Her early stuff it pretty bad, But SHE got through so imagine how bad the other 250,000 contestants were! But she has come a long way since then and all her singles have reached Number 1 which proves it

My point is that these shows and the Judges see potential in people and that is why she got through, Sometimes singing is NOT enough.. Just look at Michelle McManus, Steve brookstein, Alex Parks..They could all sing excellently but didnt have that special someting that Cheryl had and still has!

I think it's fair to say she 'can' sing just not good enough to win a tv show, for instance if she went on the X factor these days she wouldnt even make it to boot camp. She wouldve been better off staying in Girls Aloud because her voice is not strong enough to be a solo artist. Her voice isn't that good, but it's definitely god enough for a girlband, its not so much about how you sing solo but how you sing as part of the group and whether they gel. And to be fair they've more than proved themselves to have the longevity and charm to be successful as a group. As for the solo career, her voice isn't strong enough to bring out an amazing classic song, but it's good enough for some catchy fun sounds and dance music to be fair.
