John is unfortunately not recognized as "aA CANADIAN MUSIC LEGEND" as he very much deserves......I am SCOTCH/IRISH.....come from a long line of P.E.I. guitar and fiddle players......I am a percussionist, and a SPOONMAN.......the only thing missing in the video!!! GOD LUV YA' John....on the GOLDEN RIBBON....Love The McDonald clan,KELLY'S CROSS,P.E.I.
John Allan was from my hometown. He was probably the first one to leave Home so he could better himself in the music industry. He was a very talented Man. We all miss him dearly. He is in our Hearts And minds all the time. He was probably instrumental in getting alot of singers off on the right track.
I remember Jimmy playing I got some of him and Don Ross, Graham Townsend some guy from Windsor married to John Allan's niece. I would have to dig up the old tapes.
@irishroad yes, there is a video on you tube actually, type his name in. He is still at it, and does a GREAT job. facebook him too, he also has a band page, Regale.
Great stuff! I was wondering if you have any more footage of that night. I think Jimmy Rankin was there that night as well if I'm not mistaken. Will you be posting any more footage to Youtube?
Great video...what a collaboration!! YOu know, there's something so neat about watching a couple of guys in suits and bowties slapping out the feisty Cape Breton music on their guitars. Really great!
Oh God, how tired, he is nice even if he is gay! Fuck off! Ashley love your music, I miss John Allen, he was such a nice person.
Merry Christmas thanks for the post.
