I can appreciate why it would be a good idea to ban smoking in places that do not serve alcohol (although ultimately i think it should be up to the business owners), but smoking should be allowed in bars because drinking and smoking go hand in hand. For all the none smokers who are laughing about the taxes smokers have to pay to light up, just wait until people stop smoking because they cannot afford it. The taxes will be placed on something else to make for lost government revenue.

Drinking and smoking go hand in hand? Don't make me laugh. Just because you suffer from one vice doesn't mean you have to suffer from two. I drink, myself; Not heavily, but often enough. However, I can't stand smoke, and people who smoke honestly sicken me. This sort of law should have been passed a long time ago- People who don't smoke or can't stand second-hand smoke or even have health related issues with it shouldn't have to put up with it to relax in a bar.

Why don't we leave the option to have a smoke-free bar up to the bar owner? I don't smoke, and I can see why non-smokers would like to have a smoke-free restaurant, but for Christ's sake, leave it up to the owner!

They did this in Miami but you can still smoke at bars.

They made it so that your alcohol sales have to be the majority of your sales over food and other beverages..then you are not a restaurant. You are 'officially' a bar, and you can smoke in bars.

I will tell you I haven't gone to Denny's after the bar/club since they stopped the whole smoking in restaurants.
