  • Chitraji is such a good singer of ghazals that it is indeed a tragedy that she does not sing any more

  • lovely

  • vey good song.

  • Very nice.............i just love this ghazal

  • One of the many soul stirring n mellifluous numbers by the "numero uno" in the field of ghazal singing.....this man took dis art to a different level....rhythms of an ingenuous class.....he stays alive in our reminiscence.....the articulate way in which he presented his songs r worth emulating.....RIP

  • One of the best ghazals by the duet. I wish that Chitra Ji can hold it together and make a comeback someday.

  • R.I.P Jagjit Singh, Lost of Great Legend, so sad!

  • Ahh...i heart has all aaah for the loss of Jagjit Sahab...My eyes get filled with water when i see this couple singing this song...One of the partner went away into the cruel jaws of death..God bless you sahab

  • SUNTY HA K MIL JATY HA HER CHEEZ DUA SE

EK ROZ TUMHE MANG K DEAKHY GY KHUDA SE

JUB KUCH NA MILA HATH DUAO KO UTHA KER

PHER HATH UTHANY HI PARE HUM KO DUA SE

DUNYA B MILY HA,, GHUM E DUNYA B MILA HA

WO KYO NAHI MILTA JISE MANGA THA KHUDA SE

TUM SAMNY BETHY HO ,, TO HA KAIF KI BARISH

WO DIN B THY JUB AAG BARASTE THI GHUTTA SE

  • R.I.P Jagjit Sir ..You will be deeply missed !!!

  • great voices with graet poetry really

  • what a great voice, for ever young!

  • ahang dil ha jagjit singh

  • This is one of my favourite song of Jagjit Singh and Citra. Chitra lost her both son and daughter. When I listen to this song. I feel the pain and sadness in Chitra's voice. It's sad her son died in a car accident and her daughter commit suicide.

  • i really like this ghazal.it is true that everything we can fine by pray just we should pray from heart

  • can someone pls let me know what is "Kaif" as in stanza..."tum samne baithe ho to hai kaif ki baarish"

  • @VineetBhatt2 :) i have the same question. can someone plz answer. thanks in advance

  • @VineetBhatt2 and @tilottoma816

Kaif ki baarish - alludes to rainfall/downpour (baarish) of exhilaration/happiness (kaif)

  • You can listen this over and over again... Truly amazing!

Just wish we get to listen to Chitra ji again...

  • Husband and wife, arguably the best ghazal singers in the world.

  • I love it. Now and many years ago as well. One and only.

  • how can u question his own composition and make a fool of yourself....look at him and look at yourself u asshole...pathatic...

  • @rprajpal umm with all due respect O great and magnificent rajpal yadav, i do not care about looking at him or me for that matter. the degree of quality was sub-par in this. But of course since you can't spell pathetic correctly you would not know what i just said.

  • its a wonderful composition , nice poetry & beautifully sung by jagjit & chitra ji

    johnditta

  • Great ghazal. But sounds like chitra is trying to sing in slower version then Jagjit. You can hear her catching up with him when they are singing together. Does anybody have this song on a CD recording instead of live one. Please uplaod. Thanx

  • absolutely divine !!!!

  • did u find the meaning to this

  • yes, but it is just a part of a ghazal, its could be so great to know the meaning of the whole ghazal at once !

  • one of the most beautiful ghazals by jagjit-chitra !

  • I have been listening to this song for I don't know how long.

In fact, I have got an LP record of Jagjit and Chitra Singh which has got many of their religious songs and it's got one of this song too..

  • Simply Awesome

  • very nice. I am speechless

  • wow, how can somebody sing so good, how can somebody write such great lyrics, out of this world, ten thumbs up.

  • such a sweet ghazal.....duniya bhi mili he ghumey duniya bhi mila he....wo kyu nahi milta jisey maanga tha khuda sey?

  • could you translate it to me please ?

  • i have been given the world and the world's ills as well .. why can i not be given the one that i asked my god for?

  • I DONT KNOW

  • Is that true that Jagjit Chitra divorced??

  • chitra has given up singing evr since jagjit&her son died in a car-crash abt 15 yrs ago.recently her daughter from 1st marriage (b4 jagjit),commited suicide..once agn she is fighting depression.she always remains at home only.

  • @shamsia52j She is in Bombay, left singing after the death of her son. and now we will only hear him on youtube or personal collections. RIP JagjitG, we will miss you dearly.

  • Mansharabi - barah chunga kum keetha :)

  • i had this ghazal in a cassette in 1984, used to listen to it day in day out. Then lost track of it, now heard it after 25 years and it still touches raw chords in ones heart, why do we mourn yesteryear s when we very well know the circle of life, what drama GOD has created by creating Man!

  • @nisarkhan2008

Sometimes you feel undertsood by the words of others, shukriyaa for your comment.

  • diana ross inm indian style she just so good

  • Awesome - brings me back my memories of my teenage years.

  • Thank you. This is my favourite and I didn't expect it to be here. It's awesome.

  • Graet ghazal

  • Great ghazal but its not complete?

  • A lot of music snobs knock them, but I think time will prove them to have been truly unique and such a rare combination. Perfect assimilation of pitches, delicate and mellifluous voices that interweave, seamlessly appear and disappear to weave an amazing aural tapestry. Their sad loss and Chitra's decision to stop performing has been all our loss. We have grieved the loss of our nightingale as she has grieved the tragic loss of her beloved son. I hope she finds peace.

  • This ghazal make all of my friend cry

    awesome jagjit and chitra

  • Aha Araam aa geya sun ke

    Jama-e-Taputa

  • kya baat ae ji .... super hit ghazal , te top class singers ....

  • mindblowingly melodious

  • dunia be mili hay gamain dunia be mila hay wah wah no words for thiss great.

  • Two great voices together..... its not good for Ghazal Lovers that Chitra stop singing after they lost their son. They lost their son and we lost a great singer like her

    We still MISS her voice

    Bless her

  • how old is this clip.

  • I had a old audio tape of my father when i was in college. The name was Tamanna. That had this ghazal and aslo dua by amna iqbal lab pe aati hai dua banke. I still remember the RED color of cover. We missed that somewhere. :-(

  • 'In your light I learn how to love,

in your beauty, how to make poems.

    You dance inside my chest,

    where no one sees you,

but sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art' Rumi

  • wah wah !!!what a nice ghazal.

  • hillarious singing by chitra jee and jagjeet singh jee. Aaab to in dono ko suna naheen ja sakta as they are no more husband wife. God bless them . thanks for nice upload my friend.

  • Shut the fup jackass

  • Dear Sir , they are my family friends , they are very well husband wife and are staying together in worli sea face mumbai , chitra ji has stopped singing after her sons tragic death :(

  • Tapemagic jee : I am really sorry for my comments. That happened as one of my friend told me that their son died in accident and they divorced which was false information. I an very thankful to you for letting me know. If it is like that I wish both of them a long life as both are very much fantastic singers. I am extremely sorry for this mistake. But at the same time I am glad that everything is very good except tragic death of their beloved son.

  • I need this ghazal in MP3 or any other audio format, can anyone help?

In this video last few seconds missing.

    I want full.

  • Sometimes, something you ask from GOD does not come true for our own good. Sometimes when you want something very bad and don't get it ... that feeling is very depressing. This is one of my favourite ghazal of Jagjit Singh. Chitra's voice is so, sweet. Thanks for sharing this video with youtube.

  • I think only those who have love and lost will understand and connect with this GHAZAL.

More than the singer i respect the Writer of the song more...is it GHALIB?

  • i m not sure who actually wrote it, but its not ghalib for sure

  • @shwetasks hummm u r right

  • @mmafghan535

thats one of my fav. ghazals! but sometimes man proposes and god disposes,

  • @shwetasks

Its not Ghalib for sure... researching who wrote it..

  • @manojchaswal Rana Akbarabadi

  • @shwetasks Rana Akbarabadi

  • @shwetasks how it can be ghalib

  • @shwetasks

NO it is certainly Not Ghalib, but i cant get hold of the twin LPs I have or I would have found out and posted the name. it is some one lot less of a personality than Great Mirza Ghalib

    It is some pakistani Shaayar

    my fav lines are :

tum samne baithe ho to hai kaif ki baarish

wo din bhi the jab aag barasti the ghata se...

  • Wat a beautiful style she has........awesome

  • In my views this ghazal SHOULDNT be heard IF YOU DONT HAVE DAAROO TO DRINK, IF U R NOT SITTING IN DARK, IF YOU DO NOT HAVE SOOTA TO SMOKE, then its better to not to listen this great thing...THIS MASTER PIECE OF POETRY AND SINGING HAS SOME SPECIAL NEEDS AND RESPECTS, without them its better you do not listen to it.

  • good work keep it up

  • Beautiful ghazal by Rana Akbar Abadi Sb., father of Janab Sohail Rana Sb., the famous composer from Pakistan.

In most of their duets you wsill find this synchronization problem. Even musicians seem confused at times.

Overall, it is a good composition in Darbari and brought many memories standing right in front of me-reminding me of pleasant and tranquil evenings of Karachi - 25 years back...

  • my fav song,, really
