  • im so glad people are listening to 70+80s music+notice they can sing +play there own instruments im 47 so i grew up with all that music the music of today rubbish apart from the steriophonics but those 2 decades of music will never come around again

  • I was 15 and there he was gorgeous with those eyes and lashes....and the songs were great tooooooo....

  • Oh, memories of thy youth. Happy and painful all at once.

  • I never could compare David with Justin or any other... David is the only one in my heart.

  • If the young girls of today could hear this they would know just how UNTALENTED Bieber is. This guy has a voice. Bieber is a manufactured piece of shit. Little girls fall for his girlie looks. They dont realize what good music is. This song has stood the test of time. It sounds as good now as it did 30 years ago. Lets see who listens to Biebers music in 30 years time.

  • 1970's music was simply the best, always bring back happy memories of school days and being at home with your family, something that todays music i dont think could ever possibly do!

  • What a crush I had on him. Look at his eyes. David Cassidy will always have a special part in my heart. I wish him all the happiness in the world.May he find peace when it comes to his relationship with his dad. Who was also a beautiful man..and now his daughter katie cassidy she is beautiful can't wait to see her in t.v. and movies.Good luck Katie.

  • I'd like to stack this up against that young buck Bieber, cos I think that DC would win any time.

  • This is the 1st ever record I ever bought back in the 70s when music was music unlike (as already said) the crap that passes as music today. In fact I think I still got the single tucked away!!!!!!!!!!

  • O God my childhood! this was my all time favourite tune from David Cassidy

  • Hi! David looks very handsome in this images. Your channel is fabulous Bravo and go ahead with more clips.

  • @wisetrucker-Ironically, he was frustrated by the very music and image that made him rich. He wanted to do the heavy metal stuff, but found success in the pop-top 40 genre. Sadly, his own father was resentful and jealous of David's commercial success. Of course, everyone remembers that David dropped out after the tragic concert in Europe when a fan was trampled to death.

  • This reminds me of me

  • I heard this on the radio in my aunties car today...I'm sure , i Know I heard it before ( So sad I know but I wont tellanyone cuz theyd just rip into me ).....well I fukin loved it....I asked her when my brother got out of the car what its caled...oh man I just really like thes song...n it made me think about life is changing too fast...I wanna sty this age forever :(

  • @Geddajunior Hi how old r u ??

  • My Favourite song from David Cassidy. xxxxx

  • If you like The Partridge Family, you'll love my bubblegum music podcast, Echo Valley. It's free and fun and we play David Cassidy and The Partridge Family almost every time! Find it on iTunes or Google "Echo Valley Bubblegum"! Hope you like it!

  • Timeless-one of the best voices ever.

  • absolute classic from an era of lazy summers and great childhoods

  • oh to be a teen again . i wished, where have the years gone

  • yes i agree todays music is crap. i would really love the seventys music to come back. wtg david lol my friend was in love with u . i agree christine he was good looking in the 70s, but then again he aint that bad looking now

  • Amazing.... I sang this to my gf so many times.. never once did she not want to dance with me :) :')

  • I would say that the music industry is in trouble the day when a David Cassidy song sounds better than anything being published today. What happened to the soul and spirit of the musical artists. The movies industry is doing great though, I love what I am seeing, lord of the rings, Harry Potter, matrix, great stuff!! but not the music industry.

  • Number 1 on the day I was born...

  • Funny isn't it....I couldn't stand this guy in the seventies, thought he was a total pratt, but these days I quite like this song. It makes a pleasant change from the mindless garbage spewed out at us these days.

  • It stays a real gem !

  • why did he not stay at the top he was one of the best

    always his music was good

  • This is the only song of his I liked!

  • I loved him as teen I just read a book called Once upon a star where one of his exes describes what it was like to date him

  • lol my mum well used to fancy him haha

  • @beautybabebuzz Well, in that case, ur mum had good taste in blokes, so she did. Back in 1972, Mr Cassidy was an incredibly handsome charmer - in his prime, he was at least as good-looking/'fit' as the teen idols of today's generation, like Justin Bieber and Robbie Williams. (Having said that, I have to admit that I never had a crush on Cassidy when i was growing up, bak in the good ole 1970's. But, then again, I am a red-blooded, purely heterosexual male! hehe.)

  • Sorry... doesn't hold a candle to Eddie Brigati's original version in the Young Rascals.

  • his finest moment

  • Seem's so long now I was just a teenager yet when the music from my era is played I feel like a teen again and this song is just fantastic with David's voice so crystal clear and every word is understood,OOOOOOOH the good old days .

  • @MsSkislope

I went to see him in London last night ..... wow he's still hot!

  • Oh i had such a crush on David in my teens:) like many females had posters all over my walls.

  • I had his posters all over my wall as a teen I just read Once Upon a Star by one of his ex girlfriends who knew him well!

  • I had his posters all over my wall as a teen I just read Once Upon a Str by one of his ex girlfriends who knew him well!

  • Now, I'm in love. I am go to sleep. Thanks sumerkis38!

  • I'm 46 and still in love with him!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He was gorgeous..no doubt about that...I was mad over him in the 70's...Mmmmm..x

  • Comment removed

  • @Thereisonlythemoment Same here..we must be the same age..x

  • Simply gorgeous! I was only 10 or so when David was in his heyday - too young to really appreciate just how good looking he was. Mind you, I was an Osmonds fan. Always loved the Partridge family. Love this cover version.

  • Some of my favorite stills are :59-1:09, 1:56, 2:42 Sooooooooooooo handsome!

  • Very nice, David! He was/is such a gorgeous man......Great voice that never quite found it's niche....

  • What a great track.. ...........

  • I used to part my hair on the side, but at age 14 after watching David Cassidy back in those days when he was on the Partridge Family I was inspired me to change to a center part and here I am in my mid 50s and am still parting my hair in the middle. As a guy I wanted to have David's good looks and I was amazed at the many compliments I got from friends when I changed my look.

  • love you too david!

  • Let's go back......

  • An amazing song, totally right for David's haunting voice...Thanks for posting.

  • I LOVE HIM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!! such great teenage memories....just got back in touch with my first love on fb and reminds me of those days....thanx Mr Cassidy!!!xxx

  • Dave was a frustrated rocker in some respects. The only venue he had the freedom to 'be himself' was at his live concerts. Although his version of this song is very well done I'm guessing at the time he did it mainly for the paycheck.

  • As a teenage lad back in the days, i was into slade, led zep, the who etc. As far as i was concerned you could shove donny where the sun doesn't shine, but this guy had some really good tracks out, and i did like "i think i love you".

  • Nice cover, David.. Such a sexy man in his day, and his voice was good! Sad the PF put him in a pop/teeny bopper slot.

  • why do we have to get old???? i loved the 70"s and if i could do it again i would!!!

my name is not wot it says!!i'm just a detective!!! but looking for bullshit!!! and do find lots!!!! and try to put it right

  • Thank you David as whenever I feel down just putting your songs on makes me sing along, cry then smile again. have loved you for over 30 years now xxx

  • One of the first singles that I bought when I was a teenager;I remember listen to it over and over again!Great memories!

  • HAHAHAHA! Reminds me of when I was a kid and I was 'in love' with him,and Donny Osmond, and Marie Osmond, lol. What a crazy, mixed up kid I was back then, lol. But,sorry Marie, the guys won in the end, hahaha!

  • He turned into a Broadway performer & this was the last thing he wanted when he was young ! GOOD LUCK David.

  • Yes it was a girly song but it is 100 times better than any shite that goes for music nowadays.

  • If David had chosen Music instead of Theater and TV he would be a Legend.

He got caught up in the "Heart Throb" genre and missed his destiny.

He was in L.A. at the right time in history to have been as influential as Jim Morrison in Rock Music.

    I wonder what we missed...............

    I wish you well David.

You had (and still have) a lot of Talent and a touch of Magic.

  • @hammerogod Maybe the money has something to do with it and I don't blame him at the end of the day he had bills to pay, a house to warm, a family (?) to feed and a car to run. Personally I'd skin a terd for a £ coin

  • @pinkandjefflynne

I am sure you are probably right.

  • @hammerogod And no doubt everyone else on this lovely planet would do the same

  • brings memories back i was in love with him and innocent, still believed that the world was oke

  • This is such a great song, each version is decent Rascals, David whomever,,,,

  • Young Rascals version blows this away

  • Bleh! Can anyone upload the original by David Cassidy? This doesn't have the beautiful, haunting sound of his original.

  • his father was a wellknown actor,Jack Cassidy

  • i loved him in the 7o s and still do

  • I love David's version of this song. He was really a good singer and his talent was overlooked because he was so sexy and good looking.

  • remember going down to 'manchester citys stadium in manchester' back in 1973 to see all his fans stood outside trying to get in too see him, me and two mates, young guys wanting to see lots of girls in one place lol, it was total mayhem, girls crying thier hearts out without tickets to get in, very funny too us, though we were also very envious of him lol

  • @skguy7 Did Cockney Rebel support him there too?

  • I fell in love with him when I was 13 - and he is still my hero....my one true love!!!

  • @barrby4 Were you a "groupie" ?

  • David in my opinion was definetly under estimated regarding his talent. He was so much more than just Keith Partridge!! He was a rock legend that never got his true dues.

  • I have to admit I was a loyal Osmonds fan at the time so didn't appreciate how great DC's music was - of course I do now. Love this song so much ...

  • talk about a Crush........didnt we all , ladies? omg, I sure did!

  • @msredboot7 oh yes, except that mine was more of an obsession than a crush!

  • Oh davy boy.....you still have the magic.....fancied you in 74.......still think you gorgeous....xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • still a fab song.........only seems' like yesterday!!!!

  • 1977

  • I seen him in Glasgow, Scotland a few years ago..still has the magic.

  • When I was a kid I thought this guy was nothing more than a big cissy. I repent of such thoughts he is a fantastic singer who would kick ass in todays market. David forgive me of my cissy thoughts about you my good mate.

  • My wife of 46 still loves him after all these years.

  • A gift of a voice that is so good its uncanny. One of those voices people will still be talking about long after us mortals have faded into insignificance.

  • not so good as the rascals version ,that me think of Paris inthe sixtees

  • how can I be sure that THIS SING IS EPIC?! yea it is!

  • Still love you David, it started when I was 13 years old, now I'm 50 and my love for you is still there.

You will always be in my heart.

  • Wow...

  • Ah!! I love this one...and i'm a man...one of the ultimate love songs this...memories of a happier era.

  • @GRAHAM5020 WOW! I remember this song by the RASCALS....he's pretty good...

Thank you for sharing a beautiful song..

Thanks SumerKis for an awesome post!

  • javais un magnifik t shirt jaune poussin avec son visage dessus en transfert!!!

  • I had posters of him all over my bedroom....I slept near him every night....:)

  • this guy is a star loved him at age 12 still love him now at 50 happy days of a teenager still got his old pics in box in attic great memories !!!!!

  • The song is stil lovely 35 years later

  • I prefer the Rascals but this is still a great version.

  • Interestingly this was played INSTEAD of the Rascals version on middle-of-the-road stations like WIP in Philly. Loved it then; love it now! Thanks for posting.

  • A FREAKING LEGEND!!! my dad sang this poem to my mom.. *cries* this guy has an epic story, full of wits throgh how his life has been.... without her, he cannot be sure they shall.

  • This is one of my all time fave songs, Love you David xxxxxx

  • Its a YOUNG RASCALS song written by Felix Cavaliare and sung by Eddie Brigatti amazingly the original isnt to be found on here the Rascals version has a parisian accordian sound to it....

  • Was too young to get it first time around, but Oh My God, he was so sexy!!! Love this song, and love the fact my American husband sounds just like him, mmmmm x

  • Fell in love with him when I was 15, it lasted about 6 months, then I dumped him and went on to Marc Bolan. But you never forget your first love do you????. LOL FAB Post.

  • @rockchick80s

Me too and I'm not even slightly gay! But not Marc Bolan..lol

  • I'd rather listen to David sing

" I CAN FEEL YOUR HAIRPLUGS" much better song.

  • Does your comment actually mean something or was it just totally random?

  • this is a nice version but you must see that David not the only singer of this song.

Dusty springfield sung it also very good

    give that version a chance

    PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 38 years ago? My God! i was 5 and remember my sister had pictures of David stuck all over her walls. She's now 55 with a grandchild. Where has all the time gone?

  • @cujo9 Kool!!!. do u have that "74 LP" caller David Cassidy Live???. and if u do can u tell what label was it on "Bell Records" or "RCA"???.

  • @myleftnutts Don't have it but know it's Bell Records. It was the last one he did to fulfill his contract with them. He has 3 albums on RCA: "The Higher They Climb, The Harder They Fall", "Home is Where the Heart Is" and "Gettin' it in the Street". HTH

  • have you seen him lately? he is so much botoxed...it's a pitty, but anyway : it's great to see these old video's of him and the p family brings back good old memories.....

still gives me a twinkle in my hart

  • I am not a David Cassidy fan but I think that it is great to have this medium where fans can pay tribute to their favorite artists. I must admit that I watched the Partridge Family every week way back in the day when I was still in grade school.

  • He is awesome in any way.. pff

  • Gosh, no idea why I You Tubed David Casidy tonight but he was so lovely when he and I were young

  • David was the epitome of cute and cool back then and with plenty of added talent to boot!

He can still sing this song well even to this day! He's still "got it'

  • he was soooo beautiful...my first idol and im 47 now and still think about his good looks and dreamy voice. thankyou

  • I heard he's got a MASSIVE piece as ell!!Can you imagine...all this and THAT too,LoL!!Perfect...

  • I am 7th heaven!!!

  • it´s from "Rock me Baby" album (73)

  • No, it was 1972. I remember it very well

  • Nope. Its from his 'Cherish' album. I know. I have it.

  • This was played on WIP in Philadelphia INSTEAD of the Rascals version. It wasn't until years later that I discovered it was a cover.

  • as good as it got

    mark , 70s boy england

  • aww wat a cutie lol..gr8 tune

  • It was in 1972. I remember my older sister playing this over and over in my old man's house in Witchita.

I cannot believe that it's 37 years ago already, and my sister is 54 this year!

  • Can anybody tell me when this was recorded?

  • Excellent version of this song. No wonder he was a teen idol.

  • More important than his looks is that he's one heckava nice guy.Met him by chance back in the 90's and found him candid & humble. Thanks for the video.

  • The multi-talented Mr Cassidy & his back-up band give an excellent rendition of this beautiful song. Kudos, David! And many thanks to SumerKis for sharing it with us!

  • David will be 60 next year. So very hard to believe...

  • Wasn't he stunningly beautiful! Zac Efron eat your heart out, there's no comparison!Nicirici

  • Zac Efron ? Absolutely no comparison - ZE is a nice looking boy, OK singer and dancer. DC was like a god. WOW David you still do it for me and I'm... well... not young

  • He was beautiful, there is no other word for it.

  • My comment is more for the commentators: amazing that we are often around 54 (as am I) and still adore him and remember the times watching his TV show, listening to his music and reading Tiger Beat with his latest interview.

At the risk of being too over-the-top (wot!? me??) , he's a special angel who has uplifted and inspired so many of us during difficult life experiences.

  • Wow, I don't know but I think PoisonKis kicks your butt....

  • I was never an actual fan of David Cassidy, but he's always had an amazing voice. It would've been nice to see him break out of the "teen idol" mold.

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever. This is very good, but the original by the Rascals is best.

  • OMG! I can just see myself at 11 -- ALL those David Cassidy posters on my wall while I'm reading my latest TIGER BEAT magazine.

  • I know me too! ....Now I crush on David Cook!

  • Yeah. My sister was exactly the same 37 years ago. She's now 54 with grandchildren! Soon David will be 60...

  • What you had to do was put the record on the player, keep the arm back, and it would play endessley on repeat, 13/14 year old BLISS!!!!
