  • @banaan243 It's not a band look at the end of the video. xD

    I looked too.

  • Fuck yeah!! Doomsday!

  • catch 22 - keasbey nights

  • five iron frenzy

  • One band you should be forced to listen to... The Specials.

  • The list needs the arrogant sons of bitches, operation ivy, and choking victim.

  • @antipopboner loool, arrogant sons of bitches are a band right? i thought you were referring to Operation Ivy and Choking Victim as arrogant songs of bitches xD

  • @iluvwatermelons Asob is a band, I wouldn't call those other to great band names. Yea, Asob has a funny name lol. They also make great punk/ska.

  • you stupid fuck. what about assorted jellybeans and operation ivy

  • My crazy-for-ska weird uncle got me into most of these bands. I like them a lot. :D

  • dang that squirrel has got some big nuts...

  • they all sound like sublime ripoffs lol

  • @homegrownbuddy Get yer hearing checked!

  • what no mustard plug? sadpanda.jpg

  • We will fall together :P

  • go see streetlight live, you will piss all over yourself and the person next to you

  • Another good one is Juggernaut by Five Iron Frenzy! :)

  • 3rd wave blows. Come on RBF?

  • @JohnECocaine

    why you gotta hate?

  • Ska is an interesting music world. Ska covers so many styles. WIth one or two basic things. There hard core ska, theres traditional... there is bumble bee, and blue note... ok I made those last two up.. I have been out of the ska world for too long. I haven't been to a show in probably 15 years

  • @timepope original ska, two-tone ska and 3rd wave ska

this guys list is pretty much 3rd wave

  • Streetlight Manifesto are a genre of their own lol they make the rules.

  • 2 tone is great but I grew up listening to 3rd wave and that's where my heart lies.

  • @mp2611

    same here bro

    3rd wave all tha way

  • You forgot The Hippos. Streetlight Manifesto is great, but they are post-3rd wave.

  • there's 9 songs...

    not 7

  • @99chris88 7 bands. idiot.

  • @djtall23 no need to get mad sir. I'm just saying that there was 8 songs and not 7 like the title says.

  • @99chris88 welcome to YouTube, the land of cranky, sleep deprived whiners.

  • i say let the man have his opinion. can't make everyone happy.

  • Dude, this is all ska-punk, no pure ska, but thanks for posting up Mephiskapheles - people should remember them.

  • No Suburban Legends?

  • Liked it once I heard streetlight

  • obviously any 'cat empire' song beats everything on this list

  • SOMEDAY I SUPPOSE!!!!!!!

    NICE!!!!!!!

  • NO AQUABATS!!! D: WHY!

  • i mean i like the bands you've picked.. but like.. they're more ska punk then ska...

  • @CbRoXiDe Ska is a mixture of several different genres of music, mostly punk, jazz horns (with punk rhythm), and reggae. Ska can also break into Skacore, which mixes hardcore elements such as breakdowns...

  • Comment removed

  • The Specials

    Toots and the Maytals

    Laurel Aitken

    Operation Ivy

Look them up, for the love of god.

  • @nibbleygibblett Cant forget Desmond Dekker, The Skadelights or Prince Buster

  • Strictly 3rd wave ska? No ska-core? No ska-punk? I see how it is . . .

  • @IvoryLead Those genres overlap a lot, bro.

  • @IvoryLead Cha man, then you'd be putting up the good ol' like Rancid mate; then it would be the dozens of Ska Songs people should listen to :)

  • of all the reel big fish songs you pick take on me?

    horrible choice

  • Throw in some mustard plug brotha

  • padrino by smashmouth. seriously give it a chance it's off their first album and one of the best ska songs ever. i love all of these too.

  • Should have just put all streetlight songs

  • streetlight!

  • It's all third wave. And no Operation Ivy.

  • seriously? no LOC or choking victim? or operation ivy? wtf is this shit

  • has anyone else noticed there are 8 songs?

  • @kirbis 9 lol

  • @OLawson07 The last one isn't a song, it's just a picture of a squirrel with huge balls.

  • Forced to listen to? Isn't that the opposite of the meaning behind all of the songs

  • This video is stupid. Why isn't my favorite song on here?

  • tommy pickles should also be on this

  • guadalajara - mondays

  • thanx 4 forcing me 2 listen 2 this lol, this is dope.

  • I know you're not that knowledgeable of ska but... Really? Everything Went Numb? Man have a liten to Point-Counterpoint by Streetlight Manifesto. That song made me cry. It's beautiful!

  • Without the Pietasters this list is worthless.

  • Less Than Jake - All My Best Friends are Metalheads is my favourite ska song. Good list, learned some new songs.

  • I love that LTJ is on here, but it should have been some other song like The Science of Selling Yourself Short or Johnny Quest Thinks We're Sellouts. Those songs are badass.

  • dis aint dah skaaaa

  • No streetlight isn't really "ska" Tomas Kalnoky said that himself but don't hate on talented musicians you elitist fucks. We can all be nice we don't need to act like metal heads here..

  • @lForsakenGloryl but all my best friends are metal heads

  • @dtup77 win

  • 25 people suck at life.

  • wtf is this shit???????

  • No Aquabats? COME ON

  • sublime, mustard plug...you know the good stuff

  • most of this stuff is ska punk, not gonna preach what ska is and what ska is not, but ska punk is a different fucking genre... especially the aweful american sound

  • @wkskfk maaaate! there are some great american ska punk bands. ok half of them are canadian, but still. there are some good american ska, ska punk (whatever) bands out there.

  • @antcuth85 yeah, of course they are, but on besides, there many american ska punk bands that suck big time... and I just said that theres a difference between hybrid genre ska punk and original ska.. :)

  • @wkskfk your closed-mindedness hurts my ears. stop it.

  • @udlerman and your prejudice disturbs my thoughts. It would be better if the title of this video was "7 ska punk songs..." instead o this, just to be more accurate, what's your excuse?

  • .........so much lacking. but still. good stuff.

  • >>Cowguy789

    >using > quotes off of a chan site

    ISHYGDDT

  • >streetlight manifesto (eww)

    >planet smashers hey hey over ANYTHING else

    >no 1st wave or 2-tone

haha you don't know your ska at all.

  • @SkaForKids >>greentexting

  • @SkaForKids Your right, because you don't like streetlight and he didnt put 1rst or 2nd wave he doesnt know ska. stfu you condescending skankin fuck

  • @SkaForKids streetlight does indeed suck, but dont be a music snob

  • Superman by Goldfinger is such a great ska song. I hope Mustard Plug does a cover of it, seeing they are a Grand Rapids band.

  • Streetlight on there twice...Damn straight.

  • Aww you took the version of we will fall together that the record label ruined. Great songs though

  • ahh dont know much about ska but went to a gig last night and was epic! Looking for a ska song which randomly has a heavy metal sounding guitar blasting a chord.. if anyone could help me would be much appreciated..

  • no traffic tickets?

  • maybe 1 of those...but.......No Madness? Bad Manners? Toots and the Maytals?Skatalites?Millie Small?

  • No bodysnatchers do rock steady?

  • you have to listen to more international ska, not only bands from USA or in english.... multillingual ska... it doesnt matter if you dont understand it... Ska is to be felt too

  • nothing by the slackers....but still 7 songs that people SHOULD be forced to listen to

  • well, I won't hit the dislike button but you got about 2 out of 7 right.

  • your missing deceptikonz, skankin pickle, kemuri, surprised to not see voodoo glow skulls seriously?

  • Specials? Beat? Bad Manners? Desmond Dekker? Prince Buster? Hepcat? Toasters? Sorry, just rabble rousing....

  • @jdoncbus You're right though...

  • @jdoncbus think he was aiming for a ska punk best-of. even so, where's the suicide machines, sublime, capdown, rancid? haha i guess we're all accustomed to our own tastes :D

  • @jdoncbus I agree. These are all ska punk bands. Where is all the classic ska and other music with ska influences?

  • Um....Operation Ivy ?

  • if you go LTJ, you go All My BEst Friends Are Metal Heads, or and thing of Losing Streak. And Im not so sure that a cover can make a list, no matter how awesome the cover is.

Shining On is a BIG one you missed

  • No FIF? and i agree, Sell Out should be up there instead of take on me. Also we are letting covers up there why not Save Ferris' Come On Eileen?

  • @Vonpoopinshmere oh I forgot, screw the tones man, i hate those guys

  • I feel that it says alot that streetlight mainfesto was on twice <3

  • I believe it should be "Streetlight Manifesto - Entire discography".

  • the science of selling yourself short???? less than jake?? c'mon G...your killin me

  • @chippermunk1000 Hey at least they got one song on there, which is actually one of the best LTJ songs in my opinion.

  • No Mustard Plug?!?

  • Streetlight Manifeso...list over

  • Comment removed

  • 1:44 coprorate trash by choking victim sounds also:))

  • mad caddies-no hope!

  • These little "should be" videos are gay, it's just one person's opinion

  • @M0rg0nTheGreat So was this comment. Funny how that works.

  • @M0rg0nTheGreat Says one man's opinion.

  • no specials? no choking victim?

  • Anyone notice 8 songs?

  • @Tombates5 nope i noticed 9

  • not good at all

  • Impression That I Get by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Any modern ska band will tell you that song redefined ska for the new generation.

  • Good to hear Mephiskapheles, Planet Smashers, and Streetlight Manifesto. The bands are okay, but you picked their worst songs. ;)

Here's others: Mad Caddies, Hepcat, Skatellites, Big D and the Kid's Table, The Hippos, Mustard Plug, and Ska-P. There's more!

  • yes! finally someone recognizes how awesome the planet smasher are!

  • yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes

  • NO skanking pickle WTF??

  • @peruanoclandestino1 Exactly what I was thinking!!!!

  • yeah, you really could have choose a better reel big fish song, don't get me wrong, they did a wonderful rendition, and did justice to the a-ha version, but you need something original, that they actually wrote, anyone agree?

  • "Ye I know absolutely nothing about ska...so based on that....I will force it down everyone's throat" bad choice dude... all these songs fail harder then you.

  • @TVScio fuck off, i DO lnow alot about ska... yeah real big fish, catch 22 and buck o 9 are like ska-newbie bands but streetlight and mmbt are pretty fuckin amazing

  • I like it.Can anybody tell me what´s the fastest ska?

  • @rbkspinoza skacore

  • @rbkspinoza punk

  • No Sublime? Shame on you

  • @KdogTheReelz Sublime is not ska. Shame on you for not Knowing

  • @DjLeaning Well they are a mix. I have 942 songs illegally downloaded, and trust me, a good variety of their music is ska, and another good variety is dub

  • One fish

    Two fish

    Red fish

    Reel Big fish

  • like if you think fred the squirrel with testicals was a band

  • blind- planet smashers isnt on here

  • No Tutone ska?

  • u want proper ska? listen to toots and the maytals

  • @Marley94Hendrix Not really ska either, the Maytals had elements of soul and slower reggae. Skatalites, Prince Buster, Sir Coxsone, now we're talking.

  • @Scottmachin i suppose, i would still say some of the maytals songs are pure ska though ;)

  • @Marley94Hendrix Your point is made though, I've never been been able to understand how you can call this American stuff ska. It's like the modern definition of R(hythm) and B(lues). Not snobbery or anything, it's just inaccurate,

  • @Scottmachin yeah im not one for the type of stuff in this video, so far away from real ska. But im sure some people prefer this stuff.

  • streetlight manifesto and catch 22 are from my town :0

  • I'm a little disappointed that the only Reel Big Fish song on here isn't even an original of theirs...

  • My top 3 favorite ska songs are on your list. Great picks!

  • No Judge Dredd? ;)

Nice list of newer third wave bands, great songs.

  • any link 80?

  • everything starts and ends with streetlight manifesto

  • Operation Ivy.....tisk tisk....

  • Not a bad list, if you weren't born before 1985. You have NO specials, Selecter, Skatalites, Madness, Wailers, Toasters...

  • There are many more ska songs that are even better... But it's a start...

  • I seriously feel like Sell Out was a lot better than Take On Me...

  • @ShadicNanaya510 yeh...its not even their best cover

  • @ShadicNanaya510 It is, but i feel a lot of people disregard it genuinely based on how popular it was on its release.

  • there are 8 songs here

  • yer kidding...

  • @kevinspacebag

    Yes.

  • I love ska but isn't forcing people to listen to what you like kinda hitlerish. Nice tunes though:)

  • nooooooooooooooooo pleaseeeeeeeee

  • none of this is ska, i'm sorry, but it just is not ska.
