@joeratti I've noticed that on the Streamlight TLR-2, the bright white light will sort of wash out the red laser dot. But, on the x400, that red dot is still REALLY BRIGHT in relationship to the white flood light. I think that's where the money goes.
Good question, I haven't had that issue, but I use mopstly bladetech holsters ands they are 'slit' in back so the remore switch isn't really 'inside' the holster
It might be an issue on some tight fit holsters though..
is it just me or is the x400 look simular to the lazer light that was on the deagle in mw2? is the x400 what that deagle lazer model was designed after?
COULD YOU GUYS DO A REVIEW FOR THE SUREFIRE M952V OR ONE OF THE WEAPONLIGHTS WITH A VAMPIRE BEZEL? I HAVEN'T FOUND REALLY ANY REVIEWS ON THIS LIGHT AND I FIND THAT TO BE KIND OF UNUSUAL CONSIDERING IT'S CAPABILITY. I WOULD APPRECIATE IT, AND I THINK OTHER OPERATORS WOULD TOO.
To anyone considering purchasing a tac light for a pistol; just get one, and don't skimp out, get the 300 (or 400) with the switch. And if you carry your gun at night, it should be mandatory. I have the "X300" with the "DG switch" on a pistol, it's one of the best investments I've ever made. My only regret was not getting it sooner. Great video..
Going to dig into your vast knowledge on all things firearms yet again. Would you go with a light laser combo? Or crimson trace grips? Or night sights and a tactical light? This set up would be for sheep dog carry ( concealed carry). After watching your videos i see that you have used just about everything i have asked. I was thinking about a TLR 2. But then i got to thinking about the night sights and TLR 1. I know it's really up to what i like. But you have used this stuff more then me.
I think my favorite so far is the laser and light seperate
Crimson trace laser and surefire w/ remote switch
not perfect on the glock (too wide) but on an M&P the laser is the BEST.. it replaces the backstrap you know, then a light on the rail with a remote switch.. that would be a great combo for me
Can you still holster the weapon with that switch on it? Or will it it the switch and turn the light on? Do they even make a holster that will fit a M&P with the x400 on it?
holster for the light with the switch? Or a holster for the M&P with this mounted on it. It would seem to me it should be able to be holstered. What would the point be of spending eighty to one hundred more dollars. For a item that can only be used in a night stand.
Nice! Thanks for this review, I was wondering how power was controlled on the X400 for the laser. I have a X300 now and am considering upgrading to the X400 so that any pistol I slap my surefire onto will not only have the best tactile light option but will also have a laser as well!
The local shop where I filmed this had three, they are now out.. as soon as people heard they had them in stock they went quick.. glad I got to film it when I did
My bag was on fire once.

i wonder how surefire justifies 200 price jump for just a fucking laser added

Thank you!

With the DG switches installed, do you have issues with holster fit? Seeing as how the switch is molded around the outside of the trigger guard?

hard to argue, lights are worth every cent

Can the laser be activated with the remote switch also, or only the light?
NBarnes88 2 years ago
well the on / off swicth is just the on / off switch..
If the laser is selected with the mode selector switch, then that is what is turned off / on with the remote switch..
If the selector is switched to light only, then just the light would be turned on / off
hope that makes sense
