Just wanted to let you all know that Mat Kearney will be performing on Jan.8th at the Granada Theater in Santa Barbara. The theater is gorgeous but small so it will be an intimate setting. We will also be setting up meet and greets with Mat himself so if you are a fan, this is where you need to be. A non-profit student run organization from the local high school is putting on the event and all proceeds go to charity! Ticket are $28 and can be purchased at granadasb web site!

I would never rely on the marketing machine, that is the music business, to tell me what is relevant. Most of my favorite songs are by musicians that have never been played on mainstream radio anyways. I sometimes wonder if the conveyance of sentiment is more then some people care to allow themselves to experience. I like to be stirred more deeply then what a lot of musicians can reach.

I love both Coldplay (and by the way it's Coldplay, not just Chris Martin) and Mat Kearney.. neither of them are super famous but both of them have around five really well-known songs.. Mat plays a Martin. This looks like a 000-15 model. It runs for $950 in most retail stores. He usually plays a D-28 during live shows I believe and its obviously converted into an electric-acoustic. A basic D-28 Martin is near $3,000 but its an amazing and beautiful guitar, as are all Martins.

Don't have names but Mat's main guitarist he tours with is Tyler Burkum from Audio Adrenaline. His bassist is Tony Lucido who has done stuff with tobyMac and Mandisa. His drummer is Jeremy Lutito who is from Jars of Clay... And thats all I know:) Hope that helps:)
