It's about a man who was shunned from the world because of his looks, so it shouldn't matter. He's got a cracking voice, hopefully getting to see him on the tour and would love to see Sierra Boggess. There's less fear, at least until 'Stranger Than You Dreamt It', and the longing returns after the kiss in 'Down Once More'.

I absolutely LOVE Sierra as Christine, but I think something needs to be said about John Owen Jones:
In my opinion, he is THE Phantom. I love Michael Crawford, but I think JOJ just gives a completeness to the phantom's character that can't be denied. I don't LIKE him as the phantom; I LOVE him as the phantom. He is the one and only phantom and there is no other. His characterization, interpretation, acting, and vocals are STUNNING and I would not have the phantom portrayed as anyone else.
I absolutely love Sierra's voice, and she's beautious. I first got into PotO when I saw the movie with Emmy Rossum as Christine, and I personally like Christine better when she sounds and looks more matured.
I'm sorry, but there's BARELY any chemistry evidenced here..... RAMIN has that with Sierra. Wait, no I'm not sorry...cos their chemistry is what made the 25th Anniversary performance UNBEATABLE! Agreed?

While I am a huge fan of Sierra Boggess's, I felt that this performance and her 25th anniversary performance were not up to par sadly. When I heard her perform think of me on Seth rudetsky's chatterbox, I fell in love, but since then her phantom performances have not done it for me.

Saw him in London during the summer....wow. Blown away. I have now booked tickets to see him on the Phantom UK tour. Ridiculously excited. His voice gives me chills. I nearly cried last time during Music of the Night.
My favorite Christine's are Sierra Boggess and Gina Beck. Gina /LOOKS/ like Christine should, (In my opinion), she has an amazing voice, and from the clips I saw, she can pull off innocence. Gina and Sierra both are amazing!
It's a hard note to hit,especially for the untrained voice. But if you have the ability to train your voice to go that high, all it takes is a lot of practice. :)
I love sierra, i do, but she isn't innocent enough for the role. I felt the same way with Sarah. I don't like the movie as much as live versions but I think that Emmy was good at the innocence... maybe not it all, but she pulled off Christine's greatest weakness. Innocence.
If you don't have chills for at least one part of this video, you must be either tone deaf or dead inside. Same thing really.

I went to the imax with my mom to watch the 25th anniversary performance on sunday. I live in alaska so I couldn't actually be there. but everything about it was perfect.. I can easily say it was the most amazing thing I've ever seen.. I am still completely mesmerized and still in awe from it. wish I could relive it!! and when sarah brightman came out at the end and sang, I got chills down my spine. I will never stop being obsessed with this musical..

Was the performance an actual production of The Phantom of the Opera like the one on Broadway, in London and Las Vegas, or was it more of a concert performance (in the spirit of The Wizard of Oz in Concert and Sweeney Todd in Concert)?
@darthvalor07 Ya I was nervous about that also but when i saw it yesterday it was a full performance just like broadway and west end. And the JOJ came out and sang the title song with three other phantoms and sarah brightman after curtain call. it was awesome! lol
@TheKatHan101 Michael is a great actor but I think his voice was a bit weak to be the Phantom. It was too nasaly and high pitched whilst John's is more subtle and deep and actually how I imagined the Phantom to sound like. John is the better Phantom for me but that's my view.
@boffinme80 I absolutely love Michael. I have plenty of friends who don't so I really don't mind. I think that JOJ is good and all but I haven't gotten into his voice like i have with Michael, Gerard, and Ramin. Ramin is okay but a little too gruff in his singing... Gerry and Michale make my world. :)

I was exposed to the movie first by my choir teacher and since then i have been checking out other things and i really enjoy the performances. I have learned more about music since and have recognized how bad the movie really is. Also, Ramin... I love his voice. I really do, but I think in the 25th anniversary he screamed to much, you know? I LOVE him in Love Never Dies (The first time I heard him) But other than that. :)
I am a die hard Ramin fan so no one will be a better Phantom in my book. For some reason I got kind of creeped out at JOJ's performance. He still did amazing but Ramin has more Angel of Music in him. Sierra is Christine. No one will do better than her. I look forward to seeing them together in the 25th!

I went to the imax with my mom to watch the 25th anniversary performance on sunday. I live in alaska so I couldn't actually be there. but everything about it was perfect.. I can easily say it was the most amazing thing I've ever seen.. I am still completely mesmerized and still in awe from it. wish I could relive it!! and when sarah brightman came out at the end and sang, I got chills down my spine. I will never stop being obsessed with this musical..

Saw the 25th anniversary performance today and it was amazinnggg! Sierra and ramin did such a great job! And I squealed like a little girl when JOJ came out for a special performance at the end!! :)

@26beachlvr Hey, just curious. I planned to see the performance at the movie theater, but I didn't get the chance to. So... Was the performance an actual production of The Phantom of the Opera like the one on Broadway, in London and Las Vegas, or was it more of a concert performance (in the spirit of The Wizard of Oz in Concert and Sweeney Todd in Concert)?

@darthvalor07 Ya I was nervous about that also but when i saw it yesterday it was a full performance just like broadway and west end. And the JOJ came out and sang the title song with three other phantoms and sarah brightman after curtain call. it was awesome! lol

They were great, but Michael will always be the Phantom to me. And Christine... Well, I preferred Emmy, but even then... I have no fave Christine's.

@TheKatHan101 Michael is a great actor but I think his voice was a bit weak to be the Phantom. It was too nasaly and high pitched whilst John's is more subtle and deep and actually how I imagined the Phantom to sound like. John is the better Phantom for me but that's my view.

@boffinme80 I absolutely love Michael. I have plenty of friends who don't so I really don't mind. I think that JOJ is good and all but I haven't gotten into his voice like i have with Michael, Gerard, and Ramin. Ramin is okay but a little too gruff in his singing... Gerry and Michale make my world. :)

@TheKatHan101 Waitttttt......are you saying that Gerard Butler is better than Ramin? And further, that Ramin is *more* gruff than Gerard? Gerard's voice sounds like an elephant seal being dragged over gravel, sandpaper and barbed wire. Just sayin. And don't get me started on Emmy Rossum...

@MeiMei228 I disagree but we are all entitled to our opinion. I was exposed to the movie first by my choir teacher and since then i have been checking out other things and i really enjoy the performances. I have learned more about music since and have recognized how bad the movie really is. Also, Ramin... I love his voice. I really do, but I think in the 25th anniversary he screamed to much, you know? I LOVE him in Love Never Dies (The first time I heard him) But other than that. :)

I am a die hard Ramin fan so no one will be a better Phantom in my book. For some reason I got kind of creeped out at JOJ's performance. He still did amazing but Ramin has more Angel of Music in him. Sierra is Christine. No one will do better than her. I look forward to seeing them together in the 25th!

JOJ has a fantastic voice and great presence but I prefer Scott Davies' more darker voice and interpretation. Both are great Phantoms though. Thanks for posting!

Everyone has their favourite stars for the title roles; no point arguing. I love Ramin and Sierra. My mother loves Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman. John Owen Jones is very commanding, I admit. very good.
