  • This is definitely nitpicking/irrelevant to the actual video but I'm quite sure Tosin played an Ibanez in the videos. Maybe I just haven't seen them but to the best of my knowledge that seems to be the case. Great playing in the video though.

  • @globalgemo Thanks, man. This is one of the videos Tosin had his Carvin 8 in. watch?v=jRAwA5kg_Dc&feature=related

  • @MrCameronBarton Oh okay thanks. I wish I'd gone to one of those shows. Such a good lineup.

  • ever thaught of using som a that talent on a band. do you gotta band? with your skills id definitely listen to it

  • This may have been answered...but what body wood or "wings" do you have? Really dig the tone. Also, how would you compare blackout7's to the carvin actives?

  • @musicianman121 The body wings are swamp ash. I also can't comment on that because I've never used Blackouts.

  • @musicianman121

    My DC800 arrives tomorrow.

I'm very familiar with Blackouts (AHB-1 for 6 string) and EMGs (81s on 6 string). I'll let you know how they compare to the new active Carvin pickups.

  • @123lowp Sweet! How do you like it so far? And how are the pickups on the thing?

  • @musicianman121

Hey... after spending a few days with the Carvin DC800, I've changed my mind about the pickups. They are good, but they are a bit too woofy on the lower strings.

I was able to clear up the low strings by running the signal into MXR 10 EQ and cutting some lows before the signal hits the amp. But this makes riffs sound a little thin on the high strings.

I'm thinking about putting some Blackout 8s in there instead.

  • @123lowp Sounds good man, let me know what you think. I wanted to do this with the DC700 but am also contemplating passives in the 727. BTW MrCameronBarton I checked out your other videos and pretty damn amazing I must say!

  • Good stuff.

  • Insane Man!!!

  • Yo Cameron, are you going to be making a video on any technique any time soon?

  • @Crispyfresh77 Yeah, dude. I'm actually figuring out some shit to do and I plan on making a little mini lesson of a few different techniques. I'm a little preoccupied at the moment but I'll definitely get something together.

  • @MrCameronBarton Fuckin' sweet!!

  • Hey Cameron, What happened to the agile?

  • @Bayani8 I sold it to fund a higher quality guitar, AKA this Carvin.

  • @MrCameronBarton Would you still recommend the Agile? I have noticed that they have great prices and seem to be high quality.

  • dude youre gettin some really cool sounds there - what scale is that?

  • @ZO120 27" scale, man.

  • @MrCameronBarton haha ya - I meant musical scale/mode?

  • Hey Cam, are you planning on equipping this one with a high A, or are you sticking with the low F# this goaround?

  • @GodlessShredder I'm just gonna stick with the low F. Having a 27" scale would make it pretty hard to get a string that could handle being tuned to high A without snapping.

  • @MrCameronBarton Cool... You should rip some AAL if you get the chance to learn any :)

  • @MrCameronBarton Octave4plus. com makes custom strings that can handle a high A in 440 tuning.

  • @FilthyInsomniac Yeah, I know, but I like to do full step bends. The strings O4p has for A440 on a 27" scale only increases a half step in pitch or so when you do bends.

  • what would you say is better for an 8 string maple or rosewood fretboard?

  • @GuitarBoyEvan Maple by far. If you like brighter tones that have more snap and cut through well, maple does the job. Rosewood is just.. I'll just say it's my least favorite fretboard wood. Ebony isn't that bad either. It has some of the same characteristics that maple does.

  • This dudes pretty average... 4:18... Holy shit....

  • how much did it cost?

  • @DeadSuspect $1062 shipped.

  • haha holy shit that's awesome that you got one! sounds killer! This is also great because two days ago I decided to get one of these...but there were really no videos....so glad I subscribed

  • @TheGuitarLand You'll love it, man. My fingers hurt like hell from playing this thing for 5-6 hours every day since I got it after not playing at ALL for 2 1/2 months, but it still plays so smoothly and the action is so low, I can just keep playing. The only thing I CAN'T do yet, is do a full step bend since it comes with 10s haha.

  • @MrCameronBarton Are those the stock pickups? :D

  • @andreistoc Yes, sir.

  • Really like the sound of it!!

  • awesome!

  • That was some nasty playing, dude! You got chops as well as incredible skills. I'm also very surprised by your tone! Love it!

  • That's the I wish i was viking from Rustys cfh lesson?

  • That low end is killa, brah. PROPS!

  • What head/amp model are you using?

  • @Deathz0r94 I'm using the 1987 Brit Gain Silver J on my POD X3 with the V30 cab model and a 57 Off Axis mic.

  • @MrCameronBarton What's the distortion you're using?

  • @masonghc The Screamer model. Drive@35%, Gain@100% and Tone@50%.

  • @MrCameronBarton Thank yee sir, never used that amp before. It can shred purdy good.

  • @MrCameronBarton Oh nice nice. I use a model of the 5150 and Dual-Rec (don't even really use the rec tbh)

  • Solid, dude! Sounds good.

  • @SteeleInd Thanks, mang!

  • Digging the new Carvin!

  • @Blargaha Me too!
