Darrell Revis, Nnamdi Asomugha, Champ Bailey, Asante Samuels, etc can't handle Marvin Harrison. He aint the fastest on the field, but his precise route running would be all he needs to get them lost.
@LOUWEEZYANA I'd like Revis and Nnamdi's chances against Harrison IF they play press coverage on him the whole game. But giving Marvin a 7 yard cushion in his heyday was a recipe for disaster for any corner!
ahhh the good ol' play action bomb to marvin. used to happen almost once a game, it seemed like. Colts haven't had, at the same time, a running game like Edge could bring, and a deep threat like Marvin in his prime, in years.
The cuts he executed during his routes were surgically precise. Cornerbacks consistently played off of their heels while defending him, allowing him to gain free space. His field-awareness was second-to-none, and his catching ability was nothing short of A-1.
Peyton Manning put the ball on a string every time in this video. On multiple occasions, Peyton threw the ball while being flushed out of the pocket, and was still deadly accurate, but I digress.
@robertpetrea23 no he was done. he was never the same after the knee injury. but man in his prime was he somethin else. left, right, toe tap... 6 points. he made DBs look silly, to many times to count you would see him zig and the DB zag. he was fun to watch.
marvin harrison ran routes to perfection and symbolized how good wide receivers look when they dont showboat. i have nothing against showboating or gloating, just have always liked players who just play the game
i refuse to believe that there is a spot for david patten in this league this year but none for marvin harrison. doesnt make sense, he aint even old really
can not lie cried when i watched this. great wr man. not cocky at all. MAIN reason i watched the nfl and like the colts i love them now. got his rookie card. MUCH LOVE MARVIN MAD RESPECT MAN thnx for the vid perfect song fits him
cant lie but i cried a little watching this........hes the reason i started watching the nfl and reason i like the colt. big ups to whoever made this perfect song i love marvin harrison. future hall of famer
manning got fucking clobbered a split second after so many of these throws... sometimes you forget he's a tough dude when you see him drop to the turf before the hit sometimes. great vid.
Peyton Manning... Marvin Harrison... Randy Moss... & Barry Sanders are the best I've EVER seen at their positions when they were in their prime years.
@Campbell7204 3 td is enough. 100yds is enough. if u score more than that, it means nothing. the only thing is mean is that your team is horrible. just like adiran peterson getting 296 yds with 3 td. vikings was horrible in 08.
But the missed probably one of Marvin's greatest catches ever! I have it hanging in my office thanks to a full page picture in the Indianapolis star. The fully laid out, one handed grab against the chiefs in the playoffs in about '03.
0:17= awesome catch, i think mannings throw should earn credit though
0:35= nice route.... but the dude covering him looks pretty dumb
0:54= okaaay, he burned him BUT the throw on the run ppl?! perfect spiral? while a huge black man is chasing him?! yeah i give credit to both harrison and manning
2:33= pure burn...just watch the dude covering him. he goes foward, then back then foward again Lmao
2:43= i think #44 should sit down and not play football again !
these routes is what makes harrison good . i think without them he's shit. plus he has one of the best throwing to him .
jamming recievers on the line makes a difference...NOTICE how each time he burns a corner, the corner never jammed him on the line, making him fake a short route to make the corner move up, then fly deep,
*but then notice in the end how ellis hobbs actually was physical on the line....he sticked him great , but mannings throw earns more credit . This is true ppl cmon !!
dude keep in mind the colts only let the guy go because there was not enough money to give him, manning, wayne, freeney, and sanders. the guys still productive
i honestly am still looking for that michael jordan of a sport. The way he changed not only basketball, but the entire world of sports and the respect of the whole city of chicago. Peyton Manning is as close as it gets, no he doesnt have all the championships but he does have 4 MVP's. Jordan had his go to guy--Pippen. Marvin Harrison is like Pippen to Manning seriously, Manning is taking over the NFL like Jordan did in the NBA in the 90's.
don't even try and compare him to jordan because jordan will be one th best ever point blank period. it's still debatable rather manning or brady is the best...and me personally brady is the qb in the nfl...there is no debating rather jordan is the best because he is...well at least at his position...bress manning brady are pretty much neck and neck...but brady has more rings, more post season appearences and oh, yeah more post season wins...
@dejonal Moss? All Moss can do is run straight patterns. He is all speed and catch. Rice ran a 4.7, matched up against Dieon Sanders his whole career and could run any route perfectly to beat him during every game.
@dejonal I've rarely seen Randy get balls from triple coverage, but he does manage to retrieve balls in double coverage. He manages to do that by his HEIGHT advantage and he gets his separation through SPEED and play-calling. 67% of his routes are 15 yards or more; he known as a deep threat. But his advantages in receiving doesn't really cover his "art" of route running, just mostly his athleticism.
@jmaal2345 well, its kind of a hard decision, because on one hand, marvin harrison is the best route runner, and holds some records, on the other hand, moss is the type to make acrobatic catches, and holds records. They were raw not only because of their skill, or qb's, but they were the perfect style receivers for their types of offenses.
Do you know what the hell you're talking about? Harrison wanted more money, the Colts couldn't give it to him because
1) He hadn't produced for 2 years straight because of injuries
2) Wayne was clearly better than him and Harrison didn't deserve more money
3) There was no cap room left.
Harrison ASKED to be released after the Colts didn't give him more money, and they did so. Manning had already taken a pay cut a while back for Harrison. Don't call the colts cold...
Yo, Marvin. It's safe to say that I speak for everyone in Indy in telling you thanks for the great seasons, spectacular highlights, and what you did for our team. We hate the way you left, and how the CLOTS organization didn't even recognize what you meant to the team and the fans. For what its worth, Thanks, and we all hope to see you back when they put your name in the ring of fire. Cheers and Salute!!
You realize they only released him cause he was asking for money that the organization didn't have? He then ASKED for his own release and they did him the favor.
Nobody wanted him to leave, but he made the situation what it was.
Yeah, I realize that, but the fact remains that he did a lot for this organization to turn it around from a losing franchise to a top tier team. I'm just speaking for a lot of COLTS fans to tell him "thanks". We never got the chance.
anyone know where i can find a video of a great one-handed catch where Marv was completely parallel with the ground. It was against the Titans in Nashville from the 2003 season I think.
dude i remember that ive been looking for that catch for 6 years. His best ever and you cant find it anywhere. Im not sure where to find it but if you do let me know please
Is he asking for hella money or what? why is he not in a team? i just hope he doesn't go with the raiders cus for some odd reason pro bowlers just loose skills while they are in there just ask moss and sapp, i say this and i live in oakland
your comment makes me think that if brees or mcnabb would be 10 times better if they had these receivers on their team, cus their teams dnt have that talent
not that they dont have talent just not nowhere near the talent level of peytons recievers...for ex. look at that catch at 0:19 and tell me that theres another qb with a reciever that can do that and that catch was to get mr peyton to his 1st and only superbowl. not saying this makes peyton a bad qb im just sayin hes not doing nothing special throwing to arguably 3 now 2 of the top reciever in the nfl being claimed as great and only barely winning a superbowl
no one needs to plead McNabb's case he's already proven he one of the best QB 's the game has ever seen all the years he lead the Eagles to the NFC championship game without any talent at WR and then when he finally gets some skill in T.O he takes us to the big game the guy is a complete legend people don't give him as much credit as he deserves I mean look even with a WR that was a rookie that shows he has huge potential (DeSean Jackson) McNabb took us back to the NFC championship game nuffsaid
you an eagles fan?!, man u gotta add me as a friend, imma go to da game this sunday against the weakass dick rydas a mean raiders, hoping for a shutout, and probably get into a fight, but anyways GO EAGLES!!!
If they made Peyton, then why is he producing with a second year division 3 wideout and a 4th round rookie? Im not denying how good those guys you mentioned are, they are all elite or HOF bound, but dont say Peyton is simply a product of them. When its all said and done, Peyton could (and likely wiil) be the best QB to ever play the game.
who wayne, clark, and gonzalez. oh garcon that guy who caught a screen, that cacth by collie was nice but boy peyton almost overthrew him how i see it is that he only won one championship they give this guy too much credit when he hasnt produced in the post season you say goat when he has only won 1 out of 11 this guy cant beat ben and brady when it counts and they not denying him credit but they give qbs to much credit when the outcome is more tan likely gonna comee down to best athletes
Doubt that, people give Peyton too much credit he lead the Colts to 1 Super Bowl so what? He'll get his spot on the wall at Canton no doubt but he won't be named best QB ever if anyone is going to assume that title it's Brady and this is coming from an Eagles fan by the way I hate Pats they cheated their way to a Super Bowl win over the Eagles, barely might I add and I much prefer Colts
Doubt that? Manning has had to make up for some of thw worst special teams and defensive units. If he didnt score points, those defenses and special teams he worked with would let even the worst teams back in the game. last year he won the MVP with a gimpy knee and missing 80% of his starting offensive line with a washed up Marvin Harrison. Too much credit? I think not
@bevansclan im not insulting marv, but it was clear that he wasn't the same after that knee injury. I wish him all the best and it sucks that no one picked him up, but I cant deny that he didnt look like marv. To me, he is the greatest receiver not named jerry rice.
Man Marvin was and still is one of the greatest. he used his rout running to burn deffenders and his hands were the best. watch his feet. he was never cocky and most people proubly heard more about Terrel Owens with all the media around him. Idk why but yeah the music is calm kinda like marvin
best receiver of all time, after jerry rice of course

jeremy9813 2 years ago
Is he asking for hella money or what? why is he not in a team? i just hope he doesn't go with the raiders cus for some odd reason pro bowlers just loose skills while they are in there just ask moss and sapp, i say this and i live in oakland
whothebitchnowsucka 2 years ago
man he deserve to be paid he/wayne/clark/james/ made peyton
datboi734 2 years ago
your comment makes me think that if brees or mcnabb would be 10 times better if they had these receivers on their team, cus their teams dnt have that talent
whothebitchnowsucka 2 years ago
not that they dont have talent just not nowhere near the talent level of peytons recievers...for ex. look at that catch at 0:19 and tell me that theres another qb with a reciever that can do that and that catch was to get mr peyton to his 1st and only superbowl. not saying this makes peyton a bad qb im just sayin hes not doing nothing special throwing to arguably 3 now 2 of the top reciever in the nfl being claimed as great and only barely winning a superbowl
datboi734 2 years ago
no one needs to plead McNabb's case he's already proven he one of the best QB 's the game has ever seen all the years he lead the Eagles to the NFC championship game without any talent at WR and then when he finally gets some skill in T.O he takes us to the big game the guy is a complete legend people don't give him as much credit as he deserves I mean look even with a WR that was a rookie that shows he has huge potential (DeSean Jackson) McNabb took us back to the NFC championship game nuffsaid

you an eagles fan?!, man u gotta add me as a friend, imma go to da game this sunday against the weakass dick rydas a mean raiders, hoping for a shutout, and probably get into a fight, but anyways GO EAGLES!!!
whothebitchnowsucka 2 years ago
that was one helluva shut out you guys pitched.lmao
bevansclan 2 years ago 4
If they made Peyton, then why is he producing with a second year division 3 wideout and a 4th round rookie? Im not denying how good those guys you mentioned are, they are all elite or HOF bound, but dont say Peyton is simply a product of them. When its all said and done, Peyton could (and likely wiil) be the best QB to ever play the game.

who wayne, clark, and gonzalez. oh garcon that guy who caught a screen, that cacth by collie was nice but boy peyton almost overthrew him how i see it is that he only won one championship they give this guy too much credit when he hasnt produced in the post season you say goat when he has only won 1 out of 11 this guy cant beat ben and brady when it counts and they not denying him credit but they give qbs to much credit when the outcome is more tan likely gonna comee down to best athletes
datboi734 2 years ago
Doubt that, people give Peyton too much credit he lead the Colts to 1 Super Bowl so what? He'll get his spot on the wall at Canton no doubt but he won't be named best QB ever if anyone is going to assume that title it's Brady and this is coming from an Eagles fan by the way I hate Pats they cheated their way to a Super Bowl win over the Eagles, barely might I add and I much prefer Colts
floflwaffle 2 years ago
I think not
metalmilitia1890 2 years ago 2
Yo. Do not EVER insult the great marvelous Marvin Harrison
bevansclan 2 years ago 5
@bevansclan im not insulting marv, but it was clear that he wasn't the same after that knee injury. I wish him all the best and it sucks that no one picked him up, but I cant deny that he didnt look like marv. To me, he is the greatest receiver not named jerry rice.

hes on the jets now
tray10277 2 years ago
no he's not actually. He is still a FA
metalmilitia1890 2 years ago
hes gonna hace to face bob sanders if the jets play the colts
tray10277 2 years ago 2
Nope to that too. Sanders is on IR
metalmilitia1890 2 years ago 2
Man Marvin was and still is one of the greatest. he used his rout running to burn deffenders and his hands were the best. watch his feet. he was never cocky and most people proubly heard more about Terrel Owens with all the media around him. Idk why but yeah the music is calm kinda like marvin
lgsnipe 2 years ago
I think the song is good. It seems to fit Marvin for some odd reason.

QB who can put the ball anywhere, throwing to the receiver who can catch the ball anywhere. One of the all time greatest match ups no doubt.
