@spongetothebals Thanks Robert - Your Grandma has GREAT taste in music too - try looking for Begin The Begin, by Artie Shaw - the legendary big-band clarinettist - then you'll hear how it REALLY should be played. As to "New York, New York" - if that's your favorite - good for you, 'though Frank Sinatra's version is hard to beat. Jon
@JonEngland Sir, if Cole Porter's arrangement had been played like this, I dare say that the box office fate of Jubilee would have been remarkably different. I too love the version arranged by Artie Shaw and Jerry Gray, but your rendition has the latin feel that Porter originally intended, although you give it a brilliance that it never had before.
@profitleads Funnily enough, I had NO idea Cole Porter intended a "Latin" feel for the piece - I actually took a leaf out ofJulio Iglesias arrangement for the backing rhythm; Also I had no idea about the movie 'Jubilee' - it is something I should probably try and find, to enjoy the difference in arrangments. I am humbled and flattered by your graciously bestowed appreciation - bes wishes to you. Jon.
Is think it's amazing with your talent that you respond to the comments of people that appreciate your gift. I play mostly lounges where the atmosphere is very casual and I love what I do. My style was taken in large part from Liberace as I can see you also share some of his styles. Thanks for allowing the postings of your music and again I think your an amazing talent. Tony
@loungepianoman Hello Tony; Thanks for enjoying the music - I'm glad you get pleasure from your own talent too. I think we all owe a great debt to Liberace - however, Carmen Cavallaro is/was (IMHO) the true low-key genius FROM whom Liberace obtained many of HIS stylings. Check out Gil Carili (alive, and living in Brazil) on YouTube - you will be amazed, I guarantee it. Hon.
@mdditalianusa I appreciate your observations! Regrettably, 'live' recorded performances are always somewhat compromised with regards to audio ... 'glad you liked the show. Jon
With a new Carman Miranda and new Frank Sinatra the show is complete.

such talent... my only wish would be to hear the piano more and less of the back ground music...and less muffled sounding

Look at all that energy! (You must be exercising some restraint in your selections of cruise fare.)
