Looking for a versatile set for my mim strat. I want something that has great bell like glassy tones ala SRV clean/Gilmour clean and something that can get down and dirty ala Hendrix/assorted classic rock bands. Doesn't have to be fender sets, just something under $200. I was really looking into the DiMarzio area p'ups. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Nice job Bro! The only other vibes in my collection that nail the tone are the Fulltone Univibes, Roger Mayer Voodoo Vibe and the Sobbat Glow Vibe. The vintage units can vary so much, in fact my vintage Uni-vibe has too shallow a vibe effect. Nice job! Peace!
He is an okay guitarist but nothing impressive. He doesn't have that much feel either. Btw, I don't understand why some guitarists give shredders a hard time. I started off as a blues/rock player that embraced shred. It certainly improved my technique. For the guy that made that comment that shredders don't know chords, go and check out Steve Vai's "sisters". Because you can't play shred doesn't mean you should say bad things about it. You should embrace all styles.
I know you mean well... BUT you are NOT the right person to demonstrate this unit, I DIDNT want to buy it anymore after watching.. DUDE STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are you using the distortion from the amp or are you using a pedal? and are you using the chorus or vibrato input. I have a hot rod deluxe and the pedal is killing some of the top end tone.
Are you using the distortion from the amp or are you using a pedal? and are you using the chorus or vibrato input. I have a hot rod deluxe and the pedal is killing some of the top end tone
not bad... cool old school sounds...to bad many kids today don't understand old school sounds and playing.....but the un-vibe works best in that time period...The Un-vibe just isn't a heavy death metal shedding tool....
@8153max I wish other kids would get into older music, just simple overdrive and univibe. oh and a vox or crybaby, no screaming or death tones, just 3 pedals and a fender bassman
@frannydog94 dont forget blues drivers ma friend definetly those and perhaps talkboxs too i mean peter frampton shits awesome. i hear u ppl these days hav no musical ear period its to a point where its disgusting. i hate ma idiotic generation. real music is from all over tha world but i hate this industry shit be it watever its all poisoned illuminati propoganda. long live real music
This guy is great! BB King and some of his contemporaries play very few notes in many of their solos. It's all about the feeling-These guys are not shredders. Shred is a valid type of playing, but you can't say that this guy can't play. This guy's playing has style, feeling and character. He has his own way...he is not a 'droid. Best of all, he gave me new interest in my Univibe, which I was going to sell.
the guy's kinda funny but if you want to compare for example 2 things you just have to compare it in similar environment, here it will be playing the same notes...
I prefer his tone to some of the other guys playing with such thin sounds...too thin and with a reissue univibe sounds disgusting. This is the first guy to make this pedal sound actually somewhat decent. If you think he's a douche, you should look in the mirror douche.
Does anyone know the two chords he plays on 6:45? The first one looks kind of similar to the hendrix chord but isn't and the second covers four frets from 4th to 7th (i think) but I can't work out what strings he's exactly on. It's been bugging me for ages. Any help would be much appreciated!
@rmweav11 Ok fair enough, I agree I was to harsh... this video just caught me off guard with its poor level of preparedness on part the of the host. He teaches guitar lessons on Next Level Guitar for crying out load so I expected some juicy licks as opposed to the drunken chords that were presented. Come on Will Billie Two Fist Ma gee you can do better than this.
@rmweav11 Fair enough I removed my response which was way to harsh. I do think he could have prepared a little bit before this video but whatever, maybe I can be more critical when I get my own channel. Peace
@redseusa looked at your page to find a link to your awesome guitar playing but i didn't find anything?!?!?!? We're all waiting for you to blow our mindsl 21, married and still with roommates? That trailer must be bustin' at the seams!!!!
willy two fist mgee...riiiiiight... such bad demos. standard mex strat = crap...fender devilles overdrive = reknown as terrible overdrive unit...and the volume setting on the amp is SO low you can even hear his strings acousticlly!
I really wish this guy approached his playing a little more delicately and didn't attempt to have the intensity of Hendrix or SRV right off the bat. He sounds like every typical player that's on the sales floor of a Guitar Center. It's also a little ironic that he is talking about a guitar pedal and hasn't obviously taken the time to find a decent setting on the amp. Great personality for a review but no finesse.
Not to mention this guys playing is really not good. It sounds like he is just making up stuff off the top of his head. He should maybe plan what he is going to play before he hits record.
Anyway, check out the proguitarshop demo of the effectrode tube vibe... as well as the sheets of sound demo of the effectrode tube vibe
Hey If you can't get the original Uni vibe...which now sell for 1200 or much more... get the early Bob Sweet one's..it's not a copy it's there....Bob Sweet died a while back...but his early uni vibe pedals are great...even the ones made after his death are pretty good.... You can still get them on ebay for 400 - 600...but as time goes on they are going up...the ones made after his death go for at least 250...but the earlier models have that sizzle uni vibe groove....
@guitargenius3 I dont own a fender with a drive channel but I have worked on them and I just realized that I rather just own an amp that all my money went to one thing, no effects no other channels, I guess im just a purist at heart, and i am not hating on fender lol I just wish theyed go back to Bead Boards because to my eyes it seems like it would be cheaper to make.
I must say I don't feel no luxuriousness! I hear mud, like mad mud. I can agree with single notes - beefs them up a bit, but cords - oh no! Too much going on and it all collides with itself, sounds like out of phase. Other than that, I really like next level guitar videos.
Take any wah pedal...turn it to the lowest settings or the ones with the most bass and it sounds like a Hendrix tone hope that helped any1 tht wanted to know :)
i hate those vibrato effects, they sound like shit, use manual finger vibrato or whammy bar vibrato instead, no need for additional external effects rotfl
The Dunlop doesn't suck at all. If you know how to set it properly, and know how to play the licks correctly it does the Hendrix/Trower/Gilmour thing just fine
@fuzzysting even if it doesn't suck, even if you can get a "just fine" sound out of it, i would much rather spend an extra $30-50 on a fulltone, mjm, or another better vibe that sounds good no matter what settings it's on.
Oy, could that have been edited any worse?? Anybody w/ me on this? I appreciate that they do all these videos, of course, but honestly, a little more professionalism would be nice:S
Willbilly Two Fist McGee has more character than GearManDude or Andy from proguitarshop. That is good and bad. He makes things fun to watch. At the same time all we need is a good pedal demo. The man takes us into different musical directions than the other guys.
Yeah, he's mids are way too scooped for my taste..... or for this 'style' of music. You needs mids when you're doing uni-vibe type sounds. If they're not there it sounds too muddy. IMO.
@pacrat90 At least he's not out there trying to be hood and gangsta, he's doing what makes him happy not what mainstream culture seems to want black people to be doing. Rap = Retards Attempting Poetry.
Not every rapper that can rap is trying to be a gangster or a thug or hood for that matter . Is Lauryn Hill a Retard Attemping Poetry ? @StratoBlaster420 i agree rap is bullshit NOW but to say what you said is just ignorant. hip hop just aint what it used to be but you gotta keep an open mind theres underated emcees out there that are true hip hop that choose not to be mainstream for that reason.. rap can actually be poetry! its stupid closed minded fucks like you that just cant see it
@StratoBlaster420 Fuck you!!!!!!! Rap may be poetry at best but it's not music. The rappers pretty much never make their own beats and auto tune these days makes 10 year old girls sound good!
