so much splatter. why don't you just spread the polish using lower rpm to minimize splatter? it would save time i think.

if applying wax, say carnuba wax, should one apply it by hand or machine? if machine what kind of pad?

It depends on what kind of wax it is. If it is a hard paste wax then you should apply it by hand with a soft applicator pad. Liquid waxes can be applied by a machine but you should use a zero cut, finishing foam pad.

No, it can be used to clean up hazy paint, oxidation, swirls, or just dull paint and make it look new again.

i used to use buffers like that at bodyworks, except we use 3M products.
