We r one of the few countries in the world NOT in debt. We can take ALL the money now to pay the poor but what will be left for our children? Agree, Singaporeans should not be blinded by the word CHANGE. Making our lives worse is also a type of Change. Some oppositions have presented credible policies and alternatives. But not all. Although the CPF issue is not that important because i have not reach the age to worry about it, but i worry for my future. We dont speculate and assume the worst, means we will never be prepared for the worst to come. He spoke like oh, i have a fat paycheck my savings is ENOUGH for me so CPF no need touch no need think of the worst. If you look at it from the aged lower income people's point of view, they cant even save enough a month. CPF needs to be release not by a age specific limit set.

The purpose of having oppositions is to oppose these decision makers(current government) for our Singapore. Theoretically, who in the right mind in the parliament would vote against a good policy made by the ministers? But if the government decides to make a bad decision for the country (GST increase, Public Transport Fare increase, Utilities bills increase, Immigrant Policy, Cheaper housing for immigrant). With the majority say in the parliament, they can just pass any policy they like.
Furthermore, every opposition party have different takes on policies. Lumping them all together seems to imply that if you want these changes, vote the opposition... Any 1 of the 5 opposition team can do a better job. We should be voting in opposition talents, and better policies. Not just any tom dick and harry from any opposition team.

@gemidise Even if the PAP lose and the opposition gets to form a new government, I do not think the PAP will become a minority voice in the Parliament. Contrary to what some people thinks, there are actually many people who still believes in the PAP. So the PAP will become the check-and-balance, assuming they become more of 'everyone' mindset instead of an 'me' mindset. And as the opposition is not a singular party, we can safely assume there will be many voices in Parliament.

The fact is elderly annuitants need the TRUTHFUL bonus of $115 per month to offset the higher cost of living.
$70,000 is saved in bank receives 2 percent yearly interest = $1400, but insured NTUC annuitants only received $10 yearly SHORT OF $1280 still!.

Dear matt, the SG Gov does not use just the tax payers money to do upgrading, care and share package. They used these money for prudent investments to increase out budget. We r one of the few countries in the world NOT in debt. We can take ALL the money now to pay the poor but what will be left for our children? They shouldn't have let property be driven my market forces causing housing to be almost unaffordable for all. Including me. Every gov makes mistakes but they will change

Agree, Singaporeans should not be blinded by the word CHANGE. Making our lives worse is also a type of Change. Some oppositions have presented credible policies and alternatives. But not all. It will be absolute bias to say that PAP has been doing a bad job. They have done some good, some bad. We need the right opposition to improve on what's wrong. And not just CHANGE everything cos it's PAP. Singaporeans, please think before following.

Although the CPF issue is not that important because i have not reach the age to worry about it, but i worry for my future. We dont speculate and assume the worst, means we will never be prepared for the worst to come. He spoke like oh, i have a fat paycheck my savings is ENOUGH for me so CPF no need touch no need think of the worst. If you look at it from the aged lower income people's point of view, they cant even save enough a month. CPF needs to be release not by a age specific limit set.

The purpose of having oppositions is to oppose these decision makers(current government) for our Singapore. Theoretically, who in the right mind in the parliament would vote against a good policy made by the ministers? But if the government decides to make a bad decision for the country (GST increase, Public Transport Fare increase, Utilities bills increase, Immigrant Policy, Cheaper housing for immigrant). With the majority say in the parliament, they can just pass any policy they like.

PAP refused to listen, refused to cut cost of living. Prices are up quietly even in NTUC fairprice. Nascafe 3-in-1 up from $5.15 to %6.15, Quaker oatmeal up from $4.20 to $4.95.... Time to vote wisely. They can cut GST, water consumption tax, petrol duty, school fees, tuition fees for Poly and universities. But are they doing so?

We should not vote for 'change' sake, but change for the better. It's a bit of a relief that the opposition starting to look more qualified. Joining the opp is very sacrificial of them, risking their names, reputation, knowing that PAP (using the court of law) will attack them under the belt? However I urge everyone to vote responsibly. PAP has been instrumental in making Singapore famous n successful in so many ways. So if your area has doubtful crazy opp ... we have to be level headed.

@gemidise Even if the PAP lose and the opposition gets to form a new government, I do not think the PAP will become a minority voice in the Parliament. Contrary to what some people thinks, there are actually many people who still believes in the PAP. So the PAP will become the check-and-balance, assuming they become more of 'everyone' mindset instead of an 'me' mindset. And as the opposition is not a singular party, we can safely assume there will be many voices in Parliament.

In the vid 3.19 news article, 106,600 PMET jobs for fillipinos is so true, this is what happen in our local banks call centre where almost 60% of the jobs were taken by fillipinos and 5% to PRCs and the rest only to local workers. If u dun believe make a call to one of our local bank and a fillipino will ans ur call most of the time. WTH has happen to singapore? in mrt, u can see so mant FTs taking up ur MRT seats and bus seats. I had to wait for the 3rd MRT train to get up at amk stn.
