This new design is just bad. Flat out bad. The old one was far better. The funny thing is, I've been trying to adjust this new one and find a way to enjoy it, but it's very difficult to swallow.
Somebody please find a way to fix this awful design. I liked the old one where I could see new comments etc to my fave vids. The new profile is awful and can't be personalised except for colour. The colours given are limited. I've ended up with a hideous mauve when I want lilac. Blurgh!!!

i think the new profile set up is unneccessary and ridiculous. with the new format i can no longer use my play list properly, now the "play all" and "randomize" options are gone and i can NOT listen to the whole list with out having to manually change it from one AMV to the next.
on top of that, i've been trying to change it back like i was able to in the past but the "change back" button is no longer at the top bar either.

Since you're a partner, maybe the message that no one likes these new channels will finally get through to YouTube? I've noticed that these new channels are centered around ads a lot. I tried it, and even though I'm not a partner, the ads still show on my channel. I thought the ads were only supposed to be on partner videos. In this case and the fact that the new design is too glitchy and blocky, this proves that the new channels are epic fail.

I agree, that's the world for ya. But the channels are less glitchy in Google Chrome, meaning they're trying to get people to move into their browser. And the browser sends information to Google about the websites you've been to, leaving you practically no privacy what so ever.
what a lot of people don't get about the new channels is that the smaller people on youtube will never get big and the big partners will stay at the top. no moving off the page, no other peoples videos, you will just stay on the same page for all of your time on youtube. eventually making the videos just a minor part of youtube making it more like a facebook sort of thing

All they have is a little icon for the grid video layout, when there's confusion, they've made a poor design choice.

I Surf usually with the related video tab in watch page and pay some attention to video times (How long it is) wich are hidden in the new design. The new chanell pages load slower and are clumsy to navigate...
Hey Digitolsoul, i tried the new profile, i switched my channel over and discovered that i lose my clickable links that i have in my infobar, that's annoying i put those there for a reason and i don't want to have to go back and copy paste every url again its inconvenient and unfair......I'm not opposed to you tube's new design but don't make it mandatory that just isn't fair

Ya I agree completely, the way things are now with the beta design, and yes I understand it is still in development, you can't see the background very well because things aren't transparent, there is less customization, and when you go to scroll down the list for videos and favourites, for slower computers it can actually take a while for a section to load, then scroll some more, and it takes time for that section to load.
The thing is You tube owns it so they are going to do what they want.We can either chose not to use it or use it. That's our power. I don't need different colors and this and that, I want it to JUST FREAKIN WORK! I just put up what I need and that's it. I don't need to be rocket science, I say keep it simple and plan, getting complicated is a waste effort
Youtube doesn't have any incentive to listen to its viewers because it is a free site and is not competing for profit. Such is the nature of everything free.

I remember when I found out about the Beta profile, and I immediately changed it to the new one. After a few days I wanted to change some things. 1. They were hard to find/figure out. 2. You definitely lose the customization of it all. I changed it back to the old format within a few days of using it. Everyone's profile looks the same in beta, while with the old school one you have more ways of each profile looking different. I like the old one :-\

Its not "our profiles", we don't own anything on youtube or most of the internet. Youtube is a company (part of google) and they pretty much hand us server space to upload our videos to and share them to anyone on the web. They have given us so much, to the point were we start to think of everything as ours. So they are changing some stuff, they are allowed to, Its there site. Sure you can be disgruntled about it, just remember how much they have given you for free...

i like the new design but they should have both and i think that youtube has been going down hill since google got it i hate the copyright and the new design should have more things that you can change i'm starting to think in about a year or two you wont be able to even put a video on youtube bacaus of what googles been doing to it and good video i agree that we should be able to chose what design we want

I hate the new design. It's hard for me to navigate them and the old one was so much...easier and all around better. I think it is stupid to make everyone change

Ya I agree completely, the way things are now with the beta design, and yes I understand it is still in development, you can't see the background very well because things aren't transparent, there is less customization, and when you go to scroll down the list for videos and favourites, for slower computers it can actually take a while for a section to load, then scroll some more, and it takes time for that section to load.

The thing is You tube owns it so they are going to do what they want.We can either chose not to use it or use it. That's our power. I don't need different colors and this and that, I want it to JUST FREAKIN WORK! I just put up what I need and that's it. I don't need to be rocket science, I say keep it simple and plan, getting complicated is a waste effort

Youtube doesn't have any incentive to listen to its viewers because it is a free site and is not competing for profit. Such is the nature of everything free.

What I miss most in the new profiles is the ability to have a 'top 9' favorites or top 9 uploads,etc...That's how I put my best foot forward to youtube on my other channels...

The new one is alright, just a new look thats all, But if youtube will change the look on the 15th then ill just keep the old one till the new beta hits.

When he's talking about which has more games, I'm pretty sure he's talking about exclusives which is true. The ps3 does have more exclusives, it's in the video. And about him saying the ps3 is better as a fact, I'm not sure about that, so I really can't say anything about that.

my first comment was so rudely interupted by a facebook message im going straight to my point. youtube has its problems, this isnt a big deal is a video like this neccisary? (keep in mind im trying to keep this short) it definetly has HUGE holes in the system DVincentW 's comment (5 hours b4 mine) makes an extremely good point example being videos from smp films and videos from people from the christian youtube community. their videos should be flagged and same with their athiest counterparts

I know what you mean about these changes, I don't mind the profile changes, but I'm probably gonna change back because on low-spec comps like mine, I can't access some features. And another thing on changes, the YouTube XL is real stupid. I don't see any benefits out of it :L

I remember when I found out about the Beta profile, and I immediately changed it to the new one. After a few days I wanted to change some things. 1. They were hard to find/figure out. 2. You definitely lose the customization of it all. I changed it back to the old format within a few days of using it. Everyone's profile looks the same in beta, while with the old school one you have more ways of each profile looking different. I like the old one :-\

I thoroughly enjoyed this vid! Everything you said, I agree with. Yes, Youtube has been providing people for years with a free service , and we are all appreciative. But there comes a time when you have to stand up for what you believe in. And quite honestly Youtube, I want the freedom of choice here! Please don't FORCE me to change my channel design. I've seen it on other ppls accts and it's bad. I like nothing about it!

The flagging of videos is insane.Makes anybody the "decider"; a little FCC fascist and have your video taken down, no questions, no debate, the video is just gone.

Its not "our profiles", we don't own anything on youtube or most of the internet. Youtube is a company (part of google) and they pretty much hand us server space to upload our videos to and share them to anyone on the web. They have given us so much, to the point were we start to think of everything as ours. So they are changing some stuff, they are allowed to, Its there site. Sure you can be disgruntled about it, just remember how much they have given you for free...
