  • How much of each?

  • My chemistry teacher put some of this stuff all over our class one day. He put tiny amounts and spread them all around. We walked in that day and the whole hour it was CRACK CRACK CRACK. Then during our test, my friend stepped on a pretty sizable piece and BOOM! He was pretty smug looking until my teacher told him that his leg could have been blown off.

  • @FlamingMonkeyInc 1-It detonates. The chances of injury are high. Detonations are a whole new world vs. firecrackers and such. 2-when it dry it's good to blow. Can't handle it when dry. 3-Yes, if you're an adult. The ammonia that is used is typically a strong ammonia. The store bought stuff isn't very good for this. 4-As long as there was no injury it would be hillarious. But, deafness. blindess, and bits of face blowing off are not so funny. Give this stuff a test drive b4 you do anything w/it

  • When I was at school - many years ago - we discovered just how much fun one can have by painting this stuff onto the bottoms of toilet seats.....

  • @FlamingMonkeyInc Yeah, mix potassium iodine and hydrochloric acid, then add in hydrogen peroxide. But if you don't have all this u can buy it where i said previously.

  • @billytalentrocks345 hydrochloric acid smells like rotten eggs but 15x more powerful and it burns your nose

  • @TheBikefish No...

HCl smells like burning. If you're smelling rotten eggs it is because of impurities in your chems, containers, or instruments. Said impurites can lead to H2S production. You smell eggs get out, open a window. GET FRESH AIR and without a second breath. H2S is as toxic as cyanide. But, thio and nitrite aside, you can be saved from cyanide poisoning. Sometimes, you cannot with H2S. H2S : Really bad shit. Oh, chlorine gas wrecks your lungs more than HCL gas. Weird, huh?

  • @jody4403363881 i said hydrochloric acid not hci

  • @TheBikefish HF - hydroflouric HCl - hydrochloric HBr - hydrobromic HI - Hydriotic (assuming gasses are dissolved in water.) H2S - hydrogen sulfide H2SO4 - sulfuric acid. The 'L' in my previous to last sentence should have been lowercase. I don't think Ci is an element; I am unsure. And, I don't think that For that matter, I don't believe HCI (that is an i) exists. Again, it may. Carbon tetraiodide is CI4. If you sub an N for the I you get Hydrocyanic acid. It smells like almonds, for a second;)

  • @FlamingMonkeyInc The iodine may be mixed with a solvent, but just let it evaporate if it is.

  • @billytalentrocks345 The ioding will evaporate if you do

  • @FlamingMonkeyInc 3 Ammonia is used for cleaning and is easy to get. Iodine can be bought at a drugstore used for cleaning wounds.

  • Wow, taht was a big smoke-cloud from NI3! How many grams of iodine did you use?

  • ... they must really have been thinking hard when they decided to go outside blowing that up.. since the breath of a man can detonate it

  • @Basse9419 or... HARDLY thinking...

  • @Basse9419 only if you use lab grade amonia to produce the NT. If you use household amonia to make it, like a sane person would, it is much safer and needs to be struck pretty hard to detonate. An ant can set off NT made with lab amonia.

  • @Basse9419 and brathing iodine vapor is bad too

  • this substance also comes in a liquid form which is stable when wet and active once it dries its alot of fun for prancs ie painted onto a toilet seat but has very little practical uses it was made by accident by a brit

  • @Creed0101 I saw some people on a TV-show called braniac @national geographic channel where they painted something on the toilets and TVs. Maby that was NI3. It was awesome.

  • Holy-Terrorist:>*=* aïe !

  • The reactants are not pressure reactive. Only the nitrogen tri-iodide is (and only when wet)

  • yeah but what do you mean ammonia? you mean the liquid or gas?

(the liquid one is actually ammonia hydroxide)

  • wrap the crystals in ducktape and you can throw it

  • I reckon the force would kaboooom it

  • You can't even toutch them, so how are you supposed to do so?

  • yeah but unless you can wrap it while its reacting (liquid form) it will explode in your hands

  • it is super sensitive you would not be able to touch it. even a fly landing on it will set it off

  • @aqup5991 that be a funny video goog way to exterminate flies bwahaha

  • yeah somone should make a video of that ha ha ha would be so funny

  • @thomas242007 I guess your're talking about the Anarchist's Cookbook right?

I have'em, and yeah it seems quite easy, I really wanna do those, actually I'm on a chemistry specialty on high school, so hoopefuly I'll be doing it without blowing myself up xD

  • Dude do you wan't to kill your self?

NI3 is one of the most friction/shok sensitive chemical compounds known.

Just don't ever synthesise this compound again!

If that same ammound that your detonating there, go's off in your hands, you will loose some fingers, or even worse!

  • It is notoriously unstable, but that wasn't an especially dangerous amount.

  • Ah, I see you are knowledgeable from your ability to use words like "Synthesize" and "Compound".

  • god dam i did it but it was big man fycking peeps asked y i shot my gun in town =[ not kool

  • use iodine crystals

  • not that simple you can blow your face off, a small breeze will set it off

  • it's simple, but once it's dry it's a bitch for friction, pressure and heat.

  • just iodine and ammonia?!

  • Pure Iodine, of course. None of that red/brown liquid iodine tincture from a pharmacy. That's iodine in solution in alcohol.
