  • very impressive kit, but I noticed the muzzle move about strangely at he first shot?

  • @Axbent This was the first time firing the weapon which explains a lot. The primary reason for the movement, I didn't have good placement of the stock, and hadn't loaded the bipods.

  • @fyibutube U did good!

  • Its definately still audible. Just sounds like a .22 or something

  • Sweet!

  • KAC suppressor on there ?? nice rifle

  • In call of duty I'm really good with that gun, so I bet I can shoot it like a pro in real life.

  • @Blindmanstaring haha ive seen this like two or three times now and i laugh every time. your just waiting for some jack ass to blow up on you arent you?

  • what kind of suppressor on that, looks like it hardly kicks at all!

  • @jamesstevick2010 wish i could, but ill just rely on my first hand experience to prove them wrong. They are bringing "new" weapons to put through the paces, and some are chambered in 300 Win Mag. The M40A5 isnt though.

  • @thumper49802

US Military is considering the Accuracy International products right now. .308 not effective at 1000 yards. 50 cal is to much when its anti personnel. Plus it not that accurate when compared. Army is pushing for the AX-338 (thats because its the army...it becomes old the minute the contract is signed)

In fact...Navy Seals already use the AW series...heavily modded of course...called MK13

  • @chewy4rce considering yeah, but going with them. I doubt it, AI is a great product and has been proven time and time again. However I know what the USMC is doing, i dont know what the US Army or Seals are doing. Oh course SOCOM will get all the sick shit, while normal grunts will get whats in house. And the Army is also using the MK13.

  • @chewy4rce Yup! The MK13 is a Remington 700 fitted into a AICS stock. Exactly what is depicted in this video. I work on them. Beautiful fun! Im building one of my own right now. Just gotta submit my paperwork for the can next.

  • @jamesstevick2010 a little info for you, just so you can stop spreading misinformation. The USMC PWS has already updated to the most current form of the M40 series rifles. The newest being the M40A5. Still chambered for the M118LR (7.62X51Nato)

  • that is a nice stock there what brand

  • @TheSavage169 Accuracy International

  • @TheSavage169

Rem 700 actions drops directly into the AICS, most custom gunsmiths will choose the rem 700 when building AWM clones.

  • @chewy4rce That is not totally the case. Surgeon, Badger M2008, Stiller are usually more popular choices. The 700 action is ideal for short action rounds. The above actions are more built to handle magnums. So i guess when someone wants to make a AI clone chambered in say .308, i see more 700 SA's. Now when it comes to say 338LM I see more of the listed actions. Not saying your wrong but 700 LA's are few and far between.

  • @thumper49802

Dude...i love the way the stiller actions look...Im thinkin about gettin a custom rifle and i always see thier name thrown around

  • @chewy4rce yeah you cant go wrong wih them. Im a huge surgeon fan though, i shot a few of the badger M2008's are they are very AI like, smooth and short throw.

  • yeah the camera is misleading on the sound...its not picking up the crack of the round...however i have seen supressors reduce the muzzle report on subsonic rounds its just a pop. they have really nice supressors for the M4 and other ARs that supress so much you can only hear the bolt running the chamber...gotta get me some new toys (:

  • No Worries!Looks like you boys are shooting 190HPBT.I have the same set up on a MK13 with the AICS chassis. If you havent loaded 208 amax yet,I would strongly reccomend it for your Long Range Application.I use 190SMK out to 1000yds and my 208 for anything further.Went 5 for 5 at 1K yesterday on a 18x18 inch plate with 0 value wind.Max OAL that will fit your AICS mag is 3.600 inch but my 208 are at 3.525.God Bless Texas!

  • No offense buddy, but you need to practice on workin that bolt!

  • @300WidowMaker It was my first time, cut me some slack. ;-)

  • @fyibutube You sure dress like you know what you are doing.

  • @anthonyavelar Yup, Just cut your car's muffler off and you have a silencer for your gun. ;-)

(I can totally see some kid in his garage shooting through his Dad's Volvo Muffler. ROFL)

  • @fyibutube i could see me doin that lol

  • how do silencers work? can someone tell me please

  • @royalslurp33 Google is your friend.

  • @royalslurp33 well when the firin pen hits the primer it ignited the gunpower inside the bullet.. the gunpoweder burning creates a rapid expanding gas the in turn pushes the bullet out of the cartridge and then the barrel. following the bullet out of the barrel comes extra gasses that creat the sound that you hear. A silencers job.. properly called a surpresser, is to trap the gasses the follow in a series of chambers inside the tube. the sound that we do hear is mainly the gun working

  • is that and accuracy international stock u have on it its hard to tell cuz the vids dark

  • there's no amazingly loud noise because of the suppressor AND the rounds are subsonic. subsonic rounds are also the reason that there is reduced recoil.

if you've ever shot a 300 win mag w/ standard velocity ammunition you know what i'm talking about.

it is a VERY small suppressor and regardless of how efficient it is it will not tame standard velocity rounds to that db level and it won't reduce the recoil felt or otherwise to that level either.

  • AAc is going to offer a Titanium supressor for $1800. It seemed extreme to me to pay for that much when the gun and scope cost that much. How much does a good supressor really cost?

  • That's extreme for a tube with sound baffles, titanium or not. You can really jack up the price on NFA items. You could probably manufacture one out of gold for $1800.

Good suppressors seem to cost $200-$500. Of course, add $200 and 6 months of times to that for the ATF. A lot of money for a tube with shaped washers in it.

  • does the supresser stop most recoil? and does the surpreser slow the bullet?

  • no...they can reduce it, but not a large amount. the call of duty line of games has really mislead the general public on what suppressors do to a firearm. a suppressor captures and diffuses the gasses from the barrel behind the bullet and exhales them slightly slower than without the suppressor, thus making it quieter...however this also helps stabilize the bullet sooner and yields both better and more consistent accuracy and slightly higher velocities on top of the obvious sound cut.

  • @annihilationnegitive

Really? I knew the muzzle break can improve accuracy, bullet speed, and reduce recoil, but i thought suppressors decreased bullet speed and accuracy.

  • @babyeatsdingos once the bullet exits the barrel itself its velocity is set, the only way to decrease velocity at that point would be for the bullet itself to impact or come in contact which would slow it down. so no proper muzzle devices decrease bullet velocity, that is all up to the powder charge and barrel length, however the added expansion chamber of the suppressor keeps a small amount of pressure behind the round, giving a very minor velocity increase (id say 1-2% increase)

  • @annihilationnegitive Actually the Call of Duty games have mislead people in alot of aspects of firearms. For example Shotguns (especially military 00 Buck) dont just fire shot and like 3 feet from the barrel all the shot disappears

  • @annihilationnegitive

Well actually...guns with supressors are quiet...But a bullet breaking the sound barrier will be loud no matter what. The secret is...slowing the bullet down below the sound barrier. But...that really bogs down on your effective range. Im serious...Thier are supressors out there where you can only hear the firing pin when used with subsonic rounds

  • @chewy4rce yes, these are called subsonic rounds, and though they are fun for just target shooting, their pretty much useless. most subsonics also wont cycle semi-automatic actions, even with the added pressure of a suppressor. i used to cut the powder charge in .22 LR's to get them to around 700 fps for shooting in my back yard...even without a suppressor the sound of the firing block was louder than the report of the rifle.

  • @annihilationnegitive You mean reducing velocity.

  • @TehLilAzn47 no, a suppressor does not reduce the velocity of a bullet once it has left the barrel, the suppressor acts like an extension of the barrel, adding more area for compression to occur, this will slightly, very slightly, increase the velocity of the bullet compared to it being fired out of a unsuppressed barrel. the only way to reduce a bullets velocity is to undercharge the round, the most notable of these undercharged rounds are subsonic loadings.

  • a muzzle break is what stops recoil. a silencer just silences the blast of the rifle

  • wrong! i have a rifle lite (2,8kg) rifle in 308. i mounted a supressor and now the recoil is like a 260:)

  • The video's sound does not represent sound heard at the range. The shooter is probably using full power ammo. There is likely a ballistic crack. What would be the point of using subsonic rounds in .300 Win Mag? But I am curious about the "ping" when he squeezes off round. AAC suppressors do the same thing with their flash hider/suppressor mount.

  • they are most definetly using subsonic

  • that is soo quite! i wouldnt wanna be hunted with that

  • Where can i buy a suppressor?

  • first you gotta find out if suppressors are legal in your state then you have to file with the BATFE which will take like 4 months, to actually buy the suppressor you go to a class III dealer and pick your desired caliber

  • 90 days in my state

  • I was told that the 300 winmag has alot more recoil then the 270 or 308 but in the vid looked minimal... is what I hear true?

  • Yes, it kicks hard. But that might be because I don't have a stock pad on mine : >( Oh well, it's just a cheap Savage anyway. My Remington is all that matters now : >)

  • It is true what you hear. But you have to take in consideration that the gun, in this video, is quite heavy. (I would guess about 20 lbs). The more a gun weighs the less recoil it will have.

The rifle is also has a sound suppressor. Sound suppressors work as (quiet) muzzles brakes and lowers recoil.

  • suppressors act as muzzle brakes

  • They make recoil reducing suppressors, and it may have very well been a reduced load, too.

  • Not the necessarily

  • They mostly just change the point of aim, so you have to sight it in for the suppressor.

  • @bekacupu MAN SHUT UP, DO U EVEN KNOW HOW A SUPPRESSOR WORKS?

  • thats evil lol

  • hes e competative shooter ,

  • Which rifle is better, the Springfield Armory M1A or the Remington 700?

  • weird, the guy is working in the army and if he is a sniper why do he having problems with the bolt?

  • The US Army uses a whopping ONE bolt-action rifle, and he's not a sniper (i think). We're not like you fancy-shmancy Norvegians and your....um....TWO bolt-actions if wikipedia is accurate this time. So, um...ease up on the guy!

  • pretty sure that is an Accuracy International rifle, not a Remington 700. i'll admit it could be a Rem. 700 action on a different stock; just an observation

  • look at the bolt, it's an remington 700.

It's an Remington 700 with an AICS Stock.

the AW, AWM/AWP/L96, w/e people like to call it, has a huge bolt handle knob, and a "square/boxy" looking bolt.

  • The rifle is called Mk 13 mod 5. It's more or less a M24 (i.e. Remington 700)converted to 300WM and then put into an AICS stock.

  • That is one sweet freakin gun!!!!

  • my shoulder thinks i need a suppressor..lol

  • subsonic??????

  • yes i would also like to know if it is subsonic ammo. Where did you find a suppressor for that

  • Comment removed

  • for your rifle, id recommend either a Remington 700p, or a Weatherby MK V. For a scope, id recommend a Bushnell Milldot 10x40.

  • What scope are you using?

  • It's a belted round. There is no way you can determine the weight of the bullet. Nor does the size of the projectile make a difference in sound recognition. In fact the lighter bullet would be traveling faster which causes the super sonic crack making the report of the rifle louder. Sub-sonic rounds fly less than 1080 ft per sec, thus eliminate the "crack". This is relative to sea level as well. Higher up you go the slower the round has to travel.

  • Uhm well actually seeing as how there's a direct correlation between bullet weight and powder load the larger the bullet weight the louder the round will be (unless of course you some how do manage to make a .300WinMag sub-sonic). Whether this difference is audible or not is a different debate.

  • i like it when someone knows what they are talking about

  • true statemnet

  • Dunno what all these comments about, looks cool as all hell, and they were zeroing it in, why would he need to work the bolt any faster??? :S

    Cool vid, cheers

  • what stock/mods is on that gun

  • AICS

Accuracy Internation Chassis System, basically an L96 stock made for the Rem 700

  • Does suppressing affect muzzle velocity?

  • what gun is that

  • You sure you weren't using subsonic ammo? That's very quiet for a 200 grain bullet flying at 3000fps.

  • Suppressed, bad camera mic, whatever.

How did you know it's 200gr and not 180, or 150?

  • Look at the rounds from 1-14 the size indacates it's a 200 grain. The 180 is a tad smaller. And the 150 Would have made close to no sound.

  • Maybe you know something I don't, maybe you are mistaken, but generally, to determine the weight of a bullet when comparing, you need to be able to see the actual bullet.

All we can see is the end of cartridges in a box, and empty casings.

  • Yeah i guess your right But Ive seen theese kinds of rounds before and i can recognize them by the end of the round.

The 200 grain should be bulky Maybe i am mistaken just stating what ive been taught and what i learned on my own .

  • I can understand if you have had hands on experience, but from what I know, the length of the bullet generally changes when the grains increase because the diameter is a fixed figure.

  • not sure of why bullet weight would have anything to do with sound

  • Thats where you are wrong, you see you can have a 200 and a 150 grain bullet supersonic,it is all depending on the powder charge not the bullet weight. yes heavier bullets are somewhat slower but you can't hear the difference between a heavier bullet and a lighter bullet with the same powder charge. you can however reduce the powder charge.slowing the bullet down to subsonic which is around 1000 fps depending on altitude. making it quieter. so there you go

  • @hibdonator wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong

  • couldn't ask for anything better!

  • Pretty nice suppression. I shoot .308 but those .300 win mags are a lot louder. How did the suppressor affect the recoil?

  • Recoil? What Recoil? It was very nice.

  • You were shooting subsonic load though right?

  • why does it look like the bolt was giving you a hard time?

  • That was my first time shooting it.
