Ali was a real fighter in his time. Pro-wrestlers are NOT fighters. One thing is Combative Sports (like Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts) and another is Sports Entertainment (Like Pro wrestling where it's all fixed and it's all fiction)

Ah, not really; world class boxing trainers like D'Mato, are good not because there is anything special, or unique about the way they train their fighters, in terms of the basic stuff all reputable boxing gyms do the same crap. What made people like D'Mato stand out, is how the worked with what their fighters had.

Look at Smokin' Joe Frazier; his style was very similar to Tyson's, admitedly Frazier's form was a bit more polished though. Where Ali influenced Tyson, was the importance of developing the slip; Ali destroyed a lot of guys with that jab, even dudes who were much stronger than him.

In the 1970's, owing to more intense training due to the deadlier heavyweights in the ring in that era, Tyson would have been lighter and faster, probably boxing at 210 to 214 lbs. I still maintain though, that "Ali vs Tyson" is the rivalry that never happened; Tyson, sadly, was born too late. Maybe its a good thing it never happened though because, ahd Tyson and Ali been close in age likely they would have hated each other.
