@jelani801 you can go to start>control panel>add or remove programs. Then you can scroll down to: Wallpaper Changer for Windows XP. Click it and remove it from there. :)

@flmks, you can hack your Vista's uxtheme.dll file so you can use Custom themes.

Cause Microsoft won't let you use themes for Vista.

You need VistaGlazz though

Theres totally nothing wrong with still using XP, its a good OS. Upgrading your machine to Vista or 7 was a pointless waste time. Just for people who just have to have the latest OS for no other reason then that. Go to the w3schools OS stats and youll see that as of Dec 09 61.6% of people are still using XP.

I've gotten a 16gig SSD internal drive with about 200mb/s write and read speed. Windows 7 takes about 8 seconds.

Note to everyone : SAVE UP AND GET A SSD (Solid state drive) It beats the fuck out of my old one.

Unfortuneatly, A 1TB one casts 4 grand :|

Alot of people don't realize, but Windows Vista came out with heavy system demands. That's why Windows Vista didn't work correctly. Over time and through a service pack, Windows Vista is just as capable as Windows 7. Windows 7 is essentially Windows Vista but the 'major bugs' that everyone was complaining about is fixed. It's like comparing Windows 98 and Windows 98SE. There's no real difference between the two.

I have vista on mine primary computer which is the most powerful computer.

But mine secondary computer have 7,i don't see difference between vista and 7.

7 is lighter than vista and uses less memory.

that's why i installed 7 on my secondary computer which is laptop. vista's boot time was about 1min and 20 seconds.....

I noticed that windows 7 doesn't slow down when you install a lot of programs,it still boots fast.

Everyone, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, Mac OS X, they all have security issues and speed issues. No same operating system is going to run smooth and error-less on different computers. Hardware might conflict, certain programs don't run right. Some files won't save. Just use what you're comfortable and HAPPY with. But yes, use what you want to. Don't listen to other people, try the OS your self, if you don't like it, stash it away for the future.

ur silly for not using 7, is far more secure than xp, 7 uses a built in utility that makes programs not able to access other programs

its basically a really rough sandbox that will stump a lot of very simple malware

and as for speed, the difference is not going to be noticeable if your using modern day main stream hardware
