I hate to say this, but I don't particularly enjoy the Evil Dead series that much. I mean, it's COOL, and it's fun, and it's great, but I don't see it the way I feel Evil Dead SHOULD be. I imagine it slightly more like Braindead (Dead Alive), but I feel like the "cool zombie gore film" still has yet to be perfected. I feel like all "cool" and "cult" movies fail to deliver on those ends. Most bad good movies are somewhat boring, and most "cool" movies are dull half the time.
That whole weekend pretty much changed my life. That discussion with Mariella Frostrup was fantastic. Someone needs to upload Kermode's Zombie Flesh Eaters intro. What a great film that is! Absolutely topnotch trash.
Ottinger0980, like formerhuman I just to say thanks too as also since I first saw this back in 1999, i wanted to know what turn it was. Thanks again bud
Wow! I remember this being broadcast... there's something surreally chilling in his expression that makes you listen to every single word he says. Amazing.
You wouldn't happen to have his intro to The Exorcist, would you?
Yeah! I saw this on TV, first time I saw Evil Dead 2 (and ZFE as well, taped both, what a pair). Began my love affair with Sam Raimi.
I have been wondering ever since, also, about the music used in the beginning of the clip (with the burning film canisters). I have tried and wondered what the music is to no avail for TEN YEARS. Can anyone tell me?
I remember this well. As a teenager I sat up watching Kermode introduce such films as this, Zombie Flesh Eaters and Braindead. 10 whole years ago! This is when Channel 4 was the best channel on TV and wasn't infested by the endless cookery shows and reloaction progormmes it is now.
I never knew Mark Kermode did an introdution to Evil Dead 2. Groovy! One of my favorite horror flicks.

They need to do this again on Channel 4 - it was an amazing season of film, a real event.

Does anyone have the intro for Salon Kitty, which was also part of the censored weekend?

I loved all this stuff on Four at that time. I taped everything too. If Kermode was introducing, you always knew it was good!
