alan and i both share similar stories of being innocent and wrongfully arrested and convicted of a crime we didnt commit. Im one of the unfortunate ones because i had to complete the sentence the judge gave me and still have life on parole but i keep hope alive til this day
It is not a second chance these guys were given. This language makes it sound as if it were 'given' to them. When in fact it was all taken away from them!
I cannot begine to imagine..... Hope these guys all adjust well.
I give high praise to the Innocence Project and all organizations associated with help exonerating wrongfully imprisoned persons, I was convicted "wrongfully" in 1975 and served 10 years...There was no organizations or agencies willing to take a chance at investigating wrongful imprisonment claims then..Thank You... Mr. Leslie A. Vass
When miscarriages of justice like these occur, we must have a mechanism for investigating and addressing their root causes. When we study our criminal justice system in Texas and take necessary measures to improve the quality of justice administered, we not only reduce the chances of convicting the innocent, we increase the chances of convicting the guilty. We also show the World that our justice system is strong enough and has the decency to recognize and repair its own mistakes.
