  • he even sticks the flag under the windshield wiper to prevent the flag from being blown away. what a good man :)

  • i look at the comment below and most are vicious replies to others for their mean comments....is this what we call celebrating this mans unseen act of love for our nation?

  • A poor, homeless man WEALTHY in character.

  • Hopefully everyone who has read the comments below giving addresses and/or bank accounts haven't sent anything. Everyone should wait until information is released publicly and not by unknown youtube users...

  • When you have nothing then you are truly not ignorant.

  • The account number is as follows:

    In trust for Gustus Bozarth

    Wells Fargo

    6175 Gateway West Blvd.

    El Paso, Texas 79925

    Account number 7913692971.

The account was created due to the hundreds of requests for a way to make a donation to help Gustus. The funds will be utilized for the exclusive benefit of Gustus including living and medical expenses. Donations may also be wired to the Wells Fargo account by using routing number 112000066.

  • What a virtues act. It speaks volumes beyond the deed though. If a homeless man, down on his luck, can take a moment to give respect to our flag, may this be a testament of gratitude. Despite what Obama, and ungrateful liberals may think of our country, we as a Christendom will endure it's detractors, in foreign lands and even from within.

  • In this deeply divided nation, he made all of us one if only for a moment. What a precious gift. Thanks and God bless.

  • I take so much pride in my country and my country men because of small simple things just like this. We must live in the greatest country in the world if a man, who is homeless, still loves his country enough to take care and pride in his flag even after everything this man has endured. God bless the USA

  • Decent and thoughtful..I dont know much about this guy but he seems to exhibit those two traits. I hope somehow this gesture that he made can reward him in some way. From what I hear, he likes the lifestyle that he lives. I have known and befriended a few homeless people and spent some time with them. They live this way by choice and only accept certain help and usually with some caution. All I know is that what he did was a decent and honorable.

  • Is he a veteran?

  • This video brought tears to my eyes. I love America so much. This man may not have wealth, but he is rich where it matters most.

  • At 3:38 a small cat approaches..and watches the whole thing. The cat is near the bottom right of the screen...must be the guys buddy.

  • I don't know why, but I would trust this guy with my money over our politicians. I wouldn't trust most of them to walk my dog, they might neuter him or not bring him back whole.

  • @Multihaughton: I believe your comment was quoted in FOX news! Check out the story on this man in Fox news and it mentions your quote about giving him a home, job, and health insurance.

  • Patriotism vs. Nationalism. Don't confuse the two. Most of the negative comments I read lead me to believe the writer has confused them. Nationalism is the love of country in its current state; patriotism in the love of the country 'with Liberty and Justice FOR ALL.' The USA is not perfect and unfortunately has fallen into many of the potholes the founding Fathers tried to warn us against. It has many sins but it is still the greatest country. The man in the video was a Patriot.

  • @REYNOLDSROAD Hate to step in here, but Nationalism is not "the love of country in its current state". Nationalism is in fact a commonality in language, culture, religion, tradition, and etc. Nationalism can occur via occupation or imperialism, centralized governments (Ottoman Empire), and even for the betterment of the country, i.e. modernization. Patriotism can be chalked up as nationalism, but in the American language. It occurred via the American Revolution, which reverts back to the former.

  • @lukewhoa...my apologies for the delay in responding. I have been in the process of moving and have just unearthed my 1828 American Dictionary of the English Language by Noah Webster. Per Webster, "Nation - A body of people inhabiting the same country.." "Patriot - A person who loves his country and zealously supports and defends it..." My thinking is still that this fella was a Patriot. And that Nationalists and Patriots are not nearly remotely "chalked up" in the same category.

  • @REYNOLDSROAD I understand, but you looked up the wrong word. nationalism and nation are different. I thought about this response the other day and I feel I neglected something. Nationalism is the movement, whereas a nationalist is the person within the movement. Patriot is in fact a nationalist. Just that a patriot goes beyond simple support and is essentially imortalized.

  • @lukewhoa Websters 1828 did not have the word Nationalism. His definition for National was "pertaining to a nation." Thus my extension of nationalism are those within a nation. Nationalism, if a movement, is a movement to have the country serve you verses Patriotism in which one seeks to serve the country.

  • The FNC guy said it right. "Character is what you do when no one's looking". Mr. Brzath may be one of a handful of people in the US today who are truly patriotic and really, I mean REALLY, believe in doing the right thing come hell or (literally) high weather.

  • Bless his heart.

  • Mr. Obama, see this video? This is called PATRIOTISM. Something you haven't a fucking CLUE about. Please, Mr. O, take 5 minutes of your day and watch this video. You might learn something. And God bless this man.

  • JudgeEden:

Most people understand the corruption in DC. But our founding fathers gave the people the ability to change that.

I honor the flag not as a symbol of Gov., but of the good people of the country.

The flag has the ability to bring us together as people.

I feel the government wants the regular people to hate the flag and skater our allegiance, while they chip away at power we have as free people.

The frag has the power to unite the regular people, like we unite for this man.

  • Where can we send HIM money?

  • May God Bless Mr. Bozarth and keep him safe. Mr. Bozarth is a true Patriot. I saw this video in the news, and it brought a lump to my throat.

  • This patriot did what I would expect every citizen to do. The fact that he is homeless, while sad, doesn't change that. You want to help him? Volunteer at your local shelter, and say a prayer or two that his behavior becomes viral. Let's not make this rare and heartwarming action about Government, war, religion, or turn it into some political cause.

  • Good Lord people, why does it always have to be about "you" and turn into a pissing contest at the expense of everyone else trying to enjoy a video? What this man did was show that "social status" and "class" are two different things; he respects the flag, as do I, and did the right thing. God Bless Mr. Bozarth and God Bless the United States of America.

  • Thank you so much for your support of this very patriotic American. Management and Engineering Technologies International, (METI) is currently planning to do something special for Mr. Bozarth. You may send any care packets or supplies to 8600 Boeing, El Paso, TX 79925 and we will ensure that he receives them along with any messages. Again, METI thanks you for your concern and warm wishes for Mr. Bozarth.

  • @Rebe025 I dont see how your asking to take donations when the news stated that the company is not taking any since they cant find a place to manage the donations??

  • you are just someone who wants a reaction. someone who hates the government because you were denied entry into the military for being too short or stupid. or you feel your father was wrongly acussed when he was fired after years of being a police officer for embezzeling funds. or maybe you owe the I.R.S. a shitload of money. who knows. move if you dont like it.

  • well the bottom line is if you dont like what this country stands for then take your fucking ass across the border. you talk about how innocent people died over there but you say nothing about the people of pearl harbor, or 9/11.

  • god makes ahole people live in mansions while good people are out on the streets...

    sad...

    kudos to that guy...

  • This shows that america is not entirely a bad country. It shows we still have some of the biggest hearts in the world. This act of patriotism is something my uncle over in afghanistan would love to see. God Bless that man.

  • wow. this man here is an example of what all Americans should be like. he was stripped of everything and still has love for his country and flag. lets hope he wont be forgotten. this man deserves a home and money for that act of patriotism. give props to this man. If any of u live in El Paso give this man some money please. dont let this man be forgotten

  • Let's hope the Healthcare Reform will help him in his time of sickness. Let's hope he won't be forgotten on the streets left to die.

  • He didn't really do shit but fold a piece of colorful cloth on top of a truck. WOOOOW, he is so good. God bless this man. He is a hero.

  • @IamGAWD777 Would you have done this during a storm? Probably not. Most people would have not given a shit, that's why it's a good story.

  • @biagiotti2006 Let's see, get out of my car and get wet for a piece of cloth laying on the ground, hell no.

  • @IamGAWD777 Say that to someone who's fought for this country. Or lost someone in the war. Have respect please. I have lost friends over there. Asshole!

  • @fury8793 And what does this have to do with the war, which btw I don't support so I don't really care about?

  • @IamGAWD777 What does it have to do with the war? The american flag means everything in war. It's america's pride. In the Civil War Men risked their lives to carry old glory into battle. If one of them died another would drop their gun to carry it.

  • @fury8793 No, what does this man picking up this flag have to do with this war?

  • @IamGAWD777 Thought so. Just because you don't care about things like that doesn't automatically make it stupid or pointless when other people do; this is why people are giving this man praise, because even though he has less than many other Americans he still gives a shit unlike some like you. Nuff said. So why don't you take you fail trolling comments somewhere else, isn't working here.

  • @biagiotti2006 I'm not trolling i'm being dead serious but i don't really care what you think. He still didn't do anything special. He also can't eat the praise or sleep in the praise he is recieving so it really doesn't matter.

  • @IamGAWD777 Look at all the comments and hype this is receiving; just because you don't think it's a big deal doesn't automatically make it pointless. Obviously the homeless man has some pride in his country, and the flag is a symbol of that pride. So whether or not you agree with that viewpoint is irrelevant, and just because you don't see it the same way doesn't make it any less important to other people, so stop trying to force your world view onto others by trying to convince everyone.

  • @biagiotti2006 I'm not trying to force other peope not to care, it's just that I don't care. It's irrelevant to ME, keyword me, and TO ME all he did was fold up a wet piece of cloth on a truck. Damn.

  • @biagiotti2006

do you even know why he picked the flag...you have no clue why he is homeless or if he is ill. you only assume he did it becuase of patriotism. he could be mentally ill and may be reliving some past event in his life...

  • @Xenthoid I'm not assuming anything, I watched the news when they found out who this man was. He specifically stated that he is patriotic and loves his country, the better question is why you would assume that I wouldn't know what I'm talking about when you clearly only watched this video and havn't seen the news footage when a newscaster interviewed the homeless man. Why don't youtube it so that you know what you're talking about.

  • @biagiotti2006 no i knew about it..just giving you hard time...dont take it so seriously

  • @IamGAWD777

lol i can see what you mean.. I think people put too much behind the flag. as appose to the actually country it suppose to represent. also i love how people are trying to be so helpful to him now that he did this.where were they before when he may have needed the aid (hinting toward helping the homeless here) i think the whole thing is stupid...

  • @Xenthoid Exactly. And if anybody would have helped him before this then he would have been recieving a "handout". But folding up a flag justifies helping him. Maybe all homeless people should just find flags on the ground and fold them.

  • @IamGAWD777 yeah exactly...I find it funny how that works.

i know some people on this comment section would be calling him a typical welfare case just wanting to leech off their hard earn tax money... or someone with their hands open looking for a free ride, if he never did this and was looking for some aid.

i think its kind of sick..honestly

  • Some Agency should help him get an apartment for at least showing respect. They ought to help him.

  • @scardino1958

they ought to help him regardless of what he did...

  • I wish I was rich, I would give this man a home and everything he needs for the rest of his life.

  • 9/11 in my car and at a red light I noticed an American Flag on the ground, cars were driving over it, I got out, stopped traffic (the light turned green) and I picked it up, why? it broke my heart, The flag to me represents more then material, its a symbol of everything we are, patriots, soldiers, mothers, fathers and children who owe our respect for what this flag stands for.

God Bless this man, he showed respect and he is the epitome of what we are and what we stand for. God Bless America!

  • This man loves his country, but his country's rulers do not love him. They love illegal immigrants and other nations "weak and poor" more than him. He suffers so they can prosper. Sad day my friends.

Peace be with this man. If only half our Government had the heart he does...we'd be much better off.

  • This guy should be hired by the Obama team to help them understand Patriotism, humility, and to still act properly even when you think people are not watching.

  • Homeless guy > Obama

This guy has nothing and weathers the storm with his country.

Obama has millions in the bank, nothing to worry about and yet would not place his hand over his heart and say the pledge of allegiance.

    Election time is comming.

  • Comment removed

  • i am bit tired of the comments here. Freedom is only for the american themselves to cheris. isn't it ? Not for the people of iraq, which american raided for its own convenience and allowed 1 million poeple to perish. And freedom is not for the people of gaza as well, where few million people live inside walls made by american donation.

    Huh...

  • Even though he was dumped by the bank, all his belongings were taken away, thousands of dollars worth of his home. He still respected his harsh country. Even though he saved one of the most precious antiques in american history, they leave him on the street. Wow... Thats all I say AMERICA! WOW!

  • I have to admit, not to be offensive or anything, but nothing really happened. I was watching for the first 3 minutes and I was thinking, maybe I should just stop watching, but then I saw something that looked like a duck 3:01 .. i was like.. awww sooo cuteeee, but it was the top/bottom of the flag pole

  • they need to atleast give him a place to stay for being respectful to the country.

  • Nice fold ! :D

  • @divinelifez /I couldn't possibly care what you do with a picture of me. Again, it's just a piece of paper. Piss poor comparison.

  • Such a rare thing to see those days . I wish I could see this kind of patriotism where I am from .

  • This brought tears to my eyes. That mean's a REAL patriot. God bless him and God bless the United States of America!

  • I think this homeless guy just didn't have anything other friggin thing to do...LOL Just kidding...don't kill me. No really, he could have just put the pole on the side and threw the flag on top of it. BUT, he didn't. The fact that he so carefully folded it and put it under the truck's wind shield wiper so that it wouldn't blow away with the wind show's that he cared about what he was doing. We need a lot more of that these days, the way our country is going.

  • This MAn Love his Country.Love USA .Remember he din't ask for us to call him a Hero. But he did with respect and Gratitude for USA .Any comment agaist him are off the table. This Gentelmen deserve our Salut..God Bless USA.HE is an American Hero.We need to learn how the little things can build us like a NAtion.God Bless you man!

  • to me... it was one nice act... he didn't do it for something, for money or fame... just purely for the love of the country he lived in... that patriotic of course.

  • Please, all this for some useless piece of cloth. I cant believe some people are calling this guy a hero for folding it. Well, I guess if you ever do the laundry, you can call yourself a hero too.

This is ridiculous. And I know, it's only a matter of time before some holier than thou patriotic ass tries to tell me off.

  • @JudgeEden Seriously...? No...I'm not gonna bother to tell you off...not going to waste my breath...but please...just allow me this much...where does your mom &/or dad live...I want to pay them a visit so that I might slap the both of them for raising you the way they did.

  • @Hooey75

Actually, they didn't raise me like this. Both my parents were in the Navy. My dad, might be bothered with some of the things I say here, he's very patriotic. I can think for myself.

I am a nonconformist by nature, not because I want to be. I realize there are a lot more honorable things a person can do besides folding a flag. Revering the flag the way a typical American does, is idolatry. And for a Christian, is very sinful. I respect no relic or symbol.

  • @JudgeEden..a piece of cloth?? You need to leave my country NOW!! I fought for this country and had friends and family die defending this country. If you don't like it here or can respect this country then leave. We are not holding a gun to your head making you stay, but if you were to say that garbage in front of me. I might hold a gun to your head and march your butt right to the border and make you leave. You make me sick, you're disrespectful. Move to the Middle East or North Korea.

  • @fishdoc2 Everyone is free to say whatever they feel, even if you dont like it...everyone can believe in whatever they want...hold a gun to his head, nazi much?

  • @KokeJr I agree that everyone has their own opinion and can say whatever he wants, but JudgeEden is CLEARLY not patriotic and if you even come close to sympathizing with him/her, then you need to follow him right out of the country too.

  • @robman444

    Yeah, you're right, im not.

You did notice you contradicted yourself in your statement? We can say whatever we want, but im anathema because I dont respect the flag?

You see, im Christian, I have respect for the things the Bible stands for. And if you think the flag represents some of those things, you'd be wrong. This guy wasn't beheaded for proclaiming the truth, he wasn't burned at the stake, nor was he cooked in oil. He doesn't deserve respect for this.

  • @KokeJr ..you are also welcome to join it on it's leaving of this country... Flag Desecration is against the law in some States and mine is one of them.. Hopefully it lives in Nevada where it is a felony, and it sits behind bars for it disrespect of every person who had fought and died defending this country..Nazi?? not even close.. United States Marine

  • @KokeJr

Thank you KokeJr, atleast someone truly knows and comprehends what freedom means.

  • @fishdoc2 its too bad doc... its cause we fight that people like that have that freedom of speech.....

  • @fishdoc2

Look, im sorry you had loved ones die for this country, even as the President takes away your freedoms anyway. And what did I say? I knew some patriotic asshole would try to tell me off, only a matter of time.

  • @fishdoc2

My intention was not to ruffle feathers, but I knew my comment would do that anyway. Besides, I thought this was "Land of the Free", so much for that bullshit huh? Not only do you have the government not giving a shit about you or your so-called "freedoms". But there are also hypocrites like you who speak of freedom, but dont give you the freedom to speak what's on your mind.

  • @fishdoc2

Just because I live here, doesn't mean I have to show respect in anyway. Do yourself a favor and look up the group called "Jesuits".

The only people, frankly, that get respect from me are those who deserve it. In this modern age, I wont show respect for people that just go marching into war without proper research. People that think the government can tell no lies. Jesuits who start wars for nothing.

If you dont like what I say, look the other way and deal with it.

  • @JudgeEden A man who has nothing still has respect for this country, something I doubt people like you have.It is people like you with your disrepectful attitude that makes me think there is no hope for humanity period, but then a homeless guy comes along and shows me that there just may be some left.

  • @lumbeeman01

Lol, oh brother. A man folding the flag has given you hope in humanity? I have respect, truly I do, just not for some "symbol". Everyday our freedoms are getting taken away. All the fighting in those world wars did nothing. The President will take away your rights anyway, whether you like it or not.

True freedom is fleeting, it cant be found. But people like you will continue to bury your head in the sand.

  • @JudgeEden

I am a Christian as well, and I find this video very inspiring actually, more people should be like this homeless man, including you. "This guy wasn't beheaded for proclaiming the truth, he wasn't burned at the stake, nor was he cooked in oil. He doesn't deserve respect for this." So, from that sentence, I can assume you don't think the men and women who fight for us and have not died, deserve respect either right?

  • @GoldenAxeArcade

No, I dont think they do. Maybe in some ways, to those who know them. I, however, dont know them. All I can go by is what I know they did. They participated in a war that was done for evil intent, I wouldn't hate them or dislike them for that, but I wont show them respect either. They could have done the research.

I will never be like this person and take time out of my life for a flag of any kind. A person, sure, not a flag.

  • @JudgeEden

Tell me something. Why do you choose to live in America? Why do you not move to Iran, or another country instead of the United States? Well, I'll answer that for you. You simply stay here so you can have the freedom you have now. Try going to Iran and act the same way you do now in America. Guess what, you wouldn't be able to. In fact, you would probably be killed for being a Christian. It saddens me that you have no respect for this country or the people fighting for your freedom.

  • @GoldenAxeArcade

Why do I CHOOSE to live in America!? I'll ignore the stupid question.

Dont try and act like I can say whatever I want, quit acting like that;s a freedom, because it's not. Most people commenting on this video have proved that. It saddens me that you actually care if I give this country respect or not. You're Christian, shouldn't you be happy that I am too? Instead of bickering about pride and respect for a country that doesn't deserve anything?

  • @GoldenAxeArcade

Most of what you think is truth is a lie, I would never support lies, and this country is full of them. Why feel pride for a country that thinks of you as fodder? I mean, they want YOU to die for it, THEY cant fight for freedom, CAN they?

Would you respect a country that drafted Nazi scientists to continue doing experiments here? I sure wouldn't. Dont act like there are things to feel proud about regarding this country.

  • @GoldenAxeArcade

The countless people wrongfully put in Prisons. They insane stupid laws that are formed. You have Congress making laws behind your back, making the president more powerful. Dont think for a minute that this government is here to protect you. On the contrary, they want you gone. And they could care less that some bum folded a flag and protected it. America is not the paradise, the utopia, most people think it is. Our freedoms will vanish like mist. It has already started.

  • @JudgeEden

I'm well aware that the government is not here for our protection. I'm well aware that Congress is both untrustworthy and corrupt. What the American flag stands for however, is something completely different than congress or the government. The American flag is a symbol of freedom, and what America was supposed to stand for. The only reason America is the way it is today, is because of corrupt leaders, but that in no way diminishes the symbolism of the flag.

  • @GoldenAxeArcade

There will always be corrupt leaders. War will always be present, and freedoms shall be continually taken away. Only when Judgement Day comes, and God comes to bring everyone back from the dead, is the day when war, corruption, and all other forms of wrong shall end. Until then, we must endure what is given to us, and that includes what the corrupt leaders of the United States will throw at us. However, corrupt leaders, do not diminish the sacrifices our men and women make.

  • @GoldenAxeArcade

That is the point I am trying to make. Respect what the country was supposed to stand for. Respect the people who fight for it. You do not have to have respect for the leaders of America, to have respect for what America truly stands for.

  • @GoldenAxeArcade

Still, you dont need the flag to have freedom. I was never big on symbolism. I dont care what symbolizes what. If you love freedom, if you want freedom, if you have freedom, you dont need a stupid flag.

Who cares what it symbolizes. I mean, some opinions here are ridiculous. The flag shouldn't touch the ground!? Why? Do you feel this way too? All of these bogus rules?

The Bible can touch the ground, why not the flag? The Bible is MUCH better than the flag.

  • @JudgeEden Not everyone believes in god, or the bible's stories. However, the flag represents our country. No matter what anyone's opinion is. If you don't believe in our country, nor have pride...then so what. Okay, it doesn't matter to you. It's not like it's illegal for the flag to touch the ground. The fact of the matter is...this is where you live. This is your country. It's just out of respect. That's all. No one is arresting you for dropping a flag.

  • @myotheremail108

I respect your opinion. You may have been the second person to tell me your opinion calmly, and without insult. Thanks.

  • The point is that this man took advantage of an opportunity to do the right thing when he saw it. We can all learn from this example. Whether it is stopping to help someone we see who needs some help...or something little like picking up a piece of trash we see on the sidewalk and throwing it away. Most of us would have to admit we look away when we are given those opportunities. It amazes me how terribly you miss the point of this as nothing you are moaning about has to do with this.

  • @JudgeEden ...Your f**king computer should not allow you to login !!! Hey smart ass, go shout all these comments to U.S Soldiers who just came back from Iraq or Afghan. You're just an agitator.

  • @GoldenAxeArcade

Of course, most of what I said pertains to Christians. The Bible and what it says, is TRUE freedom. People murdering others is not the way to freedom. There will always be wars, and none of them solve anything.

And why would I have respect for what the country is SUPPOSED to stand for? Why have respect for something that doesn't exist? And, again, I will not have respect for those who fight for the powers that be. They chose to do what they do.

  • @GoldenAxeArcade

Also, who made the flag? Freemasons made the flag. Why should I respect a creation of a cult? There are stars on the flag too, actually, they're more akin to pentagrams. And when it comes to the people that live here, they accept whatever the lying government tells them. They celebrate at the mere mention of Hiroshima or Nagasaki, without even researching what really happened.

Those cities were bombed for nothing, and I should have pride? Yeah right.

  • @JudgeEden

Well, your opinion is your opinion. That's the good thing about a free country, you're entitled to your own opinion.

  • @GoldenAxeArcade

Yeah? Well, tell that to those who want my head on a platter.

  • @JudgeEden Bombed for nothing? It ended the war didnt it?

And yes Japanese civilians who were not part of the war did die. But when you attack intentionally a nations civilians first don't bitch when they attack your own. I salute the flag, and i do it proudly, American isn't without its black spots in history, but what country is. We still can criticize our government. we can call out its faults, and why? Because our country is free the least someone can do is show some Goddamn respect.

  • @bryon17

These were people who were bombed! Sadly, those who died couldn't "bitch" about anything, they didn't have a voice. Oh, but, you're entirely happy innocents died huh?

And yes, they were bombed for nothing. No, it didn't end the war, the powers that be ended the war. The bombs didn't have to be dropped. You go ahead and salute the flag, do it with utter blind pride, that's what it is.

Also, no thanks, i'll feel respect for whom or what I feel respect. And it's not the flag.

  • @JudgeEden ..Shut the F**k Up !! This is about a man who did'nt have to do what he did. He did it without anyone's knowledge and with no reward expected. If you don't like the Freemasons...sue them !! Take action, don't just blow smoke up your so called educated views. You don't like the U.S being in wars...sue the government !! Otherwise keep your piehole shut. Got a complaint? Take it to the Complaint Dept.

  • @chetohimler

Sue the Freemasons.......Yeah sure, that'll work.

    Anyway, shut up.

  • @JudgeEden ..of course not SOB, you don't have proof. You talk about Freemasons, Jesuits,Japan bombings,Christians,The Bible...etc. Who are you trying to educate? Patriotic Honor is what stares at you everytime you open your fucking mouth. You have the right to say anything you want, right. Too bad you don't have the integrity. I hear your parents were Navy. I guess it will rip your heart when they die and have their coffins draped with the Flag they served under. Agitator S.O.B. !!!!!

  • @GoldenAxeArcade

And even IF what the government told you about Pearl Harbor was true, countless Japanese who were not part of the war died. You can't pick and choose what to feel proud about. If you salute the flag, you salute EVERYTHING this country has ever done, the good and the bad.

The flag doesn't just represent "freedom", but every atrocity ever committed by America's hand. Not to mention, all those that support it.

  • @JudgeEden Doesn't every flag symbolize the evils of said nation? Do you look at both sides of the coin? The flag also represents all the great things this nation has accomplished. Furthermore, so what about countless Japanese dying in the war? They are called casualties of war, welcome to planet earth, stop crying over spilled milk, it happens. The flag represents freedom and man's struggle in a harsh world. There is no such thing as a perfect country.. some are just freer than others.

  • make him a hero, he deserves it, you know how Americans are patriotic and do the one without a name, a hero

  • This guy did this at 1:40 in the morning during a storm that knocked the flag and poll down. The flag is a symbol not something that military, the president, law enforcement or regular citizens worship. its almost like saying people worship the cross instead of Jesus. So get it right when u talk about what something actually means.

  • this man is an american hero, if i knew where he was staying i would buy him a

40 oz and some crack rock

  • I'm not patriotic at all however if this man will go out of his way for this. He is welcome at my house anytime. I will give him a meal, a shower and a bed.

  • he ex army .. see how he fold the flag.

  • I could see if he was saving another human being or any living being, for that matter. Seriously what if he had lost his life? For the American flag? Get real.

  • @grape12able My hats go off to the troops... honestly, it does. But When people start valuing the american flag over human life, that's where I draw the line. I get the symbolism and all of that, but in the end, that's all it is... just a thought. I know some people that would rather die than piss on the american flag. yeah, you die "proud" but what does that really mean anyway?

  • @grape12able Wow this is your 2nd post knocking patriotism. You really should get out of here. Actually, I'll personally buy your ticket for you to get out of America forever!

  • Mr. Johnny Cash has a good old story for the flag..... you should type..... Ragged Old Flag..... in the search area above..pick the first one on the top of page ....might give everybody a better idea why some feel the way they do about her....thanks...

  • I'm pretty sure this poor guy has been kicked off every park bench in America and looked down upon by everyone who has commented hypocritically, of him being "civilized, hero, etc". Besides, it's only a piece of cloth for godness sakes

  • @grape12able Just a piece of cloth? I bet you would walk right over it if you came across it laying on the ground. People like you should just pack your bags and get the F out!

  • @EvilOne2008 why should he leave..lol becuase you say so?

  • @Xenthoid I think you should leave too bitch. How about those fucking apples!

  • @EvilOne2008 You sound stupid as fuck for telling people to leave just because they don't think that picking up a piece of colorful cloth is important.

  • @EvilOne2008 lol you're a joke.

  • @Xenthoid Don't mind him. He was dropped on his ass as a child and because that's where his head is located, there were some uh.... side effects, **twirling finger around side of my head** if you know what I mean...

  • @PhantomLyric agreed i love the nationalists that run around attempting to cloak themselves in stars and strips...There no better than the religious zealots that kill people in the name of their faith.. zealots are zealots..

i love how they say if you dont like it here you should go to n korea. or something..always extremes.. they fell to realize that good change has come from people that didn't like how things are going in the country...

  • nice story thanks

  • bcoz that flag helped a lot of country

  • a nice doormat for everyone like they like to have. A lot of you watery eyed idealists can thank him personally by kicking him when you see him like he obviously likes so much. Then again his living conditions are a lot better than most so-called homeless people, so I get his over abudant sense of wellbeing!

  • I remember a while ago there was news about a homeless man in Queens saved a woman from being attacked and was stabbed himself. The woman just ran away and nearly 25 people just walked by without helping him. Now look at this. It's funny, isn't it?

  • @DarkRoseST Amen man, no one wants to help anyone anymore. Seen a lady fall once in Bucharest and at least 30 people walked by her without offering help before I got to her. It's everywhere. We are more me than we. I remember the guy from Queens too dude. No such thing as manners anymore.

  • @DarkRoseST

agreed...as mentioned before..too much is placed on a symbol....

  • In a freeking rainstorm this poor guy saves this flag.Give this guy some help maybe a job he desearves it..even with him being homeless is this country he shows respect for this country. Not many people who have everything in the world would never do this.Thank You Sir.

  • @Muddcrazy You mean that's all a person has to do to get a job?

  • Not many people will be willing to do this but not this homeless many. Thank you for your patriotism act!

  • Amen Krykoid! cpDq231 The reason YOU don't get it is why it makes it even more special that this man took the time to save it.

  • TRUE AMERICAN PRIDE!

  • As an American, if you know what the flag stands for, then you will understand why this is considered a big deal. The American flag should NEVER touch the ground, and by him doing this, he is showing that even homeless, he has respect for our country. It seems trivial to a lot of people, but it shows the greatest amount of respect to the ones who founded this country, and to those who sacrificed their lives to maintain the freedoms tha we have.

  • i dont see whats so special about saving a flag. Maybe saving a person but a flag???

  • @cpDq231 you will never get it.

  • @cpDq231 its what the flag represents, and the condition this man is coming from, sure he may not be a hero in the traditional sense, but he is a hero of ideals

  • @bigreddawg91 But that doesn't mean anything, really. It's a nice thought... would make a lovely poem... a tear jerky of a short story, screen play, or movie... but in the end, he's still bumb. And for most, that's all he'll ever be. The rest of his life, he'll roam the streets and be treated as such. This 15 minutes of fame have come and gone. I don't know your feelings on bumbs, but it's safe to say that most people these days don't care for them.

  • @PhantomLyric and despite all that he still respects his country enough to go out of his way to treat the flag with the respect that it has earned.

bums, i feel bad for, If i pass one in the street i'll give them any loose change i have, because really its a heartbreaker that they're treated as such

  • @bigreddawg91 When the troops go out there and risk their necks for other people's safety... they're not doing it for the flag. When the cops and fireman suite up each day prepare for their possible last... they're not doing it for the flag. When the President, his counsel, and the other people in public officer push their pencils and march up and down the stairs of the capital building, they're not doing it for the flag. They're doing it for the people. All this flag worship is idolatry.

  • @PhantomLyric everything you've said is what the flag represents, it's a symbol, and since the flag represents all that, it represents the sacrifices the troops have made and why theyve made them, it represents the cops and firemen and why the suit up. so when you treat the symbol of all that with proper respect and reverence, you are giving respect to everything which it stands for, the people, the cops, soldiers, why they fight, why they suit up, etc.

  • @bigreddawg91 For some people, that same flag represents death, dishonor, and oppression. Are they wrong? - Again, it's idolatry. A symbol of these things will not make or break the country. If someone took the crucifix and threw it into a fire, is that going to kill God? Is the world going to cease to exists? In the end, the crucifix necklace is a piece of metal manufactured with and like anything esle one wears. Certainly God would not be displeased.

  • @PhantomLyric I would be willing to bet that those people for whom the flag represents death, dishonor, and oppression are NOT Americans, probably illegal aliens, and DEFINITELY NOT Patriots. The American Flag has symbology, that's a fact, look it up. It is what it is and if you don't believe in it, then you shouldn't be allowed the freedoms that this country provides. How HYPOCRITICAL of you to exercise your FREE SPEECH here when you CLEARLY don't deserve it.

  • @robman444 lol... you see... because a man rejects a piece of cloth and decides to let his history and his heart speak for themselves, he's considered a traitor and unamerican. I know people that who would want to kill a person for botching the National Anthem. No... The don't bring your disgusts for "illegal aliens" into this argument because they have nothing to do with it. I'll contnue in another reply.

  • @robman444 @robman444 Just because I'm stating these facts doesn't mean they reflect my own opinion so keep your panties on... Keep in mind that the Natives had to basically be exterminated for you to fly that flag you're so fond of. Keep in mind that blacks suffered for nearly 400 years and as a result of that red, white, and blue oppression are still suffering today, and keep in mind that under that very same flag and behind that very same flag, all of it was justified. So tell that to them!

  • @PhantomLyric I understand the history and I sympathize with those who were oppressed. The country may have been wrong in the past, but that was then and this is now. Yes, I agree black oppression was wrong, that's why it doesn't exist anymore. But it is not about the cloth, what that homeless man did was simply about the flag representing Freedom and Patriotism. If someone's clothes had blown off the clothes line, he wouldn't have taken so much time to fold them.

  • @robman444 You're probably right, but I would see more symbolism in that; that, despite a man's economical situation, despite the way the world shits on him at any given moment, he has the common courtesy to pick up someone's fallen laundry, fold it, and place it in a dry place during a major storm... now, that's american and the "Christian" thing to do. Think honestly for a second. If I were to stand in front of your house and set the american flag on fire, what would you feel?

  • @PhantomLyric I would feel like your UN-AMERICAN. I would video tape you, zoom in on your face, post the video on Youtube, and let the world criticize you. I understand where your coming from with the flag representing different things for different people, but bottom line, it represents FREEDOM. The freedom that gives that homeless guy the right to sleep on the street and for us to say what we're saying here. That's it!
