@minibikerider1 No, the toy is not illegal... The Silencer is. And you dont HAVE to have the orange tip after you buy it. The tip is just for legal issues while selling them. Not all Airsoft guns have the orange tip and NO paintball guns have them. But if because of the nature of how a silencer works... it COULD be used on a real firearm. Which is the reason they are considered to be a class 2 firearm, and thats why you have to register it with the ATF. Got questions? Google it.

the foam idea works great for gas airsoft handguns (non-blowback) since the pressure and noise is mainly out the barrel and no slide movement, (unlike spring airsoft where the noise is made from the internal spring not out the barrel)

Airsoft suppressors actually hollow out the sound, doesn't silence it, I still have and using a silcencer from the Stinger P21C or what ever, it's a Crosman Stinger USP remake, clear plastic with a thread on silencer, but it can fit on my Stinger P32 and actually hollows out the sound, thus making it echo less, and makes my gun sexier.

Face facts, a paintball gun will never look even close to real steel, even if you dress it up correctly. The closest I've seen a paintball gun get is RAP4 with their M4 and AK47 markers. As far as money to looks goes, airsoft is better; and that can make the difference for some people deciding between the two. Buy a real rifle? I assume you know why people play paint ball; it's the exact same reason people play airsoft.

True, but those expensive ones are also metal; just another thorn in the side of your argument. My arguement is Paintball is more fun and more of an actual simulation of a shootout because of the reprocussions of being shot. = PAIN. Honostly, one of the biggest attractions to airsoft is the fact that the toys look more realistic. That is a genuine fact. If you don't care about how the toy looks, then fine, you have the right to think that. But just realise that for airsofters, the look is pretty important. Think of it what you will. And woops, I forgot to address your main point. I am trying to argue that both are equally fun. Think about the wider audience. Both well have its appeals to the masses.

One other thing I had to add. It shouldn't be the fear of pain that deters you from getting hit, it should be the fact that you help the team fail if you get out. Its the same with both. The way you put pain in paintball seems both very masochistic and sadistic. Sure, pain can show you have more gonads, but if you ask me, working as the better team gives you even more respect. It's the same in both paintball and airsoft. Hopefully that's it from me.

I call that the destruction of the M4 Carbine...but otherwise, I came up for a simple solution for a silencer for a pistol and this is suprisingly similar but I would use diff materials and just have to find a long piece long enough to hold then insidings, and I would change one thing, is in the middle, put a perfectly straight piece of something in there so its like theres a tube in the middle thats just perfectly smooth/flat, that would probably give a few extra yards or so.
