I used to have this on tape-- taped it right off 120 Minutes when it aired. There's another few minutes of the interview that precedes the clip here. DK asks Martin what the lyrics to Personal Jesus are about, to which Martin replies 'I hate when people explain songs; songs should be mysterious', a statement to which both Mart and DK allude a couple times in the clip here.

wow, this brings back memories. I really miss 120 Minutes and Dave Kendall. This is back in the day when even Depeche Mode were designated to three minute interviews at 1 am on a sunday night. You really had to search and be patient to find news about non-commercial bands, and Dave Kendall was great about bringing it.
