you because many intelligent people are religious, I actually think you're very smart.

I'm trying to figure out why you won't answer my question. I'm also trying to figure out how this documentation about everyone having this "feeling" proves what you believe to be true.

@auraofgloom Post 2
1bzoe 1 year ago
@1bzoe You dont believe the story is a parable- even though it says that Jesus is talking in parables? Your Laughable.
Whatever- mark 16:16 CONDEMED not "Burn forever"
John 3:16 Shall not 'Perish' not "be burnt forever"
John 11:26 "Will not die" not "hellfire forever"
Now- this started because YOU say the bible promises eternal burning WELL WHERE?
You also say that we're 'born atheist' and have yet to even bother arguing my counter point (OK with Dawkins!!) that the brain is set up for religion
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom Dawkins is not my idol so please stop talking about him as if he is. He's just another person with his own opinions. Those verses were not to argue whether hell fire is forever. It was to counter your assertion that belief wasn't enough. Whether or not hell is forever is of no importance and I've been making that clear again and again and you seem to not be understanding that. Going to hell period is sick and you know it is and thats why you're stuck on this "temporary" issue.
1bzoe 1 year ago
Well, I dont believe in an eternity of burning in hell but I would doubt that you would develop pain tolerance to having your skin being burnt.
Pain is percived in the brain..so if the physical body you had in hell was set up to make your mind think it was in pain then you WOULD be in pain. Kind of like an experiment the army did trying to make peoples brains go into horror/fear mode with flashing lights...if it worked then their mind would have been in pain because the brain said so.
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom Pain tolerance does exist. Pain is percieved by nerves which can actually get accustomed to pain which isn't a good thing being that feeling pain is a defensive/warning mechanism for the body. But being that we're talking about something spiritual, christians would just say god (notice the lower case g in god) can make it that we'll always feel pain so unfortunetly this video won't mean much to them.
1bzoe 1 year ago
@1bzoe
CAnt believe I'm actually thinking about this....
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom "Well-I am a christian and I still dont believe in burning in hell forever."
Why don't you believe that people would burn in hell forever? My assumption is you don't want to believe it. The bible says nothing about hell being a temporary place. Most christians pick and choose what to believe so they feel better about what they read.
"CAnt believe I'm actually thinking about this...."
Take it from a ex-christian, THINK about these things, not enough people do.
1bzoe 1 year ago
@1bzoe
Does it actually say that?
Now, while I dont claim to be a biblical scholar I think that while many CHURCHES go on about burning forever in hell I dont think that its supported by the bible-"Rev 20: 14...The lake of fire is the second death."
I dont think you can say that the bible says that people get burnt FOREVER- just burnt up.
Could be wrong but I dont read it that way-hopefully avoid either one.
Take it from an ex-atheist - I have thought about those things.
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom Ex-atheist doesn't hold any ground being that everyone was born an atheist and depending on their upbringing or the country that they were born in, they believed in which ever god, but thats not my point. The bible mentions a rich man who was in hell and by the depiction of that story it becomes clear that hell is not a temporary place for "sinners". It shouldn't matter if it is temporary or not, its sick and if you believe the bible word for word, you haven't thought about it.
1bzoe 1 year ago
@1bzoe

1bzoe 1 year ago
@1bzoe
Did you find any passages you DO like?
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom Religious "feeling"...you actually buy into that? "If we're JUST a product of our upbringing then everyone would be like their parents and never become an atheist or change religion"...That doesn't apply for everyone, thats the majority. You can look this stuff up even though you don't even need to. Go ahead and find a muslim women and ask her daughter or son what they believe in. Why else you think ppl believed in Thor? It explained what they didn't understand. (continued...)
1bzoe 1 year ago
@auraofgloom I brought up the parable because I don't believe it is a parable. The bible was written by people with very little knowledge of the world and the nonsense they wrote, we call parables. Many people believe in Noah's ark, while many people had to call it a parable because of the nonsense of the entire story. The book of Revelation could be a parable. Who said these things are parable's to begin with?. How do you know the bible is the truth to begin with? Is that a "feeling" too?
1bzoe 1 year ago
@1bzoe

1bzoe 1 year ago
@1bzoe Posted later on
You know re-reading your post I am even more amazed that you mock people for their 'feelings' when you have not even read anything about the research-Dr Michael Persinger google 'God on the Brain'
This is actual real science done by real scientists, I expected that you would read it and then argue about what it meant- a valid argument.
Instead you go off on a tangent without study because YOU speak from a position of "faith" rather then reason-then accuse me of it.
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom "Mock"?, pardon me...when did I mock your "feelings". Real scientist said that the shroud of turin was real, since then its been debunked. If it makes you feel any better, I'll read the article. If scientist told you that you have a everlasting desre to kill your mother...are you gonna agree with them? If you can answer that then maybe you can see where I'm coming from. How do I speak from a position of faith, faith is based on believing something without evidence. (continued...)
1bzoe 1 year ago
@1bzoe Nope- I said you were likely never a Christian because you defined it as "belief" where as I do not- to be a 'Christian" you have to follow Christ (its kinda in the name) to do that it would make sense to have an understanding ond knowledge of what he is reported to have said and done and the back ground of his story- this would mean an understanding, or at least knowledge of, the the Bible which you are not currently showing.
You say sinners burn Acc the bible- WHERE DOES IT SAY THAT?
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom Mark 16:16, John 3:16, John 11:26, I can go on. Yes, I do know the bible, don't get hung up on the parable analogy. The old testament tells people to stone their kids if they don't obey you, and in the new testament, Jesus literally says that the these laws still stand. I'll ask you, where does it say that a sinner burns for a short time? Why does it even matter? A kid who grows up a muslim and dies a muslim will burn in hell, and you accept this as being moral and right? (Cont..)
1bzoe 1 year ago
@1bzoe Third Post
There now WHERE does it say Sinners burn eternally?
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom Post 3
1bzoe 1 year ago
@1bzoe Post2
If DAWKINS accepts the brain scan research is evidence that the brain is evolved to feel religion I would like to see your biology qualification so I can judge who would likely know more on the matter.
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom Because we didn't all coming into the world believing in Santa Claus or even Jesus or any other beings. We were told, and based on how much we understood about life, we accepted it...thus why a great majority of christians were indoctrinated at a young age. You're seriously oblivious to this fact. The brain evolving to feel religion (which is something that predates Christianity) is no proof of a God but the fact that people always needed a way to understand why we are here.
1bzoe 1 year ago
@1bzoe post 3
Indoctrination only goes so far thanks to the wonderful mind that God gave us.
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom I don't accept any religion because I don't have any reason to. Why can't you understand this simple thing? Tell me what makes you believe in jesus and not any other god. You sound as if you don't even know. Indoctrination has to do with the fact that if you was born in some other country, you'd most likely believe in the religion thats most dominant in that country. Thats a fact by the way, and I can bring statistics if you'd like. Wonderful minds? God? Lol which god again and how?
1bzoe 1 year ago
@1bzoe Post 2
I dont care if you accept religion or not.
Why cant YOU understand that?
I was responding to YOUR 2 responses to my points about hell and the brain. So LOL right back to you for not proving either. But your not back pedaling.
If people were as mechanically programable as you say then we'd never have changed our veiws- I changed mine from atheism and you claim to have changed yours.
Bye and Merry Christmass- best thing we ever stole off the pagans.
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom Whats with the capital letters and the constant laughing (LOL). You've been trying to turn this friendly debate into something else. I said that the majority of people are indoctrinated. Its like you don't read everything or you choose to ignore things. I never said everyone and I made it clear when I said "majority". Christianity stole a lot more from the pagans than you think and yes it goes deeper than Christmas. Like virgin births for example. Bye and same to you.
1bzoe 1 year ago
@1bzoe And here were back at the starting point- you say that I dont read everything in the bible because it 'hurts' me to think of some of it-when I show you that what i am saying is correct within the text you dont address that.
Look- I say the bible does NOT promise eternal burning and You said it does but I dont like to think about it... Well, I am still waiting for your passage that shows i'm burying my head and God promises eternal torment.
I think maybe YOU WANT the bible to say that?
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom You said bye so I assumed you was done. I made it clear that it doesn't matter whether or not it does and I explained for about the 3rd of fourth time that I believe the story of the rich man as not being a parable. Why? Because I have no reason to. Just because there's a lesson to be learned doesn't mean it didn't happen. Nevertheless, thats not important either way. Pick the right faith out of the thousands, and worship me, that sounds loving.
1bzoe 1 year ago
@1bzoe
PS
if you read the bible with a happy eye you see the same message all the way thru.
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom No, I can't prove the non-existence of a god. I can't prove the non-existence of spongebob or peter pan neither. How do you prove that an invisible being isn't there? Actually if I tell you that Santa Claus is invisible kind've like what people believe about gods...then you couldn't prove that neither. Thats a weak point you was trying to make. How am I grumpy? I've been nothing but polite, it seems to me that anyone that goes against what you believe is "grumpy"...it would seem so.

@1bzoe Post 3
"Could we have evolved religious belief?
Prof Dawkins (who subscribes to evolution to explain human development) thinks there could be an evolutionary advantage, not to believing in god, but to having a brain with the capacity to believe in god. That such faith exists is a by-product of enhanced intelligence."
Google God on the Brain

@auraofgloom Post 3
1bzoe 1 year ago
@1bzoe 2nd post
c) You said we're born Atheists and I countered that we are born with part of our brain set up for religion hence my saying that we have a religious sense.
I was just teasing but you took offence to it BUT I showed you evidence ACCEPTED by a well respected biological scientist who is ALSO known as an ATHEIST who accepted that part of our brain may be set up for religion.
I dont care if he is your idol- if your NOT better qualified then DAwkins I will take his word over yours.
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom You were teasing. Right. You showed me evidence...yes. Did I not say that its believable that peoples brains could evolve with a brain set up for religion. Are you even reading everything I write. I stated that religion has been around for how many years and that it predates Christianity. Jesus is just another god in a long list of gods people have worshipped. I stated all this before. Dawkins has mentioned the stupidity of religion, why don't you take his word on that? I wonder.
1bzoe 1 year ago
@1bzoe Post 2
Should know that.
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom I'm not Dawkins, and I don't just believe something because some else does. I haven't read it mostly because I do believe that many ppl have a need to feel like they are special or that there is more to life than what is but I believe thats because of the religion filled world we live in. Not everyone agrees that they have this "feeling"...I don't. You're with the revelations/parable comparison and yes I was a christian, do you know what being a christian means? Its belief. (Cont..)
1bzoe 1 year ago
@1bzoe
The parable you quote starts by narating that Jesus told this as a parable,,, again YOU SAY the bible promises burning forever WHERE DOES IT SAY SO?
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom Post 2
A seeking mind would also have read the scientific article pre-mocking
auraofgloom 1 year ago
@auraofgloom You defined what a parable is, which I agree with and admitted I was wrong in calling most of Revelations a parable. You seem to be holding on to that and saying well I don't need to answer your questions...you were never a christian because you applied "parable" to something thats not one. I'm not gonna debate whether or not I was one, because there's nothing I can say that will make you believe me. Are you gonna answer my question about why you believe what you do?You ignoring it?

If I may make a comment without trying to start an arguement. The concept of a literal "fire and brimestone" concept of Hell is not something the Apostels taught. Hell is given many conflicting descriptions that don't work together. Hell is more complex than what fundamentials say. Fire and brimestone is a purly pagan concept that was adopted by islam and fundamentialists. If someone would like more information, feel free to send me a message.
truthforchrist 1 year ago
@truthforchrist You misspelled apostles. And I believe you meant "fundamentialists". And it's spelled purely, not purly (pearly whites?). And it's brimstone...not brimestone...I'd contact you but I don't believe you could compose a coherant, correctly spelled and/or punctuated reply. This is, I suppose, among the myriad reasons one will not find literate, well educated, high functioning intellects in churches or other bastions of ignorance.

My mistake it wasn't Lazarus in hell. He was in heaven and the rich man in hell was asking to have Lazarus give him water.
Luke 16:24 -have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.
Speaks of the man in hell having a tongue. ie body part. lol

However, like I said, I agree that a "soul" does not exist.
